I would say at least someone has found a fresh way to grasp at straws to try and downplay this game, but I believe I saw another equally dumb article to this effect yesterday.
I just like owning my games. I might snag a digital copy if it's on sale for much cheaper than a physical copy or if it's a digital only title, but I generally buy physical games where available. With the game apparently surpassing 8 million in sales, the only reason I can think of for them not to make a sequel is if they hate money.
It's also worth noting that the best selling systems in Japan tend to be handhelds, since people in Japan are always out and about. Even the Vita did quite well there for the longest time. The PS4 is actually doing excellent for a console.
Great article. I think a big part of what makes the latest Spider-Man so solid is that it's tailored to the character. It's great that you've considered different devs for different characters as although more Marvel games would be great, merely dropping different characters in Spidey's Manhattan would not be sufficient.

Hmmm...unfortunately the picture we get is shaped exclusively by what both parties allege, so we will likely never know the real truth. Situations like this are rarely completely one-sided. Putting a proposal in a huge AAA game like this was still a really neat gesture, but I guess it's true that we don't know much more than that about the relationship in question or either party involved.

And? What if we happen to like these kinds of games? I don't think the goal of this game was to reinvent the wheel, but to give us the solid Spider-Man experience people have been craving that refines what has worked in past titles and fixes what hasn't. I believe Insomniac is even quoted as saying something to that effect. I'm sorry if it's too much about swinging through an open world for your liking, but...isn't that what an open world Spider-Man game should be?
The license probably helps a great deal, but if the game wasn't solid it wouldn't be shifting as many units as it has. Licensing alone can only do so much. Thankfully the quality is also there to make this title worth owning.
Censorship is not the solution. Making it clear that certain games include explicit content so those who are either too young or would be offended by it know to stay clear is.
