That's impressive actually. I mean, it took this long for the PS4 to outsell the Vita in lifetime sales in Japan, so that just goes to show how much better the Vita is doing over there. On the flip side, it's also impressive that a console would be Sony's best-selling system over there, where handhelds are far easier to sell for quite a few reasons. All this means is that Sony has done well in Japan.
Well, unlike the Wii where its success was built primarily on a fad, I think the Switch will continue to do well even after the hype dies down as it's built on a gimmick that's actually relevant to core gaming. The whole console/handheld hybrid idea is actually a great one as it can not only potentially function as the best legacy system Nintendo's ever had once they roll out their VC, but it's the most powerful handheld that can also play like a console when at home. Also, ...
Pity. I personally prefer physical in most cases, but it doesn't account for all sales anymore. It's unlikely that the rankings are that different when digital sales are compared, but that does account for a significant percentage of software sales. There has to be some way to get that data. I have a hard time believing it's completely non-existent. Maybe it's harder to collect it, mind you.
That's impressive. I wonder what digital sales are like.
Because a game like Hearthstone is F2P and MTs make sense in that, not to mention that it's a completely different genre of game? Also, the only price of admission for TCG/CCGs in real life is to have cards to play with. Heck, I think Hearthstone even starts you off with a basic deck (though it has been a long time since I've played it). Anyways, people tend to feel more entitled to content and despise MTs when they already dropped $60 (or $80 here in Canada) on a game.
I think it's an alright game. I just don't think Mass Effect and alright should be used in the same sentence. Try amazing, which is what I was hoping for but we didn't get. I've played much worse games. The hype train just struck again, big time.
Well, power is all MS has on the competition, so if they keep laying it on thick it's because it's their only ace in the hole.
Indeed. I really want some confirmation on where Jill has been since Revelations 2, and I think she's overdue for another game appearance, although maybe alongside another forgotten Resident Evil character. Come to think of it, what does Rebecca do for fun these days?
Also, I think the two Revelations titles we currently have are a great compromise between the old school and the new school. They contain elements of the classic titles, but also aren't afraid to tr...
Sony, hands down, although it helps that the Switch didn't launch until later this year. In terms of who won the months after the Switch launched, it's a much tighter race and I think both Sony and Nintendo will bring their A game next year. MS will have to step their game up if they want to be in the same league.
How can you "save" a feature that hasn't even been implemented yet? I think my suggestion would be to...have a VC.
Wow, I hate to say it, but it doesn't bode well if the XB1 can't move more units than the PS4 on the month the X launched...which is also the month of Black Friday, one of if not the most crucial day of the year to get some extra sales in, to finish out the year strong.
I'll care when there's a reason to. Until then, I've got better things to do...like posting a comment about an article about that thing I don't care about...ok, I think I just became self aware. What meaning does my life have? Nothing good has come out of this epiphany. Any advice on how to undo it? Screw the Ataribox. I was perfectly content posting comments about games before getting down to actually doing the thing I claim to be a huge fan of, and then someone just ha...
Learn and evolve? Back in 2013/14 they at least tried pushing exclusives. Now they think hardware is all that matters. If that's evolving I'll stick with whatever you call Sony and Nintendo's strategies. Maybe they've evolved from DRM? Ok, fair enough, not doing that is an improvement.
I'm sorry but like a lot of feminist initiatives, this one fails hard. All that has beeen accomplished here, is reinforcing the stereotype that female gamers are mobile gamers, aka, casuals. I know there are a lot of hardcore female gamers, and if I were one' I'd be offended by this.
Actually, I'm more sick of "random dev says X is amazing", and much more sick of BS like "singleplayer games are dying". The only context I care about with Switch sales is that Nintendo is doing well again.
Good for you I guess? I think you're missing out but whatever. You're welcome to be a hipster, but what exactly is the point of this article?
Thank you. I'm getting sick of all these articles where devs praise the X's hardware, and yet we don't see any about upcoming XB1 exclusives. Games before hardware. The Switch wouldn't be selling if hardware was all that mattered, and it's running circles around the XB1 sales wise.
Why? Sony doesn't have to choose between anything, especially not on the authority of a games journalist.
But EA says singleplayer games are dying off, and we should believe everything they say. /s Good on Sony for proving that they're a cut above some studios who think they're the authority on what gamers want.
I wouldn't say it's the worst thing ever. There's clearly some effort made on parts of the game while others could use more polish. It's biggest crime though is it just isn't what years of waiting and hype for a new Mass Effect game should have been. As a huge fan of the original trilogy I think it's alright, but that's a colossal problem because I shouldn't think a Mass Effect game is just alright. It also has the problems I've had with the Mako in ME1...
