Its so sad to see any piece of news immediately used by this side or that, to flame other gamers or fanboys.
Rational discussion without an agenda is becoming increasingly rare to find, and the subbmission pages and the comments sections are becoming a kids playground for 'keyboard warriors' everywhere to fight for their corporation of choice - as if the corporation gave a sh*t about you.
Congratulations on your cheap victory of destroying N4G.

Is it just me, or is this in really bad taste?

I can see the tabloid headlines now... personally I don't think gaming needs to be tarred with such marketting tricks.

But as they say, there's no such thing as bad coverage, so this will ensure more coverage than any actually useable feature! :)

Lets just hope the game has been worth the wait!

He is harsh - I really enjoyed this and didn't find it too difficult.

But it was flawed, and its only right that some people will point out the obvious problems with an otehrwise brilliant game. Most will choose to overlook the issues, but for some it will be a show stopper.

Ouch... my wife just thumped me and laughed! :)

Geez - the trolls are all out in force again. Tons of comments and barely one inteligent remark in the whole bunch of them.

Of course MS are going to copy the motion sensing contols that the WII has - have you not nticed how they are desperately trying to court the casual gamer? There's nothing wrong with this, they are not stupid and won't forget the hardcore gamer that make up the bulk of their audience, they simply want to extend the possabilities of the machine. The PS2 did...

Did you even bother to read article? Its plainly the best games of all genres for each 'machine platform'! :)
Its got nothing at all to do with 'platform games' and you'd be hard pressed to find any kind of platform game amoung the nominations or the winners.

Though I'm a little dubious over Gamespots objectivity, the article is fair enough and the picks are pretty reasonable. Of course that means they missed out some of the games I've liked most this year - all the abov...

I have to say I was one of the few who was seriously underwhelmed by Halo 3.
BUT - the Haloo universe is a great place for an RTS title, and this style of game is one I really enjoy, so my hopes are very high for this.

The previous RTS games on this console were conversions from an existing PC game, so it will be really interesting to see what they can do with a game developed with the 360 hardware in mind.
Sounds very promising and likely to be one of my games of...

...and the full game has already been pirated and released on the 'scene'.
Shame.
I'll try the demo though!:)

I was suprised to see it nominated to tell the truth - gamers are pretty unsophisticated in their tastes for the most part, and certainly won't see the value in 'lifestyle branding' like these adverts attempt.
But the award was not to celebrate the most sucessful advert - just as an oscar is not based on box office recipts. It certainly wasn't aimed us gamers - which is just as well as it missed its mark. But as a piece of creative ad making, it was worthy of some mention at the least....

I agree mate - best new IP perhaps, but franchise? How can it continue from where it was?
Personaly, I think it's a shame that a great game can't just be a 'one off' without having its success milked for all time. In many respects the game industry has gone down the same path as Hollywood films - comercial imperitives and the power of the marketing men over the people with creative vision, ensure that lacklustre sequals almost innevitably follow a ground breaking original!

Where's the beef dude? Use the feature, don't use the feature, its your choice!
Anyone with the remotest sense, will install the data and play without load times when they first get the game and are playing it a lot, and then uninstal the data when they are finished or have completed the game. If you've not much room, then play with loading times....

If you filling your machine with useless media - don't! Just share it over a media server like Tversity, or grab a cheap u...

Two worlds won my 'most laughable game' of 2007.
So lamentable in so many ways! Why port it?

As for singstar - I doubt it will find too many fans on a site like this, but Sony should get it out in the States ASAP. For what it is, its a quality product that works well and has great online and community features built in that simply work and make it more fun. I'm afraid to say, I got it for my wife for christmass and have already has some seriously drunken sing songs. Game...

Not the best list they could have picked!

Fable 2??? Anyone? Gonna be huge.

Fallout 3? - again gonna be a big hitter!

Halo wars? - how can it fail with the halo brand to sell it?

I do think the 2008 lineup for the 360 is not quite as impressive as the PS3 announced games, but its still full of quality titles and far better than this article implies. Given the nature of the average 360 customer, the quality titles it will undoubtably have...

If you've never liked wipeout before - then sure, this won't turn your thinking around, or make you buy a new machine to play it! :)

But millions of people DO like wipeout, and have bought it before and may well be looking for a newer, shinier High Def version! For them, this release will be heaven, and I fail to see why so many haters would come to this thread simply to bad mouth a gmae on a machine they don't own?

Games like the PS3 has been recieving of late, ...

Absolutely!
Whilst I'm not against people giving us new features, I've never seen why people enthused about them so much? Why on earth would you want your watching experience to be marred a pip box overlay, I'll never know.
I guess it's main relevance is to simply 'tick the features' box that people often use to compare technology...
I doubt I shall ever use it :)

@ ReBurn

don't lecture me kid - I'll guarentee when I was last leaving school you were not even born.
Before making the kind of huge sweeping statements you are making, maybe you need to do some reasearch? If you think school told you how the world really is, then you have many suprises coming as you grow up.
To quote Time asia:

Amusing how you got a disagree, when you were just stating an easily provable fact! At least, its certianly true when talking about PC architectures.
One of the issues in untapping the power of a cell processor, is its multi core philosophy, and the fact some development houses have had trouble using this, is a fine example of the technical issues that can arise trying to make full use of a multi core architecture.

Oh good god Zhuk, I didn't think you had any lower to go, but this kind of biggoted racist sterotyping is utterly pathetic and I would urge poeple to report all such flagrent racisim as offensive.

India is a rapidly emerging global power with a very tech savy and well educated population. To seek more market share in such a growing market, is simply good sense, and you can bet MS have a serious stratagey in this region too.

I do love it when these stories break! Its always full of people saying I've had no problems!

For the record - I don't have a problem either, but the article is not implying that the issue is with the entire network, and even says the issue is not as widespread as the previous well documented problem!

Most people will be OK, but that doesn't mean the story is incorrect or some fanboy invention!
Hopefully the glitches will be resolved soon, and those people...
