Both seems to be doing very well? OK - the market is healthy. Neither "lost" or "failed". If this is failure I would like some of these failures as a business.
The problem is easy to fix. Put a better DVD drive in... which they did. Whenever they refurbish a machine, replace the scratching drives (seems like they did not). And then lastly - replace free of charge the scratched DVD's. Seems like in some cases they did - but only after the customer went ballistic. Bad show there. People don't just launch a suit like this with no reason. MS seems to hire baboons for their tech support in general. Just phone them for Windows tech support. It goes like: ...
Netflix is available on XB360 AND PS3
So the comparison goes: Purchase price BR vs Rental NetFlix
(So BR can not be rented?)
And where does this leave the Arcade HD-less users? Weird comparison. Or rather - when you decided your choice will win, why bother calling your rant a "comparison"? At least he admitted that BR image quality is best and not "barely better" as some reviewers tried.
So KZ2 is the best looking console title to date...
Out comes the FUD and mud slinging, the digging out of half-truths and outright lies to distract from the fact that KZ2 will rule console graphics... until Kratos is making his third appearance.
Wow... the quality of editorials these days.
What do they do? Hire monkeys?
No cover system
Vehicles handle like they are on soap
Limited weapons selection
Single player campaign too short
Online only limits audience
Any more moronic comments?
So widespread it does not sound like 1%
BR demand outstripping supply.
Kicking quite hard for something that is supposed to be dead. And this at Netflix - though they were on DL content.
RRoD issue raising hell... Press reports out that claim XB360 failure rate "within industry standards"
Class Action Suit on Disk scratching... Press reports / analysis that XB360 scratching is "low", less than 1%...
Well - less than 1% or 1% would mean about 200,000+ people have disk scratching XB360's.
1. MGS4 (No debate - just want it)
2. Uncharted (Don't ask why - beg for it)
3. Ratchet & Clank (Beg for the PS2 titles while you are at it)
4. LBP (If you have kids...)
5. Heavenly Sword
6. Warhawk
and maybe lastly... now don't laugh... Lair.
Am I serious? Well... if you can convince them to take away the scripted interfere-as-you-play cutscene, script forced gameplay, then this title would be one of the best titles. A GOTY contender in m...
Asif Uncharted was not already one of the best looking titles already... Now they had to go and make huge visual improvements... Now I will have to get this one too...
1.Gears of War (Yes)
2.Mass Effect (Yes)
3.Fable 2 (Maybe)
4.Left 4 Dead (No)
5.Halo 3 (Maybe)
Very likely. The work on shrinking the Cell has been ongoing for a long time so that is most probably a given. And the RSX is the one component that they could focus on. That would obviously mean lower power requirements (meaning savings on heatsink, motherboard), smaller case (savings on material, packaging, shipping costs) etc.
So the overall price of the components and materials would drop a bit - so a price drop would be very likely. Also with the PSone, PS2 slimline models ...
And here we were all thinking that BR is a sinking ship. It was never going to make a dent in DVD sales. It was dead the moment DL was going to take over on a XB360 without a HD...
Just follow the money and the FUD and you will know what is wrong with the "gaming media". Just paid for PR reps.
Just check the history whenever MS enters a market. Paid PR, FUD, loss leader, predatory pricing etc.
MS is losing Billions on the XB360. Just creative accounting to make it look good. It is not the first time they entered a market using the same tactics. For them underhand tactics is all in a days work.
Blu Ray wins, Red (HD-DVD) loses

Both are doing fine. Report on the interesting tech in the games.
They will come up with new categories to justify 3 year old RRoD hardware for some ?oY title. Same thing with software.
But the lineup for PS3 does look good for 2009
Here comes the FUD train....
