Having grown up with regular visits to Cumbria and the Lake District, and being a Physics teacher who teaches about the exact location and the subject matter of this game means I'm already quite invested.
I really hope they deliver. If they can capture the feel of the area and what makes it such a unique part of England, it will really be quite special.
I'm not sure it's about greed. I am one of the fans who waited until the physical version was released (I've only just played it, as a matter of fact).
Remedy's games are a hard sell in most regards. The nature of the story appeals to a smaller group of people than the average game with it's level of ambition. As a result, and to ensure they can release the game they want to make, they are required to partner with companies that impose restrictions and m...
"Really minor" "tweaking and polishing" of the parkour system and progression.
I hope those aspects of the game don't have any problems once the game releases.
Even if it's just a single level every couple of months, it will be enough to keep me coming back to the game time after time. Though of course, more regular content would be even better!
I'd even be happy with some paid DLC. At this point, I'd be happy with anything as long as they don't overcharge for it (which, frankly, I can't see them doing).
The concept of large levels in a Borderlands game worries me. The Pre-Sequel had huge levels, and so many of the missions were spent going back and forth between areas.
To be fair, I've just checked it and it's listed as 6th!
But I get your point - there seems to be a growing tendency for people on here to disagree with basic facts.
To keep the level of creativity high, they'll likely have to change-up the idea of rescuing PlayStation-themed bots.
Regardless, I'm just hoping there are more levels based on franchises. The 5 themed levels in this game were some of the most fun levels in any game I've played. The sheer creativity in creating a genuine GoW experience in a child-friendly platforming game was genius.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't released early enough to be eligible for many of the awards. Which is a strange, considering the competition might be even tougher next year.
I felt the big mistake in the gameplay of the characters was giving each one three different abilities from which to choose. It weakened the ties between the character-narrative and the gameplay.
It was far better in BL1, 2 and the Presequel when each character had a central ability, which the player could construct their build around. It somehow actually resulted in more varied gameplay than in 3.
I'd forgotten all about Modnation Racers! What an incredible game that was. Such a shame that Sony didn't put enough momentum behind it!
Warhawk and inFamous too. So many great exclusives that have been left behind.
I think my favourite power-up is the Slow-Mo Vision. It's not exactly a new concept, but felt incredibly powerful in the level in which it featured. Riding the darts or jumping on the backs of the dolphins were amazing.
It helps that the level was quite vertical, meaning that there were a balanced number of areas where both regular Astro Bot and Mouse-sized Astro Bot were needed.
Not only that, but the majority of the puzzles and sections on the level made use of both, and even the transition between the two.

That may (or may not) be true. But it is irrelevant as Indiana Jones is not up for Game of the Year this year due to how late it released.
They only published that (and only in Japan, I think). The developer was Silicon Studio.
Ending with Bloodborne with the phrase "It's about PERSISTENCE"...
Could it be a sign? Could they be telling us to continue persisting in asking for more Bloodborne?
Tin foil hats at the ready!!
Definitely not all of us FromSoft fans. I would probably list Dark Souls / Bloodborne / Elden Ring as my favourite games, but I absolutely do not agree that Shadow of the Erdtree should be nominated.
Frankly, the whole thing is an insult to creativity.
Should the hard work of FromSoft be spotlighted and valued? Of course! They deserve an award of some kind.
Should other games be snubbed as a result? Of course not!
Especially as Elden Ring has already achieved Game of the Year status. It's not sending a great message to other hardworking developers if the same game is able to win twice.
Granted, there's a lot of new content. But it's still 90% the same game as the base game.
Why would it be a soulslike? Just because Neowiz are publishing it, doesn't mean they're directly involved in the development.
Lies of P was developed by Round8. Neowiz are game publishers (albeit with more involvement than some publishers).
Before Lies of P, Round8 were known for making a free-to-play MMORPG, while Neowiz focused on GaaS titles. Yet together, they made one of the better single-player games of 2023.
Great news, and impressive if they can stick to those dates. I wonder whether we'll see far more crossovers between the two franchise's as a result.
I suspect the FBC will be put in a position in Control 2 where they have to start actively trying to get Alan Wake to help them.
