Will get R2 and KZ2 before getting this one though...

Just look at the average rating for games. Most of the PS3 games has age rating. That simply indicates the audience that they catered for with the PS3. I know my wife complained that she does not want the kids to play violent games - like R:FOM, AoT, COD4, MGS4 etc. She is happy that we got LBP. And believe it or not, the kids pulled out Spongebob and started playing that again. Now not everyone buys a PS3 for the kids - especially with the economy. Most people I know said they think the Wii ...
Is the core audience of the PS3 maybe now more hardcore? Maybe they shoud make LBP for PS2 - because the PS2 will be the "kiddies" console. Low cost, big library - cheap for the first time cash strapped gamer - or the console you get for the kids. PS3 is the "grown-up" console. The entertainment hub. Not the kid's toy. So the target audience shifted.
MS is most probably most affected by downturn - so they are part of cost cutting, hoping that third parties will carry them?
KZ2 - development of FPS core tech
- Eight Days, The GetAway can reuse some of the tech developed
EyeToy - development lagging (only EoJ), so need more dev of core tech
- When the core tech done, focus resources on leveraging the tech in new games
This is most probably the reason - they first need to develop the core technology in all aspects to make it available in games. EDGE tools etc. Otherwise they will have only games like fps, racing, tps, mmorg and not t...
KZ2 sucks. It is too good. Therefore we have to mark it down 2 points. Take that.
My kids love the game... the smaller kids. Creating levels is fun. But I prefer something like The GetAway, Killzone, R:FOM, MGS4. For me MGS4 get GOTY. LBP is innovative, playable, fun for the kids. If sales is low - it is simply because it is due to the previous games on the PS3. It is for adults. If this game was on the Wii it would sell 10 times more. On the XB360 it would do about the same as on the PS3. Simply because it is one of the first "casual" games, and real kiddy games...
BR is out for little more than a year...
It is gaining fast on the DVD market... Great growth figures...
With only a fraction on the installed players it is not outselling the Billion DVD players in sales.. oh no... it is failing...
How many times are we going to hear this drivel?
"Killzone 2 has a distinctive look to it, but the multiplayer maps don't really give the engine much chance to show off. There are lens flare effects and the weapons have plenty of detail to them, but the environments are very static with no movable objects or vehicles."
Wow... the vehicles now can not move. Please drive around and show him...
They lied... again... this time... they're going down...
Good riddance
If he (the one in the photo) is the person in question - his picture says it all.
I think I might be considering buying a XB360 for GoW2. Down here in South Africa the XB360 is R1,799.95 with 5 games included vs the PS2 for R1,699.95 with no games included. Seems like MS is practically giving it away now. It is about 30% less than the Wii and less than 1/2 the PS3 price.
Still worried about the reliability though. PS2 scratched some of my disks - but the PS3 is awesome - not a scratch on even the PS2 DVD's that I play on it. But still the PS2 experience made m...
Just looked at this bunch of items... they really went about destroying the environment...
Now this is the kind of things that absolutely destroy a site like Gamespot's credibility - or what is left of it. Anyone who has seen any bit of KZ2 now knows... Gamespot writes their reviews before opening the box. They tried in every way possible to downplay KZ2 while not sounding too biased - but they picked on the one thing where KZ2 actually seem to destroy any other game out there - ...
Must be in reaction to that other insignificant site who troll for traffic with the biased reviews.
PS2 price will come down...
Games already developed - so the prices will just drop on PS2 titles...
Outcome is that the PS2 will survive in Brazil and India, China etc for another generation at very low pricepoint.
They simply just need to repackage the PS2 games already developed. No platform can compete with it. Since the hardware on PS2 keeps dropping in cost, it will be so dirt cheap to manufacture it will be a crime.
Question is - how many times are they allowed to get away with this? How about a website - listing the (not every single slightly skewed article) really bad "reviews". The typical phrases used when desperate to downplay a game. Just to expose the so-called media for what they are. Because this blatant lying and downplaying has money behind it... and it generates money. The way to take away their money is to expose them - in such a way that most advertisers will not want to associate...
1. When RRoD is sorted out
2. When disk scratching is a thing of the past
3. When the DVD's come with the same protective coating as BR
At that point I will consider the XB360. It has a great lineup of games... but I am not having scratched disks, a DVD drive that sounds like a DC10 on takeoff, and an overheating beast that will either set fire to the house or RRoD when the action picks up. With HD installs - a 300GB disk will be a must, and of course - controller wit...
In some territories the PS2 is dead (Europe and USA mostly)
In other areas (India) it is just about to begin...
So it is dead, and very much alive...
Not so long ago the PS3 was heckled for a 5GB install...
Now the XB360 has 23GB installs...
So it is all OK now?
Oh... all right then...
Why this constant bashing of the original of the original KZ? It was great. Not a "buggy mess" as they say. I still enjoy it more than COD4 and Army of Two.
