Eh...I'll stick with my PS4, thanks. I want a Switch to go with it, but I'm not starving for quality titles in the meantime.
Honestly, I think the modern industry is more flexible than ever, and now would actually be an advantageous time to try and release a retro-inspired 2D title in the vein of many of their past IPs, whether it be a new entry in an existing series or even something completely new that includes some of the best aspects of their popular 8 and 16-bit titles.
There was a time when a studio like Konami had to keep pumping out cutting-edge AAA titles to stay relevant, but now 8 and ...
If you have to conduct research into why Metal Gear Survive was a bad idea, you might be in over your head. If you want to stay in this industry, perhaps you should replace the clueless folk in charge with some who know what they're doing. Just a suggestion.
Only a gamer would try really hard to seek out something you don't actually want. Congratulations on your success though.
I've never had any ill will towards this game, and plan to check it out eventually. It was just apparent that it wasn't worth it at launch, especially at full price. It seems to be a great effort for a small indie studio. The mistake was in promising the moon and charging full launch price. More honesty and a decent price point would have greatly reduced the amount of flack the game received, and now that it's getting more content and is priced better, it appears to be a much ...

That is what an even numbered gen tends to be, although this particular even numbered gen has been especially full of remasters and rereleases of last gen titles so I guess that description fits a little more literally this time around.
Personally, I think every gen has its pros and cons and many of the great improvements we've seen between last gen and this one have had significant drawbacks. For every objective improvement...
Why? Everything that can be said about this game has been, and then some. I actually plan to check it out one day, but I'm waiting for that sweet $20 price point. I live in Canada, so I might have to hold out for a sale.
@Eonjay Yeah, sometimes I wish MS's PR department would STFU, especially since it hasn't actually done them as many favours as they think. Ending the current gen won't be an automatic turnaround for them either, as Sony is definitely planning for the future too. They need to figure out where they went wrong this gen so they don't make the same mistakes, or Sony will trounce them again. I mean, gamers already know where MS went wrong, and here's hoping their latest E3 co...
At least we learned that money is MS's language, and we can use that knowledge to ensure we don't get screwed over in the future. Heck, while we're at it, we should use the same knowledge to send a message to EA and any other company pushing for an all streaming future, as that seems to be the latest DRM tactic.
I'm sorry, what planet was this article written on? Are we talking about the same company that started off this gen by attempting to commit treason in the form of DRM, and only backpedaled because no one was pre-ordering their system? As I recall, their "formal apology" for that only amounted to "sorry you didn't like our idea". They also had a similar debacle surrounding their "always on Kinect" that Germany was going to ban for fear of constant surve...
Even numbered gens tend not to reinvent the wheel, but they're comfortable gens as they build on what came previously and still provide better graphics, among other things. Besides, who ever said that things absolutely need to be shaken up? I'd take quality over "creativity" any day if I had to choose, and I think the 8th gen has provided just that.
It will surpass 100 million without Spider-Man's help, but maybe.
The Switch is doing quite well, and is a remarkable turnaround for Nintendo, but the PS4 is consistently outselling it month after month. You don't even have to understand math to know that the gap is getting bigger. I think the XB1 is a different story, but the Switch has no chance of catching the PS4 unless things change drastically in its favour, and even then the sales gap would take years to bridge, at least.
I can see this happeneing, but we all know that if MS does it they will advertise their discless SKU more, then if that outsells their SKU with a disc drive they will use that to justify a statement that digital is taking over and proceed to focus more on digital, streaming and GaaS.
Glad I recently snagged these in a Flash sale.
I've had many games do that for me over the years, from all the mainline Personas, to the original Mass Effect Trilogy (making it all the more curious that I still haven't finished Andromeda). My advice is, when a game gives you that kind of experience, don't try and find another game right away that will top it, and don't immediately jump into another heavy hitter. I often take a break and play a smaller, indie type game or something and take my time contemplating which wil...
Like every Persona game since I fell in love with the series with Persona 3. Personas 3 FES, 4, Golden and 5 didn't disappoint, and neither did the Arena games (which aren't as good as the mainline games but I didn't expect them to be and enjoyed them in their own right).
Currently, my most hyped game is the upcoming Spider-Man. I don't think that hype is misplaced.
Yes, preservation is a huge issue. Online games cease to be after their servers are shut off, and that's the sad truth. That's a kind of heartbreak that is only going to become more commonplace, especially if companies like EA get their way and change the gaming landscape to their liking (which I as a gamer will join others in resisting).
I can see MS making a move like that, but not Sony. I think there's a possibility of both companies releasing slightly cheaper SKUs for their new consoles that don't have disc drives, but I'm positive Sony will still allow consumers the option of physical media. For all their talk against physical games I think MS will continue to have that option too, albeit while marketing the heck out of their discless SKU.
You might want to edit the headline, as I think you meant to say "...Every Villain...", not "...Ever Villain..."
