I agree that co-op would have been nice, but it isn't a requirement.
Letting other FPS games--like COD4, Bioshock and Half Life 2--off the hook by making excuses for them is just lame. Either co-op is a requirement for FPSs or it is not. Killzone 2 getting marked down for not having co-op is inconsistent given that those other FPS games were not scored lower on account of their lack of co-op.

I think Gamespot are taking the right approach with this review and I feel like they are going to give us an honest review.
Of course, it depends on who reviews the game, but in general I think that they will be fair.
Aside from a couple off the wall comments from that Andre guy, they seem like they really like it and want to give it the time that it deserves before writing their review.

It has received almost purely scores of 9 or above, so how can anybody be disappointed with that?
Like Kleptic, I do find it annoying that other games were over-scored in the past, which gives an inaccurate comparison between Killzone 2 and other shooters. It's the inconsistency in game journalism that bothers me, not the particular scores that have been given to Killzone 2 (which have been extremely high).

Of course. Any game getting scores in 90s range is a must-play experience--especially if you are even remotely a fan of the genre.
Killzone 2 has been one of my most anticipated games for quite some time, and now after all the high scores that it has received I am even more excited for the game. Only a couple more weeks left to go.

Doesn't mean much. Halo 3 has 15 scores on Metacritic 89 or below. Gears 2 has about 10 scores in the 80 range.

Also, people shouldn't care if Killzone 2 gets a few scores in the 8 range, since even games like Halo 3 had at least 15 reviews in the 8s or lower and still had an overall very high score and fantastic sales.
I don't think anybody should be put off by a couple scores in the 8s range. After all, Gears of War 2 had plenty of scores in the 8s and so did most other big games. Besides, scores in the 8s are very good scores and usually indicate a game that should be experienced.

Sure it will. It's sitting at a 9.4 on Metacritic right now based on 30 reviews. It might go up or it might go down somewhat, but I would be willing to bet that when all is said and done it will still have an overall metascore somewhere in the 9s.
