I wonder how XB1 players are going to follow the story of this one, assuming it builds on the ongoing story from the previous games?
Jersey Devil comes to mind as an underrated PS1 game that I would have loved to have seen on the Classic. Tomba 1 and 2 as well, although I don't know if they qualify as lesser-known.
The Skylight Freerange games come to mind. That or the vast majority of ZX Spectrum titles I played on that phone app compilation I had, because I was curious. If I've played anything worse it's probably a suppressed memory that I can't access.
Agreed. Especially since there are still some "legacy characters" missing, some of whom were dropped for no reason after the previous games. Enough so to fill a third season pass actually. Moreso if you add in characters like Baek and Wang who supposedly died in Tekken 6, or other legit legacy characters who haven't been seen outside of the Tag games since Tekken 2, but there's really no in-universe reason why many other characters didn't make it over from Tekken 6 or...
I can't choose just one. Once or twice a gen, sometimes more, a title comes along that resonates deeply with me, but I have to have played hundreds of games over the course of my life and even my list of all time favourites is too large to pick a definitive winner. The PS1 had greats like the Tomba games, Tekken 3 and Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, among others. Fast forward to the PS4 and great titles seem to come out every year, from last year's Persona 5 to this year's Spider...
The characters I normally use were all in the game from day 1, but I've decided to hold off on principle until all the regulars are there, so I totally understand not getting the game right away. At the very least this game is getting there. I'm hoping there will be a season 3, but if this is all we get, it could be worse. Maybe I'll consider checking it out now but I'll think about it. Is it still priced at $130 CAD if I want the game and all its content or has that come ...
Sweet! I might check this out soon. Who else is still missing? Bruce, Christie, Ganru, Raven and Zafina? I really want to check out Tekken 7, but when the devs decided it was a good idea to give longtime Tekken fans the middle finger, I decided I would wait for the game's roster to be to my standards and for it to be at a reasonable price for all content before I buy it. It looks like that may be a reality soon.
Right. As we all know, good things happen when we let Americans dictate "global standards". /s Here's an idea: how about parents start taking responsibility and stop letting their kids play games that aren't intended for them. By that logic mature content should be censored in tv, movies, books, etc., because there are more avenues for said content than just games, and the only way to truly shield the children from it is to ensure it doesn't exist in any medium. But...
You mean the standard going forward should be to put features first and games second? I disagree.
Super Mario World. I was four years old and my older cousin had a SNES and that game. The first time I played it, I walked into the first Goomba in the first stage and died...but I was hooked. I did better each time I played it. I looked forward to visiting my cousin, and didn't want to go home when my mom said it was time to go. Two years later I got a game system of my own...although curiously enough it was a Sega Genesis.
Perhaps companies shouldn't expect us to think to keep games that aren't well received in our collection in the off chance we like what they become down the road. Well, as we're talking about a GaaS title, so...companies behind such titles shouldn't expect much in the way of continued subscriptions. First of all, we should obviously never invest in certain titles right away, thus ensuring that they initially flop. Secondly, if someone isn't satisfied with a title, what ...
Even if that's somehow true, I'm sure it has sold millions less than it would have had it been an actual decent product. Bethesda also clearly didn't get the memo that standards have gone up, not down, as 2018 has been a phenomenal year for games and this piece of trash came out just after the legitimately excellent RDR2. Way to make yourselves look incompetent by comparison Bethesda, and I don't think looks are remotely deceiving. Pathetic.
Well, clearly if their math is off, it's not at all surprising that they couldn't program a more stable engine.
Indeed. Although the headline is clickbait as Nintendo needs to sell more units in lifetime sales than the PS4 if it wants the actual number one spot, and that's not happening in a year, especially if it only moves .2 million more units than Sony does.
I personally think it was more a victim of Sega's poor business model than being ahead of its time. Case in point, it wasn't just the Dreamcast that tanked. Sega left the console manufacturing scene and went third party. The Saturn didn't do all that well before the Dreamcast, nor did the Sega CD or 32X. Sega clearly had deep pockets, but they weren't infinite. The Dreamcast may have fared at least a little better if Sega wasn't in trouble even before it released.
I'm sure Sony will do something, even if it's not an actual stage show. At the very least, they're clearly working on making 2020 a year to remember. Even Sony can take it easy for a year. It's not as though their position is going to change just because they won't get on stage at E3 in what isn't shaping up to be a very pivotal year for them.
You must have caught a sale that I missed. Oh well, I'll get my chance to play these remakes. It just didn't happen at launch.
Because they wanted people to cancel their pre-orders and wait until they can get this collection for really cheap. That's what I'm doing at least.
Why am I not surprised that this is a Gamingbolt article? They can't give credit to Sony where it is due to save their life.
I don't recall them ever not being viable. I do however, recall some companies getting bent out of shape that these games don't generally work with a GaaS model and make it more difficult to extort more than the initial cost of the game out of the consumer beyond the occasional bit of DLC. From what I recall they created a rumour that single player games were dying and even paid off big-name individuals to say things to that effect, in the hopes that they really would die off. I bel...
