Those games with the exception of the Game Cube, were rarely a 'full experience'. Pokemon Battle Revolution didn't even have a quest. It was just an outlet to battle on your TV with more Game Cube level graphics.
SO, if they are working on a Wii U game, people are hoping that for once, it's actuially the experience that so many gamers want. Semi-detailed (Cell shaded, anime style though) open world, MMORPG type of game.
Monster Hunter now has a 3DS/Wii U symbiosis going. If Nintendo does it right, the handhelds will continue to thrive. If you had to register a unique handheld Pokemon game to have a Pokemon Wii U experience that goes online, and locally beyond the initial quest, items, etc., then people wouldn't hesitate at all to spend $100 buying both games. I know I'd do it in a heart beat.
What has become apparent, is that Capcom is not willing to spend beyond a certain point for this series development. It started when they changed Tri from PS3 to Wii. Now Sony has chosen tech with a somewhat similar cost for development for the Vita. Capcom wants MH development to be 'cheap'. It was when they could make games for the PS2 and the PSP. Obviously not anymore. 3DS development is akin to making an affordable Wii game that looks better, and Wii U development is cheaper than...
So you'd be happy with a Vita port that had 3DS level graphics? I doubt most Vita owners would. And yet it would cost money to take advantage of the Vita hardware. This isn't a game you could just take from the Wii U and put on the Vita either. This is no simple port... Perhaps there will be a decision in the future to make a port when the Vita install-base in Japan is MUCH higher, ya know? But as of right now, it doesn't make sense financially.
As for the game b...
Gamer1982,
So it's on Capcom to take a major risk by releasing a version on the Vita, for the sake of those who can't/won't buy a 3DS?
That makes no sense. If one is truly in a financial position where they can only buy a single gaming device, then they probably should not be buying it anywhere near launch. See how things play out. If you have to buy such and such device because of company loyalty, and you can't afford something else - then wh...
If for many PS360 gamers, the main reason they didn't want to play Wii games is that they looked terrible on their HD tv's, then HD re-releases would give some gamers incentive to buy games that they had previously missed out on.
As for me, I'd love to replay some games simply because I love an excuse to replay old games that I've enjoyed.
'His position on the Wii U'.
As if he's running for office or something.
He's just a guy who gets paid to predict markets who continues to dabble in gaming in spite of his failures. Why? Due to the fact that he continues to get strong reactions from gamers to the point that makes it worthwhile for sites like GT to keep bringing him back.
Maybe people shouldn't 'expect' it, but it does say a lot about such an opinionated gamer when their pool of gaming experience is shallow in the relative sense.
Even if it was before your time, those games are classic, fun, and available for cheap now. Never having played them is fine, but a perspective that's all too common now a days. I.E. The 'CoD generation' who think their shallow pool is the be all/end all, without even attempting to know and und...
We need to do better N4G.
While I think I might like augmented reality cards of pokemon that served to make battling your pokemon in real life environments possible, I definitely don't want to have to collect toys, or to have to spend a lot of extra money in order to play.
^This.
Your grasping at imagined extremes and absolute judgments is pathetic. You have no idea what someone's priorities in life are based simply on the fact that they'd rather have a game sooner rather than later. You're just bitching, and trying to do it from up on some high horse. Get over yourself.
You're talking messed up in the head, and American stereotypes, while arrogantly trashing a simple but acceptable article, being a downer for no reason that makes any...
What are you talking about? One of the biggest frustrations to Pokemon gamers who don't live in Japan has been the extra wait for games while Japan has already had them for months. It may not bother you for some reason, but it IS a big deal.
That being said, the rest of your post... Why are you being so petty?
I'm so excited for this game, and the promise that it holds, I can't read enough articles about it at the moment.
Same here, but 'Save the system'? The Wii U isn't selling like the enigmatic Wii, but it's doing well.
If anything was perhaps rushed, then it would be the assets that they used for the incomplete build of the game used for the trailer.
The game doesn't release until October. That's over 8 months of finishing and polishing time before production starts. I don't see what the issue is here...
Can't wait!
I'm VERY excited about the possibilities surrounding this game.
Damn. Well, I hope you enjoy it. I hear it's excellent, and I will be playing it at some point.
Kind of like the way comics do constantly. Starting comics over at 'issue #1' all of the time, or killing off characters, or changing things fundamentally in order to try and cater to people they want to try to attract to the book, rather than the constant fans whom they feel they can take for granted.
'F'em. They're going to buy it anyway. Let's go completely against their wishes and hope it gets those people over there to buy our product!'
