WTF?
Why are you people approving stories that are deliberately and obviously against the guidelines of the sites submission process?
The story's title must not be changed and should read:
"Sony's PlayStation 3 Gaining Ground on Xbox With Games, Blu-Ray"
..and its a duplicate story thats already on here.
I would urge any of you who care about the quality of submissions on this site to please report this story...
Its never a bad thing to get a console cheaper.
If people are annoyed its because the US was expecting a permanent price cut like we got in Europe three months ago. Essentially, thats not being delivered - though I appreciate the new model will have extra HD space.
The resultant troll wars are to be expected given the flak sony got over its similar 'market repositioning'.
No one is right, no one is wrong - and no one really cares! Trolls fight, and...
Absolutely - except I'm not a fan of Brawl either. I've always bought and loved every Ninty machine since the original NES, but this one gathers dust.
The guy is simply stating what a lot of long term gamers feel about the WII. Apart from the lack of 'techno wow' and SD graphics, the games line up simply doesn't boast many of the kinds of titles that I crave as gamer. Decent stealth action? Decent driving game /sim? Decent FPS that isn't Metroid? It simply doesn't scratch my ga...
Well this could be fun! Having wireless controllers is good, though I'm not too sure about the lights..
The trouble this title will have is that it needs to differentiate itself from SingStar.
This syle of game is all about the songs - its no fun singing along if you don't know or like the song your singing too, no matter how drunk you are! Sony hold all the aces here, with their massive amounts of available content and artists, so I'd expect Singstar to remain t...
I've always prefered ATI cards.
Though Nvidia has had a performance advatage in the games market for a while - I need to use the professional cards and choose the firegl range for its killer openGL speeds with apps like Maya. I find the drivers to be better and more stable for pro apps too.
Nice to see ATI hitting back and offering such undisputable power in the home market too, and theres absolutely no doubt that they give by far the best power to price ratio with the n...
This is a prime example of what happens when a games journalist reads too much web rubbish and thinks he has a handle on hardware functionality.
The entire sentiment is absolute bull, and anyone with any genuine knowledge would immediately see this, but it aimed squarely at the usual web troll brigade who will eat this sh*t up all day.
He makes his assertion based on the 360 CPU's ability to access all 512 meg of ram if needed. In order to access any more than 25...
It staggers me just how little people seem to know about this product and its intentions.
So many 360 owners talk about how wonderful the 'communitty is' on xbox live, and they are right to do so.
This is simply a 3d virtual community where you pick up messages, meet and make new friends, and invite your mates for multiple games. Its simply the next level of the community features that people experience and enjoy on live - just wrapped up in virtual world.
...
I'm gonna get this and enjoy it I'm sure.
BUT the biggest concern to me is the paltry 10 hour play time thats been pretty much confirmed by all those who have played it. Thats 10 hours, inclusive of all the cutscenes that you can't skip. For this type of game, thats really, really, really short, and a real shame. I love trawling through dungeons for hours on end leveling up and collecting treasure, but the amount of time spent doing it is part of the appeal, and it sounds like this gam...
@foodbox -
Thats not actually true mate. Yesterday - full res screenshots were posted that could have come directly from these vids (except full res and no compression) - http://n4g.com/NewsCom-1663...
The overwhelming replies suggested that the screenshots were fugly. Not all from PS3 trolls, but from well known 360 fans on this site like 'thenickel', 'Jenzo'.
Persoanlly I think it looks gr...
I'm not too sure why everyone is hating on these? They are the latest media released from the developers and are published on lots of sites now from the offical press packs.
Its not showing a hguge leap from the original game, but its not significantly worse either, and GOW was often touted as the best looking next gen game till COD4 arrived.
So why is everyone complaining these look fugly? They are pretty much what I expected to see, and though I'd hope for AA improveme...
Theres little that needs the full 50 gig available now, so we certainly don't need 400 gig for this gen of games. Its difficult to imagine what you could use all that space to store!
I suppose you could have a Guitar hero game with a few hundred tracks all at uncompressed multitrack audio qulity..
Or maybe one of them Jap bullet train games with the real video of the track network in full HD.
Or a new 'lord of the rings' game with a the bonus of the full HD exte...
Pretty daft article that misses the point of the monitor entirely!
Also an error in this posting - it should say displays over a 'billion colours' not a million, all monitors do that!
I'm actually getting one of these, as its a dream for me! I'm currently doing some movie post production work, and movies display in 10 bit per pixel colour space (30bit), where PC's use 8 bits per pixel (24bit). So the only way to see the proper image you'd see on the big screen ha...
Oh dear its hardly even worth spending the time typing a reply - your obviously an imbecile and not worth the effort..
I'm actually 44 , and as stated I've been developing games since the Amiga - to date I have 24 published games, and a number of unpublished titles.
Your poor understanding of normal mapping and how it is used belies your claims to being a games engine writer, as does your prose, which plainly marks you out as a complete fanboy. Real coders actual...
@ TayTayShaniqua
I'm a digital games artist, I've been making games and 3d models characters vehicles and environments for games for over 15 years now, on all formats for just about all the major publishers.
Your comments are absolute bull - the kind of ill informed trolling rubbish that lillte boys like to peddle because they have no life or real experience.
How many next gen game assets have you created? I thought so, your just peddling some bull...
Looks great - as expected. Not a huge leap foward graphically from GOW1, but when the game looks that good to start with thats not an issue!
'Cliffy B' is another wannabe egotistical wank*r, but if you know anything about development, the game is the result of lots of hard working intelligent individuals. Cliffy will be in management meetings all day and talking to press the actrual game you play will have very little to do with him.
Some one in here was mouthing...
Twisted Metal
Dark Cloud
Final Fantasy VII
Watch E3 for announcements. I expect tos ee all three of these titles on this platform. :)
Excellent!
I don't need much tempting to clear my save and play this excellent title again! :)
This is exactly the kind of excellent downloadable game I want to see more of on PSN - which is the home of 1080P games.
No suprises that Sega don't make money any more and have had to sell so many of their development assets.
Ds is about the only they are tooled for now. Such a shame... I had experience of working with Sega beack in the glory days, when they were a true world force in Development, but they lost the plot...
Make your machine hack proof, and you'll not have to worry about it.
the only machine that has no piracy is the PS3.
Carts for machines have always been available, and Microsoft allowed their 360 to be exploited by simply flashing the DVD firmware. If people can get soemthing for free, they will. You want to make sure you don't have a piracy problem - design a machine to be totally secure.
The articles point about offering a retail download servci...
