They look about equal in terms of playability. Move on.
Rather than having a PS2 / PS3 Wiimote, XB360 Wiimote - rather let Motus make it for this gen. Next gen this should be standard.
It is just that they get bored... with the PS3 not having any problems... they only get to deal with one support call a month.
I do mostly IT work. One person who works with me has no qualifications. A number of others have strings of degrees. And they are a useless bunch. Degrees means squat. You can code... or you can't. And having a degree is not going to make you a better coder. I still do some coding... but I think I am part of a dying breed in corporate IT. They bring on a lot of youngsters with degrees - call them all kinds of fancy titles. And then they have trouble connecting their mahcines to the network.
About time MS comes up with something new. They took Active Directory from Banyan Street talk (Jim Alchin), Exchange and Sharepoint portal mostly from Notes (Ray Ozborn), SQL Server from Sybase, tried with Zune to copy iPod, tried with XB...
Funny thing is... unlike success with SQL Server, MS Project and Office, their later attempts are not as successful. Meaning they are trying the old copy, improve and extinguish the competition... but it not working anymore. So they will have...
Launch head to head with HD-DVD, and they would loose straight away. HD-DVD might have lasted longer though.
Launch a year earlier without HD-DVD, then HD-DVD is pretty much screwed. Then they would have the long term storage issues.
Balance of the two choices, I would say they made the best choice under the circumstances. They got a year lead... but they really should have done better with the quality of the hardware. There is realy no excuse for the DVD eating and ...
If they add a portable screen to the PS2, it may just bury 2 generations of XBoxes. Amazing.
Some AJAX components to make the user interface more interactive...
Some applications on a list that you can use - including word processor, spreadsheet, database, graphics, presentations, planning etc.. and there you have it. Log in on any PC and you get your desktop with applications withoul loading anything. Upgrades done by the service provider. Not much of a mystery really.
Just that it cuts out the applciation seller who sell to the end client via reseller channel. No...
Hey Mart...
grow up.
So Too Human sucks. It does not mean that you have to try and prove that PS3 games suck just because of the Too Human flop. You are getting too defensive man. It is games. Entertainment. Your life does not depend on a hyped game flopping.
Most probably last one will be a 1TB disk model...
Great of Sony to pass on the benefit of bigger hard drive on to the customer.
So the 80GB drive cost them the same as the 40GB or 60GB drive. So they pass on the benefit to the consumer. By the end of this gen there will be one PS3 SKU - 320GB or something like that. Same specs - just bigger hd.
This will likely make it into the PS4 if NVidia is the GPU partner
If you are a 3rd party, the XB360 and PS3 games sell about equal... with a 30% bigger budget you can get nearly double the money... then why not? Just makes business sense.
I tried to come up with something to say on this one... but I am speechless. Not even trying to hide the bias and ignorance. Titles that are 90% is "garbage". Outselling his favorite console means his console is doing well, but the PS3 sales is "sluggish". Wow.
Not in production does not mean "not in development". Clever semantics.
The PS3 boob physics seems to be better - more realistic movement, but the colors is washed out - mostly around the nipple area... arghhh
This is what Sony counted on. After another 2 years we will see BR players dropping seriously below PS3 price, and then it will as PS2 vs DVD players. For now... makes sense. Will affect the PS3 games sales a little bit for those who buy it as a BR player only. But it would introduce some people to gaming who did not plan on it - so it should even out a bit.
There is no way they would max out the XB360 this early in its life. I would be surprised if they did. Same of the PS3 and Wii. Only around year 4 will we start seeing the "gold" standard reached.
They will in future. If they announce they will compete with online services now, then the pressure will be on them to match the other two services now, which will lead to disappointment. The will most probably compete with the next gen... which is OK. They don't need to create expectations that will paint them with failure. Good decision in my opinion. They will have some online functionality, and gradualy improve until they are can compete in that space.
In general the PS3 has a bit more under the hood... but it would not mean better graphics if you mean poly count and pixel pushing power.
XB360 will suffer due to storage issues... PS3 will have a bit of advantage - OK, a lot as this gen progresses... but... to say the XB360 has reached its limit... erm how does one say it again? Crap! Neither machine or the Wii or PS2 has reached their limits yet.
