Let's hope the consumer has the foresight to crush this dream that companies like MS are trying to shove down are throats and buying the loyalty of companies over. At least one consumer will have none of that.
Nintendo didn't invent plug-and-play consoles. Get your facts straight.
Someone must be very offended about that. I'd be offended that they're offended, but that would be a waste of thought. Instead, I'm just thankful people trying to be good won't have to miss out entirely on the joy of gunning down individuals, because as we all know, all gamers are secretly psychopaths to varying extents who hate all white people, according to the unbiased authority that is the NRA, or secretly Nazis and/or KKK members who hate anyone who isn't straight, ...
*Claims not to car either what people say. Posts article for people to comment on.*
Well, they can join companies like EA on the list of major studios who don't understand gamers. People will play Hearthstone on mobile, because that's a game that suits the platform, but if they think gamers want their MMOs on mobile...I guess they're going to find out if it lives up to their expectations.
Unlikely, unless something seriously changes, which I'm not banking on. Xbox needs to do better, and PlayStation needs to seriously misstep or next gen will more than likely play out much like this one.
"Blizzard's entitled fan base" is going to be so interested in reading your article. /s Also, is there a law against disliking mobile games or something? People have every right to be unhappy that we got this BS instead of a proper follow-up.
I feel like they have their markets confused. Gamers like games to be on platforms that's can provide a reasonably substantial experience...and with a proper control scheme to boot. Casuals might prefer mobile, but they'd probably rather play Toon Blast than a Diablo game.
Great. I'm not.
Ummm...no TONYJAMES404, if Sony wanted people to forget about the past, they wouldn't be releasing stuff like the PlayStation Classic (as iffy as its lineup is), and they wouldn't be remaking old games. Actually, not to be pedantic, but this is the first remake of a PS1 title that Sony is actually doing, so I don't know what you're on about. Crash and Spyro were made by Activision and the Final Fantasy VII remake that I'll believe is happening when I see it is a Square E...
Well, since it's ok for XB1 console exclusives to be called exclusives, I'm assuming the same applies elsewhere, but yeah, console exclusives are not actually exclusives.
I admit I had to look this one up as I don't follow the indie scene as closely as some, but this one looks alright. I might check it out when it comes to the PS4.
Really? Because I personally think EA and Xbox need to do something if they want to even come close to competing with Steam.
@Eidolon Can't you apply that logic to all games in any sale ever though? If you don't end up playing the games you buy, then yes, even sales priced games are a waste of money. Actually, the logic you put forth applies to literally any product ever made. I don't care about knitting, so I wouldn't be interested in knitting implements even if they went on sale. If you're not at all interested in what's being offered, then it's not recommended you spend money on t...
I'm getting more of a classic Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Stardew Valley kind of vibe than an Atelier vibe with this one, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
@PhoenixUp I think sites like this feel obligated to mention whatever XB1 exclusives are out, whether they're on par with those of their competitors or not, as that way they sound neutral in the console war. Of course, that might also be part of the reason why Xbox executives have a difficult time seeing the difference in their lineup when compared to the competition.
For casuals? Are you kidding me? If that crowd isn't content with their phones as their primary gaming devices, then even they probably want something like a Switch that has substantial software support. This company's barking up the wrong tree unless they can provide something comparable, or at least much cheaper. I'm sure it will go the way of other failed attempts to get a piece of the console market.
I do think a second classic console is planned, judging by the fact that a not insignificant percentage of the games on the list are games that I've either been told have better sequels, or I can personally verify that. Some make sense from a story perspective, as I personally think of Syphon Filter as an ongoing story that works best if the player can start at the beginning. Granted, it also works best if you can play games 2 and 3 as well, so it's a bit of a dick move if we need t...
I might get flack for saying this, but I kind of feel that NES is a little too archaic even by retro standards and the vast majority of its games would appeal best to the nostalgic crowd who has fond memories of the systems. That's going to be true to varying degrees with all retro systems, so perhaps it's best not to apply today's standards to any of them, but...NES just doesn't appeal much to me at all, and I can go back and play classic games for the most part.
My interest in this game keeps hitting new lows.
