I think X-Play will give KZ2 a good score. 9+
Co-op is nice, when it is implemented well, but it is far from being a required feature. Think about it, Bioshock not only had no co-op, but it didn't even have a multiplayer mode at all--yet it received some of the highest scores ever for a FPS.
Killzone 2 should not be marked down for not having co-op. Guerrilla are giving us more than enough of a well-rounded gaming package to complain.
I guess Guerrilla had to save something for Killzone 3. ;)
Very true. In fact, I think it is the first time that a game has ever matched or surpassed its pre-rendered target video. That alone makes Killzone 2 stand out big time.
I remember during the Halo 3 beta people were saying that it was going to look much better when it finally released, but nope, it ended up looking pretty much the same. People couldn't believe that it was actually going to look that mediocre and had to believe that Bungie was just testing the gameplay and woul...
I agree. An impartial reviewer would never begin their review with such inflammatory fanboy-like comments.
This reviewer definitely came off as biased.
I know. I can't wait either. What's nice, too, is that several of my Xbox 360-only buddies are buying PS3s to play this game, so it will be nice to get to play with them. Killzone 2 is a true system seller.
@ Pixlshex
That video made me LOL. Very funny.
Anyway, the review is nice. Another great score.
I kind of know where you are coming from, but I am sorry, I loved Uncharted so much that I was actually looking forward to another adventure with Drake more than a new Jak game. Uncharted is one of my favorite games of all time.
Arghh....I can't wait. I already knew the multi-player was amazing from the beta, but it is nice to see that the single player campaign is holding up to that lofty standard.
It's not a frame-rate issue, it is just a slight pause caused by loading between major areas. It runs smooth as butter 99% of the time.
Halo 3 had it far worse, by the way.
I would pay full-price just to get to play more of the awesome multiplayer modes.
Killer game, no doubt about it.
Nice! Another great review and score!
Killzone 2 is the real deal.
I got it preordered and I can't wait. The gameplay looks so intense and the multi-player...well, the multi-player was just awesome in the beta.
Several of my Xbox 360-only friends have bought or plan to buy a PS3 just to play this game. This game is the real deal.
At least I don't have to pay out the @ss to get a larger harddrive for my PS3.
The Xbox 360 harddrives are exorbitantly expensive. That is why I am still stuck with my original 20GB harddrive and have to constantly erase things.
The PS3 is more expensive because it is a better-built machine with built-in Wi-Fi and Blu-ray playback. I thought everyone knew that.
The problem I have found with copying games to my 360's harddrive is that it doesn't seem to make most of my games run better. In fact, it actually makes many of them run worse.
Mandatory installs are not ideal, but if they make the game run better, I'm all for it.
It's for creative and original games like this that I love Sony's first party output so much. Keep them coming Sony.
The Xbox 360 is a pretty nice console, aside from its high failure rate. Personally, though, I prefer my Playstation 3 a bit more.
MGS4 is one of the few true gaming masterpieces. I love it and there is no doubt that it deserves all the accolades it has received.
I have to admit, though, that trophy support would make it even better.
Uncharted 2 is one of my most anticipated games and it is not listed.
Halo Wars doesn't interest me, to be honest.
Killzone 2, SF4 and RE5 are the games I am most looking forward to in the next couple of months--especially Killzone 2.
I am tired of the inconsistency in gaming journalism.
A FPS like Bioshock can not only lack a co-op mode, but can also lack any kind of multi-player mode, yet still receive 10s.
Killzone 2, on the other hand, has an exceptional multi-player offering, but some reviewers feel the need to mark it down for its lack of co-op. COD4, however, somehow didn't need co-op and deserved high 9s and 10s. Come on people, we need more consistency.
Nevertheless, not ...
I am really surprised to see such a high score from GamesRadar after all the negativity they repeatedly put out in articles up until now.
But it's nice to see that they liked it so much.
