I do wish there was world wide standard for this stuff, so that all developers were actually getting the same breaks..

Unfortunately, the 360 needs more than an Ace Combat inspired increase in sales if it wants any penetration in the Jap market. The numbers are so low that it can have a doubling of sales and still not be selling a significant amount.

As for the elite being sold out, it common knowledge that due to lack of demand, retailers have been keeping stocks low, so a sell out is not a huge indicator of a reversal of fortunes.

I can't see MS making significant market share ...

I expect the p*ss to be ripped out of me mercislessly! Hooray for SouthPark :)

Agreed. One of the more lucid points made in yet another thread with the usual suspects flaming and trolling.. it almost funny, but rather sad.

The launch attach rate is indeed a figure thats hard to dispute. Its partially caused by the blu ray effect noted above, and I suspect its also because the machine launched at such a high price - leaving less money to buy lots of games!

In terms of overall numbers, its a true point to say that a machine thats been availab...

Sony have always had a stupid advertising firm appointed in europe - or have people forgotten the awfull 'SAPS' campaign from the launch of the PS2?

Thing is, even with some pretty obscure adverts, and some seriously good software on the 360, they are shifting units and it looks like Europe will be sonys territory. I guess we'll have to see.

God knows what they'll achieve when they get some good adverts and some more of the kick-arse titles.

I may have approved the story, but its a poorly written review.

I have this game myself, and both me and my wife have played and enjoyed it.
Its a niche game for sure, and certainly doesn't blow you away with its technical prowess. However, its really differnet to anything else out there, and has interesting game mechanics as well.
Rather than follow the formula and produce another 'me too' game, this is a good example of a game thats only going to appeal to small...

At least they are trying, but they will never get mass acceptance of this machine.
Japaneese rooms are very small in comparison to US sized rooms. Having a power brick the size of the 360's, and having the noise and heat issues that the machine has, is a big turn off in Japan that will not be overcome unless the whole machine were redesigned.

The PS3 is also seen as too big - but at least its quiet, and it doesn't have a huge power brick, so its seen as more aceptable t...

Sorry razer, but its you who are trully mistaken and need to do some research. I'm the site administrator on one of the largest psp iso sites on the net (230K members) and I advise people on psp downgrading issues constantly.
People do release cracked versions of every single psp firmware - but to install or run it, requires a downgrade to 1.5 firmware, which is the only firmware which has the exploit.
The link you provide is also ancient news, and the russian team M33 have cra...

If it were posssible to rip games and play them on a hacked patched or chipped machine, it would definately be done by now.

People have been trying it since the machines release, and all the first batch of games were released as iso's in the expectation of some success in this area.

But sony learnt big with the PSP. They made a big mistake with the release of firmware 1.5 on that platform, that let the hackers in and run iso's and loaders. It is a mistake they ha...

Its a lame story prcisely because it has not detials at all.
It simply links to a description of a very old PSN game, which I don't believe IS newsworthy.
The only information here,is that there is ESRB rating for a game of the same name. As you quite rightly point out, everything else is different other than the name, so this 'story' provides no details concerning what the release may be.
If the story pointed out these facts instead of simply describing the old game, it...

This is as zany and interesting as you might expect from this lot.
A great example of why the japs are so inovetive.... and why you need them on board with your machine if you want trully interesting titles.

I don't know the objective, or even if it will be fun to play, but at least its not another meat head FPS title, and thus worthy of respect in my book!! I hope this concept becomes a reality and I can try for myself!

I think his view is overly optomistic - not much of a suprise and he's currently earning his cash from Microsoft.
Still, lost odessy should be an OK title, but Its not gonna turn 360's fortunes around.
I far prefer the quirky output of the Jap studios to the churned out stuff of the west, so I'd prefer it if the 360 did generate a bit more support over there. No one has ever won the hardwrae wars with the US alone, and that's why MS has been so desperate to get the Japs onside.....

It's a real shame the UK Government can't get 100% behind games development in this country.
We still have a strong development communitty here, but it has been shrinking, and is increasingly being dominated by big publishers at the expense of the small development houses. Government assistence and help, would allow the smaller companies to operate and become sucessful.

EA are a large company with some old staff who simply arn't very quick to pick up on new code techniques. They have traditionally believed they could lead on one platform and do a implr convert to another.
If you want a decent engine it simply can't work that way..

Having been part of a world famous achieving software dev house that was absorbed by E.A some time ago (Bullfrog.. RIP), I'm in a position to have experienced the EA 'drag factor' for myself. That they can't ...

More pathetic flame bait from Billies bum-chum!

Honestly mate, why you don't get a life is beyond me.
I like my 360 too, but not to the extent that I want to trash any other competitors machine in a rabbid need for self-assurence.
Does acting so pathetically on here make you feel smug or in any way intellectually superior?
You desperately need to get laid.....but the sheer arogance you emmit in your posts is probably a big barrier to anyone getting near.

This thread and all the following comments are completely pointless.

Ubi have simply stated that some titles would be delayed, and they did not state which ones. Those that have recently palyed haze say its in a near finished state, so I think its extrememly unlikely that its one of the titles to slip.

The suggestion that haze might be one of the titles is directly from the Xbox site that reported it. Its not suggested by information that UBi put out, so yes, it ...
