To say that this dude's opinion about the game is in the vast minority and questionable is actually the understatement of the year.
To each their own, but something just ain't kosher about this review.
My personal take: Resistance is an absolutely awesome game...and has actually single-handedly gotten me interested in console FPS's, which I didn't care for till Resistance.
Blah ..
Blah blah blah .. blah blah blah ...
Blah blah blah blah bla ...
Blah blah blah blah .. blah blha blah.
it has nothing to do with the fact that it was actually Fold@Home actually launched yesterday.
Psst...A little secret: The rest of the world outside of Europe has been enjoying their wonderful PS3's since November.
A great buy, you say?...
INDEED!!!!
I say do it. It's win/win:
While all the fanatical drones from both sides will have a yet another reason to waste even MORE time by pointlessly bickering and making excuses as to why their console is losing the uh, "folding-war", they'll be cluelessly contributing to a reasearch cause which may one day be the determining factor for allowing them and their peers to continue to mindlessly bicker and make excuses as to why their console is better.
Scien...
With not a smidgen of an issue. Some folding and some playing.
Though I could swear it's a helluva lot hotter in that room now.
...but there's still no denying that the PS3 version was superior, right? Nor does it change the fact that I want this game, does it? Furthermore, pleaes be so kind as to point out where in my post I claimed that the PS3 was an overall more superior system than the 360, because I can't seem to find it.
...And you know what, I hope for your sake that the 360 does end up being the "better" system (as y'all so like to contend), because it's obvious from your ongoing ty...
upon watching the start of the video (demonstrating the 360 version), I was saying to myself "hey, that looks really nice." But by the time it went through the first PS3 footage, and switched again back to the 360 version, the 360's absolutely paled in comparison. It just looked bland, while the PS3's had an element of depth and richness to it.
OK, I'm sold. Add another one to my wish list.
Duke's an icon, bud. Not since those memorable Duke 3D sessions back in the 486 CPU days has there been a more awesome, grittier, and colourful FPS character.
and lest not forget: 3rd generation, hi-res hookers!...woo hoo!..."shake it baby!"
I urge you to check out this game..uh, "when it's done!"
But that's just it: I can clearly see that these scenes are far more complex and detailed (assuming that these are really in-game), but there's just something about them that compel me to question whether I find them more visually appealing than their predecessors.
SDF = MORONS
Yeah, go ahead boys, and shoot the rest of us level-headed PS3 owners in our foot too, why dontchya!
Nice work. Looking forward to it!
THAT'S the word I was looking for!
...could it be it looks TOO stylized for its own good???
You have just single-handedly justified why you should be immediately revoked of your rights to contribute to this website.
Ignoramus.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I mean, the lighting is much improved...like night and day, but there's just SOMETHING about the new pics that I can't quite pin-point...umm, over-saturated colours?
Nonetheless, if they can manage to pull off fluid in-game animation with that kind of detail, it would be quite a feat.
Looking forward to it.
...nor do I care to, quite honestly.
But the best solution to your dilemma is to do what I did and reach for that God-send of a hyperlink aptly labeled "IGNORE."
I promise you that upon doing so, it'll feel like a breath of fresh air, and make the thread seem more...and call me crazy here...sensible.
BTW: Keep up the good work with your submissions.
Given the source, I couldn't help but be curious to see if the pendulum would swing in the favour of MS. Instead, the writer did a fantastic job at pointing out the significant strengths and weaknesses of both competing consoles.
The only (insanely-common) misconception I'd like to point out, is the author's claim that the Sixaxis battery is inaccessible. This is far from the truth, considering that Sony even went to the point of including illustrated instructions on how to d...
I dunno, his comments sound pretty logical and level-headed to me.
Your above unsubstatiated, oh-so-matter-of-fact statement, on the other hand, has ME scratching my head.
Perhaps you should be so kind as to drop Mr. Rein a line and straight out the poor uninformed, misguided chap, hmm?
What time zone is this referring to?
You guys are gonna absolutely LOVE Sony's sweet lil' black wonder-box!
I envy the fact that you guys can actually walk in on launch day and easily pick one up...because here in Canada (and more so in the U.S.) the experience was absolute Hell.
Good on Sony for delivering.
Enjoy, and welcome to the club!!!
EDIT: Somewhat along the same lines: does anyone know whether Sony's European network is tied in with North America's? (i.e., for ...
Is there actually official clarification writting somewhere, confirming the function of those blue & yellow lights on the world map?
BTW: Over three days voraciously crunching numbers and counting...the PS3 is a beast...a BEAST, I say!!!
DEEPBROWN: Did you end up getting a PS3 since your launch, or are you still waiting it out?
