I have 3 PS3 games, around 40 PS2 games (all work except 2 work on BC, plan on getting another PS3 games before end of December, 1 BR movie, plan another 5 before end of year.
I use it for both. I have a video projector (ok - so it is only 720p / 1080i).
So by the end of the year I will have at least 6 BR movies. Now who do you believe? Tosh who says I am not watching BR on my PS3, xbots who say I don't have any games for it, or me, who own a PS3, watch BR on it,...
Played a few of the old PS2 games on my PS3... and found that the sound actually gives the same effect - could swear I feel the rumble as with the PS2 - and yet - it was only the bass music effects. Not that I am complaining if rumble comes back- just found with the PS3 that I did not actually miss it...
He has quite a bit of damage control to do after they got rid of Moore. Seems like he is trying at least without the stupid stabs at the competition.
Not needed to spend a hell of a lot of time to compress to try and get it looking OK. More is always better. MS must bite the bullet and make it all HD for space issues.
Down here the PS3 cost nearly double the XB360 - and it is flying off the shelves since the value pack. XB360 just not getting good traction.
They should have done it from the start. the puny 20GB will not do too good with this. Would need the 120GB to be viable. Pity about no standard HD like the PS3 - otherwise the core owners could upgrade - now they will pay through their noses for an upgrade.
Wii's flying of the shelve. The PS3 is selling like hotcakes after the price drop / value bundle. With plenty of games to come it will pick up more steam. XB360 will end last in the marathon. Had a nice lead with the sprint - but most probably will prove to be to little. With installed bases of around 100m for this generation, the Wii will reach it, the PS3 will. Don't think the XB360 will.
Don't care what some two-bit magazine reviews it. Looks great. Massive environment. Seems to play great. Dragon flying. Will get it. Use the magazine to light a fire for a bit of heat in the winter.
Much time is now spend to cut down the space required. If they had the space they could include the content without spending time to compress, cut down, strip content.
Make it for the XB360 as well. Ship it on ten DVD's. I will get this on the PS3 - and will play it through before the console RROD on me.
Since the beginning of this generation some "reviews" showed extreme bias. If it is for the PS3 strange reasons are found to bash a game and give skewed results. For quite some time now I am ignoring the "scores" by some "reviewers". This game looks great, according to many plays great, huge environment. Regardless of the BS some magazines / journos spew, I will this one for sure.
If they sold a bit more they would have to take a 2 Billion repair hit. That should really impress the investors. For every dollar you give, we will lose two.... great opportunity... we sold most, lost most... yeah go baby!!!!
So what if there is only 2 tracks per disk. Hopefully for the XB360 owners all the car models will fit on the DVD.
Maybe they should just bite the bullet and require HD for it - make a swap space - copy all the car data and swap disks for tracks. Sucks for core owners - but hey, this is the next gen...
maybe they bought their PS3 for watching movies as well. They should know - since they bought it.
Why is it that HD-DVD fans try to tell PS3 owners that they did not buy their PS3's to watch BR movies as well? PS3 owners say so, who should I believe? The nun giving sex lessons?
The media would not work on older Wii's. Dream on. Will not happen. The Wii is cheap with cheap media player. Sells well, they will not raise the price by making the media more expensive and cause BC probs.

Or wait - compressed file is better quality than uncompressed? Nothing beats a native uncompressed file - but for that you need space - lots of it.

I have a BenQ video projector. Via VGA it supports 720p. Problem is to get a Component cable to VGA converter where I live (South Africa). Most shops have no clue what I am asking for. They keep on trying to sell the composite cable to me. The easiest would be to just give us a VGA cable - and that will make all of the video projectors with VGA ports give us 720p support.
