Have the 60GB Euro model. Have 7 PS3 titles now. My kids will play R&C, Spy vs Spy, Lego Star Wars until new PS3 versions come out. If you have kids and plenty of old PS2 titles - get the BC PS3 model.
Sony - keep both available. Heck - with the PS2 library as big as it is - I have bought a number of platinum PS2 titles - to play on the PS3. My PS2 is shelved - but the games not. And I always look out for a bargain platinum PS2 title for my PS3.

So the PS3 version will be better (marginally) and the XB360 version will most probably score a .1 or so higher because of bias... so nothing new really here but....
So many 10/10 scores? I mean - come on!!! We are at the start of this new generation and reviewers are overlooking all kinds of things to give Halo, Bioshock etc 10/10 reviews - which they get caught out on. But that poses the question:
Do we now assume that the ultimate has been reached for this gen alread...
We don't know if the game is natively 1080p until tested by a neutral party. The devs will release the tickbox 1080p native - not telling u what tricks they use to upscale.
Heck.. there were rumors about Halo3 being 1080p native 60fps doing the rounds.... and then the clever guy showed it to be less than 720p - and you know what - most gamers did not even notice until it was confirmed by the devs.
All the 1080p titles - we don't know - until tested and confirmed...
Well... then you just buy the 60/80 GB model. Pity though.. but I guess we will see same as the 20GB model. Sales of the 60/80GB models wil leave the 40GB behind until the software list is big enough.
Heck - I still buy PS2 games - great value. Cheap platinum titles - and they work on the PS3. This will most probably force devs to the PS3.
This is the entry level model. The market will let them know which one...
I have the 60GB euro model. I would personally not get the 40GB model - I want the BC. But for those who start new - this might be what they are looking for.
I would bet that all i will do - as with the 20GB model - is that the 60/80 GB models will sell like hotcakes... while the 40GB stay on the shelves...
If you only want BR and PS3 games.. get the cheaper model. If you want PS2 compatibility... get the 60/80GB model. I have the Euro 60GB model. BC works fine.
The new one will just make the entry to the market lower priced.
I think they removed the EE chip, but not the GS chip in the Euro model. With both chips removed, maybe BC compatibility is not possible due to the 4MB EDRam bandwidth - until they maybe get it running on the Cell and not RSX. Wildly guessing here - but this would explain the no SW BC.
Don't matter to me - I have the Euro model and it plays all the PS2 games I have. Would pay an extra 100 for the BC any day.
The programs will most probably work on the PS3 as well... which means... the dev can even sell to PS3 owners... I know I will maybe pick up some of these titles if it works on the PS3.
I think it will only work or those with fast internet connections. Down here we have slow internet connections - at absurd prices. My connection is 3.6MBs, and is 500MB per month. And this is the typical package here. I might pick up the BR version... but... can anyone maybe tell us what is the bandwidth requirements and usage for a typical Warhawk game?
First party exclusive titles shows the difference. Cross platform devs have to make it look as similar as possible - and make code as portable as possible. If you ever coded for different platforms - lets say - Linux and Windows you would get the idea. And then chuck in Windows for Intel and Linux for PowerPC... then you will really get the idea. Then try and code for different GPU's - and quickly the strength of the individual platforms give way to portable code.

Seems like the devs are getting the hang of all three platforms. I am thinking of getting a Wii when it is releases in South Africa. The PS3 rocks. Have seven games now. HS stutters and drops frames in the first chapter, but it becomes better and better as it progresses. Long time since my wife played games. She keeps on selecting the missions with Kai and the arrow shooting with the motion control. She must have replayed that levels like twenty times now.

One of the nice races in GT4 is the one in the rain. Changes everything. Weather effects like rain and snow is really great. Enjoy!
Gran Turismo is the definitive driving game. All else pale in comparison. But you must be really into it to notice the difference. When PD implements damage, it will be realistic. Not the bump from the rear and the front fender falls off and the windscreen cracks excuse for damage.
Don't expect they will have damage for GT5 Prologue.
Got my PS3 - playing GT4 sometimes on it... can't wait for GT5. Bring it on PD. You guys rock!

Heck - did the reviewers even insert the disk before writing their reviews and awarding the 10/10 scores? Seems not. Well - so much for the integrity of the games media. Guess they could not fool all the people all the time....
It is a bit too early to say. Consoles sold is not software sold.
The PS3 with BluRay and Wii with its own format prevents software copying. The DVD format gets copied much easier - so maybe that is the reason for the concerns. Cheap gray imports, copied disks - can kill the format. It is sad if copying can cause less development... because it will only be a matter of time before it spreads to other platforms.
Could be that the XB360 replacement policy is not so good in ...
Well - that would not be because of the game - that would be because of the frame rate... And hey - why knock points of when other titles (gues what platform) with no online gets 10/10....

Regardless of the spin and defenses - and even on if the game did turn out to be good - heck - Tetris was good - and was done on 320x240 resolution - and less with two colors monochrome...
The points made is technical - and are valid. The game runs in 640p natively. Despite the hype - a game like this cannot run on the XB360 in even 720p. It does not seem to matter really - but then again - the point is ab...
Stupid. By the 4th and 5th year there will be so many 10/10 scores that it will not make sense. Start with the best games end next year and give them 80%. Re-rate the games according to this otherwise there will be no differentiating between the hordes of 9.5 to 10/10 games that will be on the market. 10/10 should be the two or three games that overshadowed all in the generation. Halo won't be it. Bioshock won't be it. Don't rate the games against current PS2 titles. But hey - if they re-rele...
