In terms of graphics the two are now virtually the same. The one area is the BR space, and PS3 having a HD on all consoles. Ms is trying to come to terms with the new 20GB offer to try and get low cost HD in XB360's. I think the biggest drawback of the XB360 is the lack of HD. If tehy included a HD - a big one - then the whole BR point would be moot except for movies. For XB360 buyers - the best option ist to get a HD model - but still the Arcade diskless version is the single biggest drawbac...
Also funny thing about the gaming press...
If they reviewed the XB360 version with the install, and did not mention that load times will suck on the arcade version... but really harp on the fact that the PS3 required an install - then that is a bit dishonest eh?
But then... we know the "review" media bias by now.
Stop complaining
Looks like both consoles got good versions. Enough not to feel suckered into getting a poorer version. Exclusives will always be better. Multplatforms are good enough on both.
MAG sounds huge...
Pity internet in South Africa sucks
It requires the console to be plugged into a TV, and uses a controller with joysticks.
OK whatever
The anti PS3 media seems to be in full swing now...
MGS4 was great. No disappointment. Bring on MGS5
I have a BenQ Video Projector
Use the PS3 Component cable, and a component convert to VGA cable. Gives 720p on my video projector on the VGA input.
Encryption is a function of the software... not the format. You will be able to use the same encryption on a CD...
Same as the so-called "better picture quality" that the HD-DVD proponents threw around. Not a format of the disk itself. They will most probably try and tell us that the compression on RDM is amazing... ignoring the fact that compression is a software funtion...

Will have to get LBP for the kids...
KZ2 for me
The boys have been asking about R2 for quite some time... so that is also a 1st day buy
Now if they will just continue with The Getaway again... love the series...
Should rather read:
- Is the press exagerating anything about PS3 games?
Simple because LBP had a song that had to be removed it made the list? Or because Beta testing results in some errors showing - which is the point of Beta programs exactly... so the media jumps on it...
Kind of retarted really. I wrote many programs in my life - and bugs is a part of programming... It has nothing to do with the platform. Sometimes the media bias is just incredible...
They try to buy out competition products, lower price - predatory pricing, drive out the incumbent, rasie the price when they have the monopoly.
Same here - MS just trying to steal Sony franchises.
The number of anti-PS3 and anti-BR articles is just amazing...
And Pacman took nearly as long to beat all the levels. Bit less than Tetris though.
Get a life
Color differences is because of TV settings and pallette used. Can be made to look exactly the same. The washed-out and cartoony colors argument gets used depending on which version is brighter / darker / deeper colors. Invalid argument. The game is good enough to play on both versions.
South African Golfer
Nicknamed: The Big Easy
Had a bit of a slump the last few years, but been in the top 5 for quite some time...
A title like SOCOM...
Big franchise, poor launch. They should not have released it in this sorry state. Bad scores is he result. Learn from it.
If this is what either version looks like... then this game is gonna bomb...
And according to Nexgenwars
PS3: 11.8M
XB360: 20.8m
Wii: 23.8m
Now of ll the charts - Nexgen wars is the most optimistic about XB360, while estimating the others by at least 30-40%
So to throw my hat in the guessing game (because that is what we are all doing now) I would say:
XB360: 19m
PS3: 16.5m
Wii.... well, could be 30m now
With a PC where the graphics card alone cost double the total cost of the console... it better be looking better.
This article makes up stats to support its claims. The past two months more and more BR good news. This article sounds like it is written a year ago when HD-DVD was still a contender.
