I feel exactly the same. Although this isn't for me, I've always found it quite disappointing (and as a PlayStation gamer, almost embarrassing) that Sony has never released an accessibility controller in the same vein as Microsoft's excellent Xbox accessibility controller.

It's a deal-breaker for me too. There are a couple of PSVR games that I want to play, but was never willing to buy the VR headset in order to play (like Astro Bot). Assuming it was going to be backwards compatible, I was planning on buying the PSVR2 as it would represent better value for money (playing old and all future games). Knowing that I wouldn't be able to play those older games means I have very little interest in shelling out the money for the new kit.

There is a server-side patch being released very soon to fix this. It allegedly won't be a problem for long!

I don't see this as a problem. If you're focusing on a character that's on rotation, you'll quickly have enough coins to buy them outright.

The game isn't perfect, and it is slightly lacking in content compared to its main competitors, but it's refreshing to see a F2P game that is so polished at launch.

Agreed. Battlepasses allowed me to enjoy Fortnite for a brief period of time, and not regret the money I'd spent, as I felt I'd got value for money.

I expect the same with Multiversus, but we'll see!

What an odd thing to say...

While I agree fully with you sentiment (AC2 is definitely superior to AC1), I'm puzzled by the claim (which it seems you are making) that Ubisoft should never have released AC1, but gone straight to AC2. The success of AC1 is intrinsic to the development of AC2.

Regarding the name, that's what I thought. "Survivor" feels so generic. It seems like one of those "go to" video game sequel titles like "Vengeance" (not that I can think of many games that use that...)

At the same time the name doesn't SOUND like it's a direct sequel. Wish they'd kept either "Fallen" or "Order" in the title.

Completely agree about Guardians. It really speaks for how good the story and characters are, that the gameplay can be so mediocre, but it can still end up being one of my favourite games of the last few years.

I always find myself looking at lists like this, and while I often disagree with the order (I would put DS3 much higher, and DeS a little higher too), I think the most fascinating observation is this:

Almost everybody who plays these games ends up with a different opinion. I think there's so many reasons why these games are loved, and so many nuances regarding the details, that it's possible to view them in very different ways.

I'm extremely excited to see what IO have planned for Bond. Every mission in the recent Hitman games gave me huge 007 vibes, so it seems like a perfect match.

I enjoyed every entry in the MotorStorm series. It was a brilliant arcade racer that was perfectly pitched for both casual players and hardcore gamers. At the time, it was some of the most exhilarating gameplay available on the PS3.

I feel the developers (and the teams they later joined) tend to make games with a good balance of "serious racing" and "wacky nonsense". Should be a perfect fit for the NFS series.

Totally agree. I played and enjoyed Catalyst, but it felt lifeless and repetitive.

The original was bold, new and exciting. That early level where you ended up traversing from the city rooftops all the way down to ground level... That was something special.

I actually found myself quickly preferring the versions of the characters in the game to those in the movies. Particularly Drax. His character was brilliantly written in the game.

The narrative also gave every character a time to shine, which I don't feel the movies have really achieved.

My feeling after completing the game was that a sequel could be REALLY special. I'm really holding out hope that we get one.

Even if they're just getting him to edit the scripts and rebalance the narrative, it will be beneficial. He doesn't necessarily need to be involved in the initial writing process.

Analysing something critically is very different from being able to create that thing.

@CrimsonWing69

You mean that new area on Dark Souls with all the new bosses and whatnot, including a PVP arena?

1551d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

There was a similar power in Infamous Second Son and Infamous First Light, and it never really got boring. I think you're right: a good developer could make it work!

As I mentioned in the reply to bunt-custardly above, the trophy data reveals that approximately 1/3 of players actually finish the game. The two statistics I mentioned were for Dark Souls games. Compare them to other popular games and you'll see that the pattern is consistent:

Horizon Zero Dawn: 31.8%
Deathloop: 26.7%
Control: 15.8%
Uncharted 4 (easiest difficulty): 38.7%
Uncharted 4 (moderate difficulty): 27.3%

Interesting then that 34.5% of players have achieved the "See the Ending" trophy on Dark Souls II on PS4. At the same time, 31.7% of players have achieved the "To Link the Fire" trophy on Dark Souls Remastered on PS4, which is only one of two possible ending trophies.

Seems like the series is consistent with normal completion statistics!

I'd never actually used magic (including weapon buffs) in any of the games until my most recent playthrough. Can't believe how useful those weapon buffs are, and that I'd never used them before now!
