Guys, I love both the PS3 and the 360, but this is just silly. The 360 is doing very well and there isn't a chance that Microsoft would pull the plug on it. In fact, it is utterly absurd to think so.
Last generation Microsoft entered the market and despite being the new kid on the block ended up selling the second most consoles and creating a lot of mind share. This generation their console has sold at a far faster rate than their previous console and actually has managed to o...
Awesome, awesome post. I agree completely. Competition is good for everyone involved, especially the gamers.
Guys, the point is, the race is an illusion that only exists in the minds of fanboys. The companies care about profits. Gamers care about good games. Whether console A has sold more at a certain point in time is mainly of interest to fanboys who want to have e-penis bragging competitions.
If the 360 sells, let's say, 60 million consoles over its lifespan and the PS3 ends up selling 60 million in its lifespan the two consoles would have to be seen as equally successful. That's...
Sounds awesome. If a game is good it doesn't need to be that long (Uncharted comes to mind), but it will be nice in this case.
I can't wait for this game.
I can't wait to hear more about Splinter Cell Conviction. I am a huge Splinter Cell fan and this is one of my more anticipated games.
I already know that Sony have an amazing lineup. I am just waiting to see if Microsoft will announce some stuff to really get me excited. It does seem strange to me that they would save almost everything for E3, but I wouldn't count Microsoft out. I am sure they will have at least a few surprises up their sleeves.
I am excited for Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and Alan Wake and I would really like to get some info about when those games will come out and some kind of...
I agree that the PS3 has a far better lineup of games based on what has already been announced, but I wouldn't count Microsoft out just yet. Let's just wait and see what they announce at E3. They might have a few games up their sleeves.
I still think that it is looking like the PS3 will have the better lineup.
I think this 3DV tech for the 360 has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see what gets shown at E3. I'm also excited about whatever Sony is working on.
That's not true. I think Microsoft have innovated quit a few things in the video game industry. Things that were later copied by their competitors (many of the things they did with Xbox LIVE, achievements, etc.)
Hey I love my 360 for multiplats, but in terms of exclusives, Sony simply does better.
I mean the 360 definitely has some good exclusives, but a large number of its exclusives are fairly mediocre or they end up being multiplatform.
About 75 percent of the multiplats I buy for my 360, while about 75 percent of the exclusives I buy tend to be PS3 exclusives.
Absolutely. Insomniac, Sucker Punch, and Naughty Dog are some of the most talented developers around. Which is a big part of what keeps me coming back to the Sony platforms.
I agree that LIVE has a few features that PSN doesn't have, but most of the main stuff is the same between them.
Also, LIVE costs money while PSN is free. For some people those few features aren't really worth the extra cost.
Personally, I like them both. But I do have to admit that I don't always have LIVE because sometimes I don't have the money to afford it.
Uncharted 2 is one of my most anticipated games and it will be really nice to get to see a little bit more from the single player.
Well, it just depends on individual taste. For my taste Killzone 2 is a lot better than Halo 3 and a little better than Gears of War 2. Your tastes may differ.
Killzone 2
COD4
Gears of War 2
Resistance 2
Halo 3
Fear 2
That is about how I would rank some of the bigger shooters.
Even if MW2 gets nothing but 94 or 95s that still isn't that much better than the scores Killzone 2 received. Hardly eating Killzone 2 alive, as you naively claim.
Oh, and Killzone 2 is plenty fun. I play it all the time and I love it. Just because you apparently can't have fun with something unless it is on your precious 360 doesn't mean that it isn't fun. COD4 is fun for sure, and so is Halo 3. Although I wouldn't say I like Halo 3 as much as games like COD4 and Killzone...
I like reading reviews by some of the better game sites and magazines, but in the end I don't take the final scores too seriously. I read the descriptions and if I think it sounds like a game I would like, I try it out (preferably with a demo). If I like the game, I like it and I really couldn't care less what other people think of it.
For example, GTA4 got great reviews and to me it is only an average game. Uncharted got good reviews, but not as high as some other AAA games, ...
I don't think Prototype will flop, but I do predict that inFamous will get the better reviews all around.
In the end though, I don't care about reviews or sales. Try both games out and if you like them, keep playing 'em.
I haven't got the chance to play the inFamous demo yet, but I have heard awesome things about it.
I can't wait to find out more about what will be available on the 360 this year. The stuff that has been announced so far doesn't get me too excited (Halo ODST, etc.) Although they might not be coming out this year I can't wait to find out more about Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
I never played the PS3 version of the first game, but I did play the 360 version and I thought it was ok. With so many other good games coming out on both platforms Lost Planet 2 will have to really be heads and shoulders above its predecessor for me to consider getting it.
I don't know whether inFamous could be done on the 360 or not. What I do know is that it is the best-looking game of its type that I have seen.
