USB - the new DVD...
3rd Party Publishers will make corss platform titles. One of those things. Only 1st and 2nd party developers will make exlusives. Even if the PS3 is more difficult to work with, an extra million or two in sales is worth the development time for the publishers. Very few 3rd party titles will be exlusives. Especially in the current economic climate.
Look at the PS2. The potential market for console owners is at least 120 million. So - for the person who buys the console - the games released first will be new. For example - Wii Fit and Wii Sport. So what the game is two years old or whatever. For the new console owner - the game is new. With the PS3 - someone who buys the console now - R:FOM, R&C:TOD etc - is *new* games. They need to stay on the shelves, be bundled etc. And also - be advertised. So what if MGS4 is not the buzz *now* ...
Who are these people behind the press wave against the PS3? It is just a bit too obvious...
Are they desperate or something? Million sellers = flops. Selling more in two years than the XB360 means XB360=winner, PS3=sinking?
Hey - go back to school and learn some math...
No the PS3 does not need saving...
But those writing these articles needs saving from themselves...
Torture the figures - they will confess to anything...
Two years from launch and the PS3 sold more than the XB360. It will be out longer than the XB360. The three year warranty of the XB360 is over. The failures (RRoD) will effect game sales for the XB360.
Next year KZ2, GT5 and other exclusives. The XB360 needs all the help it can get from the media right now. That is why the sudden media frenzy. The XB360 price dropped below the price of the PS2 in some places now. They'...
Best game: LBP (just because they tried to hide their bias)
the next two had me howling with laughter...
Best Hardware: XB360
- oh wow... class action suits for RRoD, disk scratching, sounding like DC10 on take off, burning houses down.... 30% failure rate... and they think it is the *best* hardware...
Best Publisher: MS
- yeah - that is where the advertising money comes in... but... best for who? the reviewers? bloggers who get free laptops?
...
Strange how many blogs get posted as news. Seems to be the headline of the day to get hits... PS3 failed, Titanic etc. Must be a slow time for real news.
PS3 is expensive. Despite the price for YTD it still outsold the XB360. I just got a Makro ad today - the PS2 is actually more expensive than the XB360 Arcade... Go figure...
Wonder how much MS is losing on the XB360 at the moment. There is no chance that it is cheaper than the PS2 to manufacture... but then... with...
The PS3 BR is awesome. It does not scratch disks. The BR coating helps - but the PS3 has not scratched my old PS2 disks and music / dvd disks either.
The XB360 really needed the disks with the BR coating. They chose to put a cheap drive in it to keep costs down. They deserve the suit against them. But it should be very easy to fix this problem. Put a decent DVD drive in and the problem should be gone.
It is still in second place in sales... it's major competitor is slashing its prices to be even lower in some places than its previous gen (PS2) console. The PS3 will see a price cut - but they are in no sense in trouble. With the launch of the Sony Store the prices is much more competitive.
With a pricedrop the PS3 sales will increase and stay ahead of the XB360.
I have the HTC phone with latest Windows Mobile. It is sluggish. I tried out someone at work's old iPhone - and wow - it just works. They just got the mobile interface to work - and responsive. I don't think something can stop iPhone's popularity.
Down here in South Africa from online retailer Kalahari.net
XB360 Arcade: R1,749.95
Silver PS2: R1,699.95
One of these days the XB360 price will be lower than the PS2!

Analyst Kota Ezawa of Nikko Citigroup bank believes Sony has managed to halve its manufacturing costs for the PlayStation 3 recently. The savings have come about due to the design changes implemented for the relatively new 40GB version of the console.

For a new console owner - ten good titles is good enough reason. OK - not for me - I already own around 30 to 40 PS3 titles. But then - I have 4 kids.
But for those with small kids - Wii is good enough - and it is the buzz for kids at the moment. Most PS3 titles is not for little kids. Big mistake from Sony and MS. They focused on the "hardcore" gamer with 16+ age titles. Left the door wide open for the biggest market - kids. And Ninty is laughing all the way to the ba...
