It is simply like this...
The Apple Mac was the first computer in wide use that had a Windows, Icon Mouse Pointer interface (WIMP)...
The first one was actualy a Xerox Star - but it did not make it into the mainstream. On DOS, there was a number of GUI's before Windows became standard. Ventura Publishing for example ran on GEM (Graphical Environmental Manager), which came from the Commodore Amiga / Atari ST era (The days when Jack Tramiel was running Atari - who made a PC with its...

Actually it is AIG, GM, ML etc... American companies that is in trouble... You know... the type of trouble that needs Tens of Billions Dollars by government to bail you out.

PS3 is doing fine. BR is doing fine - despite the months of imminent death reports - BR buried its rival. PS2 buried both its rivals - and will most likely bury the XB360 as well.

The thing is dead. There is no chance of it coming back to life - even its most avid supporters has given up on it. It is like the Elvis is alive stories. If he was alive - then he will die of old age shortly anyway.

Clearly the time is coming that the PS3 exclusive games are becoming bigger. Last time that the FUD can have some effect.

There comes a time with the higher quality audio, textures and models - that it will be easier to add more content than to try and slim it down to a managable level.

This is deliberate self-imposed ignorance at its best.
BR speed is roughly equal to the DVD in the XB360. Games like Uncharted works great without an install - and it is one of the most beautifull games out there.

The size of BR is an advantage for games. XB360 launched early without HD-DVD because the year lead would be lost. Now the games content suffers due to this. Content is now split over mutliple DVD's, and in some cases - like a racing game, you will have to pair ce...

I think LBP was build alongside Home in terms of functionality. Strategy with LBP could also be to drive the demand for Home with tight integration.

For this current time frame - Wii Sportst is the "in" thing. 5 Years down the line... ask the question again.

Download DVD?
HD-DVD is dead. Get over it. Let it die in peace.

Like maybe $1 for the mass production. Oh... OK. But then - is the DVD case to hold more disks also a bit more exoensive - and the manufacturing, packaging etc of a second DVD is at no cost?

So if you are right - then the XB360 internal memory would allow for lets say - a 1.5 GB patch? The model without the harddrive? Oh OK then - that makes sense. They don't need any hd then. With such a large internal memory then they can download a 100GB of videos too?

Amazing how people try to argue that less space is better or equal than more space. The smaller capacity of DVD is affecting all of us. Don't try to defend it. It does not make sense. The lack of HD is also a problem.

Can anyone tell me...

If a game patch is released - how does it affect the XB360's without a HD? Do they have to make do without the patch?

So the PS3 can have some content on HD, the XB360 on DVD, and the DVD will stream faster? Oh, OK then. And the moon is made of cheese btw.

I asked a question. I don't know the answer. Why the disagrees?

12% vs 0.6%
Now which one is bigger? DD was around before BR, so it should be ahead by now.

It will all come down to a few simple facts:

- Will Download speeds be viable?
- Will the cost of Downloads be more than getting a BR disk?

Simple fact is that todays infrastructure can not support DD. And that is for compressed files that does not even compare to BR / HD.

Check up on this.
They use different color pallettes. No mystery. Withs some work they can display *exactly* the same colors.

For those who have the "budget" XB360 version...
The one without the HD... When a game is patched, can you make use of the patch - or are you forever stuck with the bugs that came with a release of a game. For example - if there was some horrible stuttering in DMC4, and they release a patch for it - can you use it - or are you stuck?

Then I would have gotten both. As it is I only have a PS3 - so I will get R2. Stop arguing and enjoy the games. Both looks worthwhile to own regardless if you have the one or the other.

Sony can afford to replace out of warranty PS3 fails - they have so little failing the department dealing with it must be bored...

Never liked the Wipeout games. Bit to surreal for my liking... although I like SciFi games. But good to see it score well.
