Review scores in general are a dubious enough rubric at best, but that applies tenfold to user scores.

I have no trouble believing that review bombing is still a thing, but that stopped being shocking over a decade ago, as did any value it held as news-worthy material. Trolls will be trolls. Next.

You want real nightmare fuel? The Schwarzenegger film Junior has you covered.

Could have used more Kojima.

You mean hardware sales are down when two of the major systems are nearing the twilight years of their lifespan and their successors are soon to be unveiled? Who would have thought? Gotta love top notch journalism like this. /s

Are you sure those are gamers and not “gamers?” True gamers disown those idiots.

Ha! If this is the weirdest thing you’ve played I question if you know Japan. To be fair I have a Japanese PSN account.

You can bet if I were in charge a full-on Pokemon MMO with every region and all Pokemon scattered throughout would have been a thing years ago, but perhaps those in charge at Gamefreak who have a business degree and years of experience know plenty that I don’t.

I will say I was sure expecting better for a game on the Switch vs the previous handheld iterations. My “optimism” is more like a sliver of hope that we will eventually get the game we want, because I sure as heck w...

I enjoyed Yooka-Laylee, but Banjo-Kazooie is the superior IP and I'm going to have to assume a sequel in the latter series under the direction of the team behind the former would be more similar to the former. On the other hand, Banjo-Kazooie isn't what it used to be anyways with Rare under MS's ownership, so...I expect I'd be meh about a Banjo sequel regardless...though I'd still play it.

That's cool, but not only would that involve going back to a game I've long since abandoned; I can't for the life of me imagine why my friends would want to watch me "interact" with my Pokemon. I have better things to do than watch friends who somehow still play Pokemon Go do the same, so I sure as heck wouldn't expect my friends to be interested in watching me do that.

Agreed. The included game, while great, is a port of a WiiU title. This bundle represents neither the best Switch on the market, nor the best/most must-have software for the current season. A Luigi's Mansion 3 bundle with the new model Switch (especially if it had a custom design) would be neat but that's not happening. I mean, there is one for the Lite, so there's that...

This actually makes a lot of sense from a business standpoint. There are likely tons of OG Switches that haven't been sold, and while uninformed consumers might still snap them up, an informed consumer who wants a standard model Switch (as opposed to a Lite) will obviously go with the new model over the original. Switches that don't sell are a loss for Nintendo. Of course they're going to think of creative ways to try and move them. It's up to those of us who are more info...

Agreed. Some games really don't warrant an M rating and I certainly think it covers far too large a range of content to really adequately serve as one rating, but in this case I can say I agree with this game's M designation.

It's also a prime example of everything wrong with modern review scores. Most sites adhere to a standard where anything below a 5 is considered mechanically broken, but there are a select few where the criteria is a little different. It is true that arbitrary numbers assigned to subjective opinions and the arithmetic mean they contribute to are taken way too seriously though.

Besides, even if this were a walking simulator (and there are clearly more game mechanics her...

Well, that's this author's opinion. It sounds like this is a game for people who want a focus on story and world-building over action-filled gameplay. Those looking for the former will likely get it in spades while those looking for the latter will likely not get what they bargained for. By the sounds of things this game is very much worth checking out but with the warning that it's clearly not for everyone.

Then why do games that fit either description sell, let alone get nominated for GotYs? There are clearly people who are into those kinds of experiences or, well...devs wouldn't make them. A game studio is a business at the end of the day and if something doesn't sell, it doesn't make money. That many of these types of games exist and continue to be made is a testament that they do in fact have a market.

Yeah, I think what I like best about the Aladdin remake is that it tried to do its own thing and isn’t just a rehash of a better film. I still like the original more but the Aladdin remake has a bit of its own identity and I’m glad I saw it.

I enjoyed The Lion King too, but the parts I enjoyed are parts from the original that were also often done better in that movie. There just isn’t enough in this remake that’s different that makes this version worth seeing over the ori...

That’s because their fans turn a blind eye to their shortcomings and get angry if someone so much as insinuates their products and services are anything less than perfect. You can’t talk about how an upcoming game of theirs could be better, that’s just blasphemy.

Because the rest will probably be in a game they release down the road as that’s more sales for Nintendo. Still, the fact that they didn’t so much as include the models and animations for those Pokémon...that’s the real problem here. Hopefully they won’t cut corners in future releases as you know those games won’t include some of the Galar region Pokémon and fans will want to transfer some of those forward.

Ironically, by trying to cater to the SJWs they’re being sexist by excluding a potential female character who would probably be fairly popular.
