I'm pretty sure most core gamers aren't going to up and renounce exclusives, and "making the switch" is awfully shortsighted. Buying an X to augment a Pro without getting rid of it will probably be more common, or making the switch from a XB1 or XB1S.

Built-in surge protector or not, how are gamers supposed to fit this console in their TV stand along with their other ones when MS thinks you should dedicate one socket solely to it? Sorry, but that really isn't an option for core gamers unless you have more than one wall socket in close enough proximity.

Well, the X has a resolution bump, but still shares its software with the original One. Graphics aren't just pixels and frame-rate. The actual polygons and textures count for something too. PS4 exclusives are able to take full advantage of the PS4 hardware, which the original XB1 can't match.

If you're that jealous get a PS4. A Slim is actually pretty affordable and even the Pro is only $400USD. A Switch will also cost you less than an X. If you choose pretty graphics over exclusives that's your choice to live with. Enjoy the visual upgrade but don't complain if it doesn't play the exclusives you want.

Like with anything, criticisms are always warranted for even the best games. How can games improve over time if we just pretend they're perfect all the time? Even perfect 10s for me are games where the flaws don't matter to me, but I'm of the opinion that the perfect game doesn't exist. Realistically, I'd never be able to say a game is a perfect 10, but my absolute favourite games get that score from me because there are so many positives.

Yeah, a percentage of console gamers have, but physical media is still really popular too. PC gamers are the only crowd where the vast majority have just dropped physical media altogether and only a select few actually buy games on disc.

Well, I think the future of Xbox depends largely on how successful the X is. If it does well enough, Xbox as we know if will likely have at least another gen in it. Otherwise, Xbox will probably be folded into MS's PC gaming division and become more of a service than a physical console. There might be an X box, lol, but it would be in the same vein as Steam Box, although probably way better designed.

I still by physical games and know a lot of people who do. I'm pretty sure it's just the PC crowd who has more or less completely renounced physical media. I actually default to physical games with notable exceptions such as many games being digital only, which I still play, or a really good Flash Sale. On the other hand, I don't often go out to go game shopping anymore, and often just buy games off of Amazon or something like Iffy's Online Store, which I guess isn't he...

Actually, most of the more vocal "feminists" are actually female supremacists. They're a class beyond regular feminists who just want equality and advocate for that without ramming it down everyone's throats or sucking the joy out of any room they enter. If anything, the vocal minority is sabotaging their cause rather than helping promote it.

In recent years I've found out that more women game than I thought. However, they got into games without needing ads marketed towards them, so why should marketing teams change their approach? Heck, some female games don't even seem perturbed by it, and they would play games even if they were, and I get that. As a guy, I'd still play games regardless of whether they were marketed towards me, largely because I'm not some casual who relies on marketing, but also because I jus...

Yeah, I'm sure designing a game world is a lot of fun, and bonus: unlike in a movie where even the most lit backgrounds aren't on screen for very long, game worlds invlove actually exploring the surrounding world, meaning set pieces generally have more meaning than simply being background aesthetics...at least in AAA titles.

Well, MMOs used to be the cutting edge of online gaming, even after a few titles in other genres dabbled a little in online multiplayer. Now however, so many titles not only have online multiplayer, but contain many of the staples MMOs originally brought to the table including lobbies, chat and player stats. Also, FPS, sports and fighting games have become the de facto genres for online play. Card games like Hearthstone also scratch an itch for PvP, and all the kids love Minecraft now. Th...

This would be interesting if Harvest Moon wasn't called Story of Seasons now, and anything called Harvest Moon after Natsume and Marvelous parted ways is actually a newer IP with the name that Natsume retained the rights to.

I already own the collection, so it would pretty much be for the statue and a "certificate of authenticity", so no. I'd love a new Bioshock though. I don't care if the same team is behind it as Infinite proved Bioshock games do not have to be like their predecessors, and can have any kind of setting.

Why would I be worried? Is the presence of a new system suddenly going to brick the one I own? If not then there’s nothing to worry about.

How about VC? They’re sitting on what’s potentially the best legacy system they’ve ever had.

Ummm...yeah. MTs in full-priced games are evil and should be regarded as such, but a person’s life is worth more than a game. There’s dedication to one’s hobby, and then there’s not having a life outside of it.

Good, because all the power in the world means nothing without exclusives.

Unless one of those features is games, I'm not interested in clicking the link. Given the list of upcoming XB1 exclusives vs upcoming PS4 exclusives, I'm guessing it's not.

And this is a surprise how? The X is a powerful system but maybe a tad too ambitious for the average user who doesn't want to pay for things like extra HDD space. It was obvious all along that this would be the most expensive console, and while I personally don't care that much about 4K assets, MS's system has something to offer those who do. You just have to be willing to pay for it.
