This would be a really bad move for MS to make and would surely really annoy those who have already invested in the platform.
I simply don't believe this will be announced.
HD DVD is of no use unless you can put games on it. With 13 million plus dvdv drives out there, thats not going to happen, so theres no way they will include this now.
As for the proper HDMI support and WiFi - this should have been there from the start. Including it now will only confuse consumers even...
All arguments about live aside, to try and describe the Tomb Raider franchise as a 'pitfall ripoff' totally exposes your complete ignorance of games culture and history.
Good game/ bad game, doesn't matter, Tomb Raider has been extraordinarilly sucessful, and much copied since the first outing. There are very few franchises in games history that have been as important for the games buisness as Tomb Raider.
Live = great service heavilly controlled by MS
PSN = free ...
'Is there anything in the world you think you're corporation can't simply buy?'
People commenting on the quality of the image are obviously completely unaware of the development cycle.
That early in a concept proving stage, a very basically lit environment cobbled together from anything will serve the purpose. I've spent over a year working with unlit untextured boxes while developing a game and such a basic environment will surve the purposes of testing bits of code, physics, new particle systems design, basic AI and route finding algorythems etc etc - its doesn'...
The race driver series of games has always been top tier excellent titles and I'm sure their next effort will have excellent handling characteristics typical of their releases.
If the game were to run looking like the screenshots, we would indeed have an amazing looking game, but I am skeptical. Not only are such shots often touched up, but despite the news being published by a PS3 publication, developer supplied screenshots are almost always from the 'best looking' version, wh...
Hey - all PC's run hot and that's by-product of the amount of work going on with tthe CPU's and the GPU's. It common with high powered devices, and all PC's and the PS3 will also produce heat (though not as much).
This will be helped by the smaller 360 chip set coming online soon, and they have also redesigned the heatsink.
Given the heat it does produce, they should have been a little more robust in the design of the componants, as the heat and the associated b...
Well for once I agree with you!
Except for E.A. giving 'take over' companies lots of freedom and independance! I was in Bullfrog when E.A took us over, and despite the promises, they simply ripped the cash they could from our IP's and amalgamated the staff to typical E.A projects. At the time I said - 'you wait they'll have me assigned to a football game within a year'. It was less than 3 months before I was on a football title, and 3 months later I left and was starting a new ...
Looks like Tekken, plays like tekken!
Lets face it, they are not going to reinvent the game seeing as how popular the previous iterations have been, and this looks simialr to versions we have played before, but with a bit more polish..:)
No bad thing for me, I've alwasy enjoyed the Tekken series...
What will be very interesting is to see what efforts they put into the associated extra game modes for the home version. I've always enjoyed these extra modes and the give the ...
Respect for admitting his mistake, but you have to say, his first review is extremely sloppy work. To have played so little of the game, and to have missed what is a major part of ANY rpg (leveling up is hardly a new concept), almost beggers belief...
Would not use Vista again after trying it. I run performance critical applications where time is money and Vista runs at half the speed - not to mention many of the applications I need to run, don't run on it!
Yes - for some reason people seem suprised by this, but the machine was clearly designed for the consumer to simply 'pop in' an easilly available drive when they need it.
Its somewhat ironic that a bespoke piece of equipment like the PS3, is designed to be upgradable this way, but a machine designed on PC technology, should force you to have propriety drives!
@ the round peg.
Totally agree. I'm a fan of all the machines and have been delighted to play great games on all systems, but the very best games this year have been on 360. I've loved Uncharted, Ratchet, Motorstorm etc too, but the likes of Bioshock and Mass Effect and Super Mario have been some of gamings best moments this year..
Next year may well be different. As long as I continue to get great games I don't care!
You beat me to it! I was going to say 'good list, but they missed lair'! :)
To be fair, the control system was a pain, but it was the least of the titles worrie,s and analogue controls would not have fixed the mediocre gameplay. I stuck it through to the end anyway... :)
.. I read the title of the entire site, that suggested we would find NEWS for gamers. It didn't say ' a link to every half arsed opinionated blog entry on the net' 4 gamers. Maybe I read it wrong.
The fact that 'the round peg' is such a high contributor does not mean the man has the ultimate say on what it right or not for the site. You yourself are an exceptionally high contributor, but I often see you submit and approve items that are not newsworthy and are simply opionated f...
More blog comment posted as news. <sigh>
I personally loved Mass Effect from beggining to end, but it WAS flawed, and people have every right to point it out.
Blogs have no place on this site and ought to be reported regardless of which platform they support.
The fact you have been a great contributer to this site in the past gives you no 'divine right' to sh*t on it now, and if you can't see that writting and tipping your own blog is a blatently ridiculous thing to allow on this site, then you really don't have the kind of intellect you try to show you have.
If you trully have this site and its users needs at the forefront of your pr...
Great rumour!
No sources and no basis in reality, but that is of course wqhat rumour is all about.
Love it or loath it, MGS4 will shift consoles and units to those who loved the old games. It doesn't matter what MS releases at the same time, there is no substitute for MGS if thats what you want.
If there is an amazing new unannounced game coming for the 360, they could do with letting people know about it. Having had such a brilliant year in terms ...
I didn't like this title at all. Admittidly I only gave it 15 minutes, but thats 15 minutes too much in my opinion! :)
Of course having the game bundled with the 80gig version would help increase sales! But the 80 gig hasn't shifted that many units compared with the cheaper units, and isn't even available in many territitories.
The game did sell, and will continue to sell well regardles of pack-ins. Its simply an excellent game thats unlike any other racer out there and was one of the first titles to show a glimpse of what power may be under the hood of a PS3.
Motorstorm deserves...
You know, its posts like this one, and the countless others that Zhuk and his other brain dead compatriots continually spam over this site, that make me want to simply throw away my 360 and pretend I never had one. I feel 'dirty' for owning one when so many totally brainless morons do too.
The situation is not much better on 'the other side' where equally moronic fools have styled themselves on this fools ramblings to spam the site with counter arguments. I wish you would all die - hor...
