lol, yep. These things get pretty frustrating at times.
He's speaking of profit vs. financial losses.
Nintendo made a profit on every Game Cube they sold. The console didn't sell as many as they wanted, but it was by no means a failure. For the last decade, Nintendo has made Billions in profit by not selling each hardware unit at a loss. BILLIONS. Let's just leave it at that.
I did check out the article. It's the term desperation, and that type of language that I grow tired of. Also, very tired of the 'It happens to Sony and MS too!' argument. What does that even mean? Everyone has to have their turn taking even the positive things and having a negative spin put on them? And the fanboy loyalists who hate all things Nintendo just eat it up since for whatever silly reasons, they feel threatened by anything good that isn't aligned with their own loyal...
Two words for you Root. Retro Studios.
It will have backwards compatibility. I doubt that it will cost in hardware at all. Provided that the new console is also using BluRay, then this will probably be more of an operating system/inherent coding feature than anything else.
I agree that the cynicism was unnecessary. Considering that this is January (Not E3), I don't see how any of these announcements aren't plus plus. It's January. If this were their E3 presentation, then I'd be worried. But they basically said, 'Hey, we know you guys love to know what you may want to look forward to, and yes, Jan/Feb are dry months for our new console, so here ya go. Drool away. We'll get you even more excited come E3!'
I thought it ...
I didn't miss the point at all. I simply discount the idea that Nintendo is going to forsake the casual audience. That's absurd. Early on, while the price is high on the Wii U, Nintendo needs to appeal to people who are serious about gaming. Period. They did the same thing with the Wii. Problem is they through of the 'Core' like garbage for about a year and a half once they captured the attention of the casual audience. The Wii was sold out that first year because of the fanat...
The facial expressions. The way the eyes would move around and look in the direction of something that you should check out. So many things about that art style and its application were gold. That being said, I'm glad that this is a remake, and that the next game will likely be in a more 'fantasy realism' style.
Some tracks for sure. But I'd like for many of them to remain as they were. They'd have to see what the feel for each piece is as relates to the new graphics I guess.
Definitely the most satisfying Ganondorf kill in the series. You owe it to yourself to finish it.
Everyone is different, and has their own opinions, but I must say that your disappointment and jadedness are in the minority on this. That Nintendo Direct was Awesome, and the games they announced, for the most part have Nintendo gamers excited. Not to mention many non-Nintendo gamers.
I mean seriously, They did focus on games, and you complained about the games they announced (that most people like and are excited) and are saying that they need to focus on games. Makes no se...
No doubt.
These announcements 'failed to muster much excitement'? In what alternate Universe is this?
Can't Wait!
They're saying best on console. Not of anything we've ever seen. Yeah, people are excited, and the game looks great. Especially since it's a very early build. But I wouldn't call it jumping the boat. Considering the scope, and the look of it, the argument can be made. Whether it's true or not, probably can't be determined since it's all about preference.
Not to take anything away from GoW, or Santa Monica, but God of War looks so great because the environments are fixed angle. Ever wonder why you can't change the camera angle and see the glorious graphics from different angles? Because the console isn't rendering the environment in 360 real time. it's an awesome, and clever trick, but obviously you can't do that in an open world game...
No doubt. But at times, they absolutely run this site as far as commenting goes.
Or never knew because they were small children back then...
It's sad how many fearful, unnecessarily threatened, absolute immature haters we have here at N4G... It's pathetic. Nintendo and gamers had a GREAT day today. Some awesome games are headed our way. That doesn't mean that your favorite company's next offering will be any less desirable whenever it's officially announced. Grow up. Ignorant people love to call Nintendo the 'kiddie console' company. But anyone on the outside looking in here on this thread would have to...
What does that have to do with people being sick of this in particular? Are you saying that because it happens to your favorite company, when it happens to Nintendo people should just deal with it? Screw that. With as many Wii U articles you are on with these kind of comments, I think you just enjoy the Wii U bashing. Doom and gloom articles suck. No matter what company they target. Don't validate them all by supporting the ones that bash a company you don't like/don't care for. M...
