It is if these studios are used beyond the obligatory one game to boost the lineup of the next Xbox. It's possible MS has turned over a new leaf with these new studios, but only time will tell. They shouldn't do what they've done with past studios they've acquired if they want to succeed long term.
Are you insinuating that they should take responsibility for a change? Pfft. They're dealing with it as you would expect: by adding MTs. Never change Activision. I mean it, with so many quality releases coming out this year it makes it so much easier to pass on your games in favour of something better.
Yeah, the number one reason why I rarely buy new releases anymore is because they're just getting backlogged anyways. Why pay for the pleasure of enjoying the game right away if...I'm not actually going to do that. Spider-Man is the most recent exception, because I actually did do that. But, there are so many others that I just backlog when I get them.
Yeah, fans will be so engaged when they find out there will be MTs. They're going to be beyond thrilled to shell out for the DLC and then have the option to spend more money! /s
If a prof funded it, they're probably the kind that's working on their masters, and not the kind that actually has a PHd. Actually, I only have a BA and can tell that this is BS. I question the university that funded this. Did the student union run by undergraduates approve it or something, and somehow didn't have to run it by any actual faculty? It reads like a project for a Qualitative Methods class that wouldn't get an exceptional grade.
I haven't been keeping up with info on this version of the game, but none of the previous videogame versions of Magic I tried were the real deal. If we could get a version where the player can acquire cards and make custom decks and battle players online with said decks, essentially playing what feels like a virtual version of the actual card game, then maybe it can compete with Hearthstone. If it's just like all the other versions I've tried, then decidedly not.
Who knew people would go where the games are?
@ElementsUnknown Right you are. There is absolutely a value to qualitative research as even though the sample size is never even close to the bare minimum for a statistical study, its strength lies in being able to go more in depth and learn more about the handful of participants you have. But, generalizing is not the point of qualitative research. Quantitative research is often cited to support any such inference, if the study itself isn't mixed-methods, but usually the researcher jus...
I've never heard this term before, in spite of spending some years in university getting my sociology BA. *Reads article* Hmmm...while it is highly likely that some men channel their "masculine spirit" towards pursuits of a more technical nature, I'm not convinced that this is at all toxic towards women. By that logic there's nothing that guys can do that wouldn't be considered anti-feminist. I don't care if you're male, female or some kind of sentient ro...
It's possible, especially with companies trying to force an all-streaming future and gamers not being amused. I never thought I'd say this, but thank goodness for my backlog. Personally, I'll cross that bridge if we get there. No use fretting about something that has not yet come to pass.
Alright! I'm looking forward to it!
I'm so glad I'm not getting this. Between players getting punished with a temporary stat drop for being murderous, MTs galore, and now the news that this game is going to take up an inordinate amount of HDD space between this massive patch and the install size that isn't even included in that 96.6GB, I think I'll pass. It's not looking like one of the better Fallout games, that's for sure. Also, now that Bethesda has announced they're in support of an all-stream...
It will be interesting indeed when no one plays this.
@franwex Good on you. I hate the current political climate as identity politics have crept into discussion on virtually anything as of late and it's becoming infuriating. I will judge a product based on its merits or lack thereof, and draw my own conclusion. Of course, this is precisely why I will not be partaking in this particular game. It's looking more and more like a typical EA MT-fest and just a total cash-grab in general. I have a massive backlog as it is and some Spider-...
It doesn't matter what it will be called if it never gets out of development hell. The name will also be irrelevant if it bombs as expected in the event that it does actually come out.
Sure, I'll embrace a future where I wait for the complete edition of SE titles and never, ever buy them at launch. Heck, I'll even wait for a price drop on that complete edition. If they think I'm buying into their subscription model, they can bite me. They're lucky they're not on my boycott entirely devs list.
@FallenAngel Must be because he's white. No one has time to address racism against white Italians. Now, if he were of a different colour, people would be up in arms over that kind of stereotype. I'd say Italians should raise a fuss about this, but that would just lead to future Mario titles downplaying anything stereotypically Italian about him and Luigi, if not outright removing it. You know what? This culture of identity politics in general needs to just go die in a dumpster.
@Spurg Let me know when those proper games come out. Sony and Nintendo are consistently leaving Xbox's annual lineup of exclusives in the dust.
No skin off my back, personally. If a company releases a game I'm not interested in, I just won't check it out. Given that a lot of other people sound like they're also not interested, I hope Blizzard is prepared to lose money on this venture, and next time they can maybe put some thought into what their intended audience actually wants.
Well, here's definitive proof that MTs aren't worth it. On the other hand, idiots like this are why we have them.
