So I will get this... maybe. Like KZ and MGS series more than plain FPS shooters. Looks like Halo on PS3... so if the kids get the Halo hype I will pick this up and tell them it is Halo on PS3... Looks like it.
It does look good indeed.
HS was not bad. The first level had a but of tearing and shudders, but from there it gets better and better. Heck - for the first time in years since SSX and GT3 my wife started playing games again.
I picked up Oblivion yesterday... so far... it seems OK, but I prefer R:FOM any day. Have seven games for the PS3 now. R:FOM tops my list. Motorstorm second (wow, the intro is amazing). HS third.
The kids keep on playing R&C and Le...
Regardless of what the press say... it looks worthwhile. The whole Halo, Bioshock, Lair, Warhawk fiasco made me distrust the gaming press will / ability to actually give worthwhile feedback.
The 10/10 and 4/10 scores based on platform preference ruined the gaming press reputation.
Tetris rocked. I was studying computers when it came out. Man... did we play that thing...
And Sims... I think there is 3 copies with a number of expansion packs in the house. The kids love it on the PC. Even have a PS2 copy... but for some reason they like it with the mouse on a PC.
Age of Empires... this series rocked... Funny though - it did not work under XP - had to run Wine on Linux to get it working...
SimCity ... Wow - that one kept me awak...
It would not make sense to release for the XB360 now because of Halo 3. If it is really really good and move a lot on the PS3, then it will most probably go to the XB360. Until then they have to test the market first. Because it is so similar to Halo 3, it will most probably be THE comparison that will rage when it is released. That will be an epic flame war if it does really well on the PS3.
Not my type of game though. I prefer KZ. Liked the first one very much (yeah, many say...
It will be great. Now get a move on and release it already....
Have two of the Singstar PS2 volumes. This is a great franchise. Maybe not a Day 1 purchase for me.. but a definite buy in the first year.
Can't trust the reviewers.
Anyway not news that MS bribes people. Look at the anti-trust case. They bought off the complainants over the course of a few years - all - except Samba. It is just the way they operates. Sad however for gamers who want unbiased reviews. They just messed up the industry again. They should get out of the industry.
To the reviewers - you overplayed your hand. The bias was just a bit, actually, it was way over the top. You lost your credibility. ...
It just seems a little strange that there are so *many* 10/10 games suddenly. Bioshock, Halo3 PGR4.... and hey - all for the XB360.
And then also how nearly all PS3 titles get knocked for things that XB360 games get overlooked... Like length of the game (HS), no online, no single player (Warhawk).. but the XB360 reviews don't take points off...
It is clear that the game "reviewers" are bought. End of story. This marks a sad day for the games industry w...
Good sales.
That means if they can have 4 Halo3 type products then they can actually cover the RROD fixing costs for the year...
R&C! Great. This series, and Jak & Daxter is amazing. Hopefully Naughty Dog will bring out another J&D. My kids still play J&D, R&C on the PS3. It is that good. They actually enjoy these PS2 games still more than HS, R:FOM. Day 1 purchase for me...
Halo is not a nail in the PS3 coffin. RROD is not a nail in the XB360 coffin. KZ is not a nail in the coffin. Both consoles will keep on doing well. Those who hope a single game - that is not the best seller of all time, will kill another console are just plain dumb. So it will sell a couple of million. So will titles on the PS3. Big deal.
Great sales! But... unfortunately for me... I don't like RPG's. For the rest of you... enjoy...
And now the one site already "improved" their opinions of HS. Reviewers - shove it where the sun does not shine. R&C is a great series. If it plays like the previous ones, it will be great. My kids still play R&C on the PS3. It is that good. Upgrade the graphics, same game play - bring it on. The same goes for The GetAway. And MGS. And KZ (those whining that the first one was not good did not play the game).
Clear and simple. Reviewers overplayed their influence, got caught out, and are now trying to regain some respect.
They knocked every PS3 title, while giving kudos and ignoring the same for the other console. They realized they lost credibility. Too late - from my point of view. Won't trust them again anytime soon.
And to the trash talkers out there... The original KZ was great. I played it on my PS3 again - and it plays even better than on the PS2. Still one of my favorite games. Bring it on with KZ2.
Check a couple of cases... Blue Mountain, where MS tried to buy them, and when they would not be bought - Outlook started trashing their email cards. MS lost that lawsuit.
MS tried to kill DR-DOS - even changed apps to FALSELY give error messages when on DR-DOS. Ballmer even went and bought DR-DOS packages to keep them from consumers to stem adoption - even decorated his office with the labels.

It is an acronym for Microsoft Action Response Team.
Makes sense - since this account seems to be manned by people who are available 24/7 to comment on news.
Pacman was no flop. It defined a generation back when it was out.
The Getaway is a great game. I have The Getaway and GTA, and GTA sucked from my point of view. The Getaway rocks. Stupid list.
Stuff the reviewers. I am getting this game. The bias in the media and in reviews convinced me that the harder they knock a game on the PS3 the better it must be. Heck - Warhawk got reviews of 6, and look at the people who actually own the game. Stuff the reviewers. They don't hold sway over my enjoyment of a game. They overplayed their hands. T
he pic of the little fat couch potato grinning over the Lair review manual - heck - he should get out in the sun and lose some weight....
1) No - upscaling is not perfect - no matter how you spin it. If it is 640p, it will never be 1080p - or even 720p.
2) Seems like the XB360 is struggling with high native resolutions... it may show more obvious as this gen progresses.
3) Does it matter? Seems like it does not at the moment. It seems like the 640p saved them and got the frame rate where they wanted - with the lighting. So - even while this is interesting from a technical point of view - it is a moot point. Techie...
