I found it easiest to fight the Flying fight (after you leave Big Mama and enter the building) with the machine gun with 200 rounds.
If you used up all your rations you will be stuck in some places... had the same issue - had to go back and play a bit more carefully to get to the same point.
It is not about adding paint jobs or frills. In GT it is about tyres, drive height, gear ratios etc. Both games have that - adding a paint job is a nice touch - but hardly makes the game more realistic.
In the end - PS3 has GT, XB has Forza. Both good games in their own right. Good work by both dev houses.

Do they repeat 100 tracks on both discs? Or can certain cars only be raced on certain tracks?
At some time that will be the situation. If you have 200 tracks, 800 cars - at some point the tracks or the car data is going to be more than the total disc space - which mean at some point there will be a tradeoff. Hard Disk install should help - put the smallest common factor on disk - e.g. all the tracks, or all the car models.

It was expected that the XB360 would go down when the PS3 hits its stride.
What was not expected was that the Wii would woop ass as much as it doing. It is barely twice as powerfull as the previous gen, with a nice controller - and it is selling like hotcakes.
Later in the lifecycle the PS3 will overtake the Wii in sales - but the question will be if it will overtake it in total sales. Maybe if the Wii2 is out. Last gen was the same - cheapest console won, most expen...
Hats of to MGS4 team. Even the competition is giving it a 9.9 and 10 scores. In this heated console war... that really takes something special to achieve that.
Now how do you get this? XB360 site less critical of MGS4 than some other so-called review sites.
XB360 magazines giving higher score to a PS3 game than EDGE etc.
EA thought that MS would kill PS3 this gen... so they focused on the XB360. Now sales of PS3 titles are overtaking XB360 titles - so they will go where the money is. Business as usual.
MS made a huge play for the third parties - hoping it would cut of titles for the PS3 - and making them available only on XB360. What is clear is that Sony was able to still produce enough good quality games, in time to be in the position to beat the XB360 into a distant third position.
But MS did make some inroads - and Sony needs to take notice of this. They did still make it on momentum this gen, and MS really dropped the ball badly with the lack of HD-DVD and the RRoD. If MS ...
In most cases the competition will bash you. It takes a real towering-above-the-rest game like MGS4 that will make even your competition acknowledge that you got it right.
This is the first game this gen that have even the competition taking their hats of. Good for Kojima and his staff. Well done. So far this game is the best game I have played.
They have Billions to throw at their strategy - which means - losing Billions until they can force the incumbents out of the market. Just the way Microsoft understands business. Too many 10/10 and 100% scores, not enough 8/10 scores to get that score lower.
The MS developer toolset is better. The Sony toolset needs some time to match it. One of those things. The MS architecture is more traditional and the PS3 more radical in terms of development requirement. Smaller development studios will find it easier to break even on XB360. Producers like Kojima, Insomniac and Naughty Dog will find ways to make the PS3 run away from the competition - but it comes with a price - time and money to develop the technology - which smaller devs don't have the lux...
People were waiting for this game. Sales will be around 2.5M in first week. Most probably around 7M lifetime. It deserves to be an over 10M seller. For those still wondering - this game is great. Get it while its hot.

Suddenly after MGS4 sold 1.4M in first week, around 60 scores of 10/10, we suddenly see the 6/10 and 8/10 reviews flloding in, with the sudden trashing of Killzone 2, calling Halo 3 "better". Sounds like some serious marketing and FUD campaign going on. One such negative story - well, maybe. A sudden flood of these stories... smells of orchestrated media campaign.
