I don't see the PS5 happening for at least another couple years. Sure the PS4 is no longer the most powerful console on the market but that's not slowing it down in sales...like at all.
Since when is being quiet a bad thing? Sony has a good rhythm going with its first party titles, and even third party support is pretty steady. It's also not just about AAA titles with them. PS4 gamers can choose among a wide variety of titles and are sure to find something to fit their genre preferences. Sure, not all such titles are AAA but not everyone cares about that. As for the not talking part, I'd rather support a company that speaks when it has something to talk about an...
Was this originally said in English or Japanese? I'm going to assume that's not what Miyamoto intended to say even if that's what he actually said. The sentence that follows that quote implies he's looking for people with a wide skill set, not that he's specifically seeking out non-gamers or casuals. I think he would like to have passionate gamers on staff, just not passionate gamers who have no idea how to program, for example.
I mean, if what he s...
The PS4 received so much first and third party support this year that we had to make some tough decisions. Like, do I play Persona 5 now or after Horizon? I was speaking hypothetically. I've beaten Persona 5. Still, so many great games, so little time.
Maybe not, but I'm glad Sony's first party studios aren't limited by "broad commercial appeal" when developing titles. I'd rather support a company that knows its niche and appeals to it than one that is always selling out.
PS4, if you have been following the industry at all in Q4. A word of advice for fellow journalists: don't make it obvious if you're not on top of the latest news.
I didn't get a new system this year, but I did run into another problem. *Inserts Horizon Zero Dawn Complete. Discovers it won't work until I upgrade my HDD.* Modern gaming is great, but improved visuals, worlds and features come at a cost. In some respects it's become quite ridiculous. Gone are Christmases when I would get a new game, insert the disc, and be able to play it immediately. Also, gone are the days when it took minutes to set up a new game console and be able to...
They need to realize that while hardware is important, it is games first and foremost that make systems worth owning. But, they never will.
It was already in colour if played on a Gameboy Color, but I'm guessing that can't be emulated based on the 3DS release, so good on the creator of this hack. Also, this looks better than the original game did on the GBC.
Is it strange that I think this game is better than FFVII? It's a graphically superior successor that ditches the noob-friendly approach to provide a deeper, more engaging system for an RPG veteran. About the only reason I can think of as to why FFVII is so popular is because it's the first JRPG many people played. It sure as heck wasn't my first though. The only annoying thing about FFVIII for me is having to draw MP, but the hoarder in me wouldn't let me miss a single dr...
I'm not clicking the link, but by any chance do these mistakes include having too many exclusives, and selling too many units? Eclipsing the competition in software sales by too large a margin? Focusing too much on what gamers want? Offering too many deals? If yes to any of the above I'll take Sony's "mistakes" over a certain competitor's triumphs.
Not all companies tried to screw us over. The ones who didn't just didn't make headlines for not doing anything that would call negative attention to them. I'm perfectly happy to support companies like Guerrilla while shunning companies like EA.
We wouldn't be heaping on EA if they didn't try to screw us over with Loot Crates in games that still cost full retail price. The hate is not unwarranted.
Exclusives don't matter...except when it comes to deciding which system to buy, and whether to stick with the one you own or also invest in another one. Oh wait...I guess they do matter.
Is it odd that none of these deals in particular excite me?
Knights of the Loot Crate Republic? No thanks. I'm assuming the author isn't up on current events.
I doubt it. I'm sure the Switch will be a reasonable success when all is said and done, largely because they've finally found a way to make their formula of cheaping out on hardware to focus on a gimmick appeal to core gamers, which is by making it a gimmick that is actually pretty handy and neat, as well as providing a solid lineup of games. The Wii sold a lot of hardware, but the casual market just isn't stable enough for long-term success and it had an abysmal attachment rate...
Franchises they should revive but won't because they're MS.
I love the anime, so sure, why not?
I'm holding out for this before I get a Switch. I'm surprised it didn't launch with the system actually. But whatever, I can wait. I mean, Nintendo is practically sitting on what's potentially the best legacy system they've ever had with its design lending itself well to even WiiU and DS/3DS titles (which is no easy feat). If the system can run emulators for a variety of past systems including GameCube and beyond, then it should also be able to run various handheld emu...
