I thought this looked OK when I saw footage - kinda stupid fun.
I'm rather hoping it will do well as Midway are in big trouble right now and I fear for Midway Newcastle (who are developing it) if it turns out a big flop.
Maybe the Vin Diesal tie-in will help shift a few boxes..
If the figures represented number of hours online per user, it might mean something. Given the disparity in the installed base for these machines in the american market, the results of total hours pent on line are not in the least suprising.
I think this kind of thing is occurring because people had a fundamental misunderstanding of what home really is.
Its not about being a 'game' - its not about having action packed arcade fun, its an ambitious social networking tool. People go into home to meet and chat with others. They do this often whilst playing a simple game like the pool, but its basically an virtual online chat room with lots of toys.
The appeal of social networking is not universal, and I can understand t...
Well this is certainly a review that matches my own experiences with this game, which I've found amazing.
I guess the juries gonna be out on whether the multiplay will stand the test of time, but initial feelings on this are pretty positive and I expect to playing it for a long long time to come..
Yeah, I saw this when it was all over and couldn't help but be moved by it.
Whatever you think of Halo Wars, (and it IS a good play), you could never call Ensemble studios a failure... they are plainly an excellent developer with some extremely talented people working for them. To see a sucessful studio closing must surely be bad news for all real gamers.
Reading the personnel comments from the development staff was pretty sad as you come to realise how much a studio closure lik...
Oh please.... people know so little about what they are talking about.
Games are being released which require NXE - of which these are the first two examples. As a result, the data structure on the discs has been shifted slightly.
New 'firmwares' thought they would be clever and stop a pirate playing a game if the 'stealth sectors' were not properly being detected (supposedly protecting your 'live' account). That's whats happening with these two titles.

Then the author and me are very different gamers. I don;t care that I've got far too many games to ever really finish them all? So what? One of the best of this gen so far has arrived and I'd trample over my own granny to put it in the slot and start playing it. I know very few gamers who are not the same. The only reason I'm here at all is because my wife has hogged the PS3 (Shes been working while I played KZ2 so I have to let her have sonme time no matter how grudgingly!)
It...
I think you might be right for several reasons.
1) Some misguided people will buy it thinking its an FPS.
2) Some RTS players will not like the linearity and almost complete lack of stratagey of the gameplay compared with other RTS titles.
3) Many will be disapointed in how incredibly short it is. 15 campaign missions - I finished it in two sittings.
Those that are new to RTS's though , and particularly those that are big fans of the Halo universe, ...
I really couldn't care less what americans are buying and you offer this mantra as if only americans count.
The fact is, there are 21 million PS3 owners and a significant portion of them will buy this game and have a great time with it. Mine turned up yesterday, and whilst its too early for me to call it the best FPS, its not too early for me to say its the most technically accomplished next gen game released so far, and a clear technical cut above the rest of this gens offerin...
Doesn't matter how it looks - this is a game that will sell very poorly on that console.
The Wii's main demographic will simply not be interested in it, and any sertious core gamer has one of the other next gen machine soo and will have this title on that nmachine.
@ hitthegspot - its actually one the fastest loading Bluray players around. comparing it with a dvd load time is frankly pretty stupid...
My megadrive and Snesslaoded games instantly - so what?
As a long time user of all three machienes you have to have some kind of angle if you make the kind of staemtnets you do, as its plainly simply not the case.
Mine arrived in the post this morning. Yummy!
Obviously its early days for me yet, but its been astonishing so far and deserves the great reviews...
Its always been too bulky for me - not that I mind it, but extended play always leaves my hands hurting and my wife gets the same thing.
A version that didn't hurt my hands would be good, and of course the D pad which is well mentioned in here already. Triggers are good, and the sticks are responsive with little dead zone, but I personally wish the body was a better (smaller) shape for me.
I doubt that will be chnaged though, as so many people love it! :)
I saw a small add announcing its coming a couple of days ago on ITV in the UK. Only seen it once, but I did see it!
Yeah - one PC game. All bow to the gaming guru.
I rarely pass your posts, because I simply despise your 'type' whilst recognizing there are loads of equally ignorant trolls.
Your actions and posts on here are not to discuss games or the business of games or the love of games. They are here simply because you like to bait people into pathetic arguments. You state it quite clearly in your profile. As such, you represent everything I despise about some of the people who inha...
But thats what I'm saying guys! When I went too hot into a corner, I often used the other cars to stop me flying off the track and I took huge advantage of it...
...and I do wish people would stop equating damage modelling with realism so much. Of course its an important element if you are going for a sim, but there is so very much more to gettig a car to feel right. I've driven a new mini on several occasions, and I certainly couldn't recognise the handling characteristics from drivin...
I only had a couple of races in a 'new mini', but it certainly didn't feel realistic to me! Maybe I'll give it another go, but I was seriously underwhelmed by this and think Forza and GT5 have a LOT more to offer than this title..
Try before you part with your cash for this one...
Yawn...
Thats all you'll ever judge on becasue we all know you don't actually play games. As pathetic as anything else you'll write.
Well you have to say - its an american angle and there are far fewer PS3 owner in the US than other machine owner, so hes ort of right..
But if you are a true gamer and have all the machines theirs certainly a lot of decent titles expected on the black Sony one - with KZ2, Infamous and God of War 3 all looking like amazing games for my tatses..
He seems to have missed that theres a Halo game coming too (even if its more of an expansion), and Halo Wars will sell t...
If you look purely at sales of the software, no of course they didn't get their moneies worth.
But that misses the point. By paying hadsomely, MS made sure that there was no reason for GTA fans to think about getting a PS3 for what was always a big PS franchise - indeed, real fans who must have the DLC will get a 360. Thats what they paid good money for, and it worked a treat.
