The quality on both is exactly the same. Now repeat after me. The quality on both is exactly the same.
Any idiot claiming that the quality on one is better than the other one is lying......
In fact - if you copy the digital file of a very small HD movie on a CD, DVD, HD-DVD or BR, it will be exactly the same. Not possible to have different quality. The format does not determine the quality. They use the same codecs... and the uncompressed files are the best.
I don't like MS, don't like XB360.... but.... this is a bit wild...
Customer report? Who - some guy posting on a blog who don't even own a XB360? Sheessh.. who approved this article. We know the XB360 is failing more than 3%... but let's get some more solid info than some customer..
I think they are testing the market response to download vs boxed games. Best way to test it is to throw one out and see. If the network one outsells the boxed one by 5:1, then clearly the market is ready for digitally distributed games (not necessarily for all HD content like HD video - 50GB downloads). If the boxed version outsells the download version 5:1 then clearly the market is not ready for digital distribution as some think. It will most probably determine their strategy forward. Hig...
I think BR wins, but posting from blogs when there are hordes of articles already posted on this forum... Please stop this BR vs HD-DVD posts. BR won.... I support it, glad it won, but it is becoming a bit much to see so many victory posts.... We got the point, made the point, celebrated... lets get to more interesting news...
Like the FF series - but like FF not my kind of game. Hope the fans of this series will enjoy it...
Post credible articles - not random posts
I don't have my PS3 yet - waiting for R&C, KZ2, Lair, The Getaway. Whichever 2 post is out first I will get with the PS3. XB360 breaks too easy. Have seen too many kiosks (with pics) of XB360 RROD to trymy luck. In the meantime - the PS2 titles coming out will do nicely.
It is over when I say so.
The war is over. Blu-Ray won.
There. I said it. Now go on to some more interesting news. I have decreed. I have spoken. I have given my royal judgment on this. Now - it is over. As I have said. Thank you for your patience while I was making up my mind. You may carry on now.
The HD-DVD format is dead. PS3 made it possible. As planned. Mission completed. Enough said. Move on to more interesting stuff. Please.
It will mean more Blu-Ray sold, meaning many will buy a PS3 because of the Blu-Ray titles available. Can't see any sense in anyone buyin a stand-alone Blu-Ray player when the PS3 is so good at it.
For this to be true - and release a console with no hard disk...
You will need a terabyte hd to not have hd nedia like Blu-Ray
According to DVD Empire the split is now 70% 30% in favor of Blu-Ray.
RIP? Wow - It is the best selling Blu-Ray player out, video content is rising 600%, which means the potential market for the PS3 will simply soar... Given the titles coming out that will make this holiday season awesome... HD video titles to bag... and you think it means RIP? But if Sony sold 10 million PS3's a week you would most probably have said that PS3 sales are "slowing down" or something in ...
Mo matter how ugly, if it works it works. Good for XB360 owners. Maybe now they can try joining Folding...
Don't get excited..
It would be great if MGS4 is out this year... oh yessssss
USA XB360
Japan Wii
Europe PS3
Hmmmm... Well, at least all three will have some stronghold....
Blu-Ray rules already. XB360 fans must pressure MS to swallow their pride and adopt Blu-Ray. Get it over with - the phony HD war is just going to leave more and more HD-DVD owners irritated when support disappears.
Compression can not magically fit hundreds of Gigabytes on a DVD-9, otherwise you would need nothing more than a CD. Get over it - more space is better. Big games is going to require more space. The XB360 Elite with the 120GB hard disk will handle it OK. MS should just discontinue the core and 20GB model, Sony must discontinue the 20GB model. With a big hard disk, you won't need Blu-Ray, so XB360 fans can give the super compression workout a rest. Sorry for the Core owners, you got left behin...
So they don't count the PS3. So tell me - who will buy a stand alone Blu-Ray player when they have a PS3? I mean - here is your shiny new HD set, with a PS3 connected - and you go - oh. maybe I should go and buy a stand alone Blu-Ray player to play Blu-Ray movies. Kind of stupid is it not?
And taken into account that PS3 sells a lot more than HD-DVD players, it is amazing that 40% of stand alone players are Blu-Ray. I mean - who would buy a stand alone Blu-Ray player when you c...
It is an apple. It will be the next thing models and stars will be carrying around. It is a fashion statement. And more than 3 million will be shelling out money for it in 2007. I won't be one though. Will wait for the PSP phone. But dang - Apple knows how to make something look sexy....
Maybe MS had it backwards and mean that the non-failure rate is 5%.
Hey - a great business idea - be the supplier of coffins to MS for the XB720.
The most popular XB360 fashion accessory - a coffin.
Was not remotely as bad as the XB360 RROD problem. I have 4 kids, the PS2 is played day and night... My near-launch console (big model) broke down, had it fixed, broke again - got a slimline one. It is not a wonderful DVD player, but is being played a hell of a lot. It still works. Now on the sixth controller - two Genius model broke down, two PS2 Dualshock controllers broke (all of them due to really heavy usage), now on two remote MadCatz controllers. What amazes me is the reliability of th...
