"if the game was as amazing as Sony fanboys made it out to be then it would of sold better"

So, are you saying that games like Indigo Prophecy and Okami are bad games because they didn't sell well? Are you saying that the fact the Wii is outselling every other console means that it IS the best console?
Halo 3 is better than Gears of War? Etc, etc...

Sorry, but your reasoning sucks.

Another thing people need to realize is that first party software is largely designed to help make the console more attractive, not necessarily about making a huge profit on the game itself.

Nevertheless, Killzone 2 is selling well and I have no doubt that it will make a profit. Over the long run I also think it will help sell more consoles.

It's a fantastic game in any case. If Halo 3 has sold 10 million and Killzone 2 only sells 2 or 3 million, do you think I c...

@sGIBMBR

And the Wii is kicking the 360's ass, so that must mean its the best console ever, right?

Fanboys are retarded, but fanboys that talk about sales are the most retarded of all.

(When I say 'talk about sales', I mean talk about sales as if they decide how good something is). Some of my favorite games are games that sold poorly, while some games I dislike are games that sold very well.

If you had any consistency you would be a Wii fanb...

Come on, Death, you can do better than that. Comparing the attache rates of Halo 3 to Killzone 2? As if that makes any sense.

Xbox is practically synonymous with Halo. The two words go hand in hand and to a large extent the Xbox 360 is still thought of as the HaloBox.

Comparing Halo 3 on the 360 to Killzone 2 sales on the PS3 is absurd.

In any case, I know which game 'I' like better.

No, I think what he meant is that even if you don't particularly like Killzone 2 you've got to be pretty dense not to understand why other people are still talking about it.

It is a very well-received, critically acclaimed game that many of us are loving the hell out of. Of course people are going to talk about it.

Do you really care whether a game you like sold 1.5 million or 3 million? If you do, you've got your priorities all messed up. I mean, seriously, that's pathetic.

Some of my favorite games of all time did not sell particularly well (Okami, for example) while some games I think are mediocre have sold very well (GTA4, for example). Or lets consider the fact that the Wii is my least favorite console this generation, yet it is destroying the other two consoles in terms of sales. ...

People who use sales as a gauge to measure a game's quality are the biggest losers around.

I know what you mean. Those 360-only gamers that say things like that truly baffle me.

I mean, I understand that not everybody is going to like every game, but when there is a whole list of well-received games that you just happen not to like, well, I find that a little suspicious.

Seriously, I own both consoles and I know what is available for both consoles, so when those 360 diehards act like there is nothing on the PS3, I just have to shake my head and say to m...

That's one thing I like about Sony's approach more than Microsoft's: their focus on taking risks and supporting a diversity of exclusive content.

I like both consoles, but so far there have only been a couple of exclusives on the 360 that I really care about; namely Mass Effect and Gears of War. Most everything else I have got for my 360 is multiplatform. Microsoft just hasn't done as well on the exclusive front as Sony has.

And the exclusives MS does come out with t...

I'm the same. Team ICO's games are masterpieces as far as I'm concerned, so it's really no wonder that I am massively excited about anything they might announce.

DarkSniper, whether you're serious or not, I love your comments. They are so well-written and entertaining. Bubbles for that.

Why when the capacities are similar would a console maker go with a format that doesn't have the support of all the movie studios and the added benefit that that would add to the console?

We're not going to need anything close to 500GB next generation and Blu-ray is already capable of that, so why would a console maker switch to another format that lacks the benefits that Blu-ray brings with it?

It doesn't make any sense. I can virtually guarantee that Blu-ray will ...

To be honest, even current capacity BDs will be enough for most games next gen.

And like you said there will be higher capacity BDs for those games that might need it.

So true, Bathyj. Bubbles for that.

Oh yes, like we need to see a last-gen looking version of Wii Fit on a 500GB holo-disc. jk

But seriously, what use would Nintendo have for such a large capacity format if their graphics are going to be a generation behind?

First, you have a lot of people acting like Blu-ray offers no advantages for games and that DVDs are just fine, yet we're suppose to believe that game consoles will skip Blu-ray and jump to holographic disc?

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. The truth is Blu-ray has been useful for some games, but many games this gen still haven't utilized the extra capacity. So, if not all games are even using the extra capacity of Blu-ray this generation, why in the world would game...

Why not keep your 360 and just save up and get a PS3 as well.

I got both and I love it that way. Although, I have to admit that my PS3 has been impressing me more lately.

Sorry, Chrissy, I have Resident Evil 5 on the 360 and Uncharted still looks a lot better to me. The textures, lighting and animation are all better in Uncharted.
