I took out a tournament Mewtwo with my Special Defense heavy, careful nature Skarmory. Drill Peck, Toxic, Roost, Protect. W/Leftovers. It's already very heavy on defense. Now had the Mewtwo had an electric attack, it may have been a different story. But Skarmory, with the right configuration, and typically when used as a surprise can be a little monster.
I agree. While I am annoyed by the tripping, some of the stages interfere too much, and the healing items, I deal with it because the game is fun, and allows less skilled people to jump in. The 'Final Destination, no items, no smash ball' crowd take a lot of the fun out of the game.
1. Lay off the Vita huh guys?
2. Am I the only one excited about the 3D (as in 3DS 3D capability) for this game?
the angle of the hero as relates to the ground/trees/buildings/etc., along with the 3D for depth perception is likely to be AMAZING imo.
I don't think it's so hard to 'go back' personally. I've put over 200 hours into both Pokemon Black and White and Skyrim in the past year and a half. Also played Tales of Graces, Fire Emblem, Valkyria Chronicles, and went back to Chrono Trigger for old times sake. I just love RPG's, and I enjoy each type for what they are.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see a somewhat detailed open world, Pokemon game where the battle system wasn't so rigi...
Haven't played many classic RPG's I take it? Role Playing Games used to be more about concept than what was taking place on the screen. You devise your strategy, implement it on your turn, then watch your opponent do the same. There's nothing wrong with the 'Fighting game' types of RPG's today. I love the Tales series personally. But there's something great about turn based RPG's that you just can't get anywhere else. Pokemon is one of those games.
MeatAbstract, I agree that the game was great. Can't agree that the art style won over the detractors though. A lot of people won't even play the DS hand held games because they use the same art style, and they don't want to support that choice by Nintendo. I liked it for what it was, and replay the game periodically, because it was so good. I personally prefer the strive for the 'Lord of the rings/Ultra Fantasy' type of look/atmosphere that the article spoke of though. To...
Nintendo officially announced the Wii U at E3 2011. Console companies almost always announce waay ahead of release what they intend, then give time for people to get excited, and for developers to make the necessary games for launch to ensure success.
That being said, I think people need to slow it down and realize, that we most likely won't see a PS4 or X720 release this year. It wouldn't make sense. Especially since their current consoles have been profitable for a...
True. Yet as popular and as many die-hard WW fans there are out there, even to this day, a large amount of people amongst Zelda fans are upset by the choice, and detest that art style, so the question stands.
Whatever they choose I'm sure will be acceptable to me. However, if they don't use a style at least very similar to the tech-demo, I will be VERY disappointed. How could they show that off, then go in another direction?
As for the idea that we don't want 'realistic' so much as we want 'High Fantasy', that is a great point. I think the writer put well into words what many Zelda fans have been feeling.
Windwaker HD re-release in late...
He was talking about the respective post launch weeks of the other consoles, which also would have been during the same 'Holiday shopping season' timeline.
I agree with you that this is a small sample size and we don't know yet if it's a success or not. But we do know that it's ahead of the trend of the same time period 6 years ago.
Personally, I would attribute that to the PSWii60 generation adding so many console gamers to the fold. Ther...
What do I expect? Console releases once every 2-3 years instead of every 4-5. Control options that allow for whatever a gamer may want rather than ignoring and alienating those who for whatever reasons, don't like motion controls. A graphic style much closer to that of the 2011 tech demo than that of Skyward Sword. (Nothing wrong with Skyward Sword style, but that is not what I want out the first HD Zelda game). Much more interactive and destructible environments. A few other small things...
The subscription/contact based model would be trouble in the sense that they would be going from a 'Whoever has the cash can buy/play' system to a 'You have to pass a credit check' system. That pushes out a lot of people.
What did that have to do with what I said?
When whatever the Mother remake is comes out, I'm buying like 5 copies and handing them out to friends. I hope everyone else who loves the series does also, so that we can have a strong hope for the future regarding it!
Definitely agree. Mii's have their place and all. But they are inherently odd and undetailed characters. I hate that they are infesting more and more games. If they are in the next Smash Bros, I REALLY hope it's in its own special mode.
I'd have to think about it for a while to give a list of what new characters I'd like to see. But I do hope that they continue the trend of re-imagining old NES and SNES characters with new 3D character models, along with a better Adventure mode that let's us give those characters a test run for potential new games they may choose to make.
Before Nintendoland and it's Mii infested core series samples, Smash Bros was the 'Advertising' game for Nintendo...
Hilarious how so many people act like they can even notice a difference that matters between 30 and 60fps. Typically, as long as a framerate is at least 30fps, and holds it steady with no dipping, most people can't even tell a difference.
I'd love it on the Wii U. If anything though, it's probably a remake of an older game for the 3DS and I'll take it all the same.
I can't wait!
I've been looking to get XCOM at a decent discount, but haven't been able to find a real deal.
