Excellent!
I loved the PSP game and I hope the PSN title will be just as adictive...
Too Harsh!
I do agree with many of the points the guy makes, but seriously, its not so broken as to deserve a 2 rating! 7 maybe, but 2 is far too harsh...
I fail to see how he can claim to have completed it in 8 hours? My first go through took 16 hours?
I did enjoy the first one - but there was so little time to simply enjoy the gardens and watch. You were so busy trying to rush from one incident to the next it felt like there was little time to enjoy what you had created.
I really hope this has been fixed in this version, as in all other ways this is a real gem of a title and massively enjoyable!
@karlostomy
If you didn't practice selective reading, you'd also notice that he said they make all their money on software sales and are making more than enough to offset the hardware loss. The overall buisness is currently profitable despite the hardware loss. I'd agree they wouldn't want to upset that balance with any price drops, but the buisness is cirrently profitable.
It will be interesting to see how this price cut goes down in the US.
Here in Europe this pri...
Care to explain the 'advanced mechanics' then?
I haven't spotted any advanced controls and I'm seriously wandering what you guys are refering to? Certianly theres very little to compare with the advanced combat in NG2 for instance, which is considerably more varied and skillful than this game?
You'd have to strongly suggest he's never played any other hack n slasher then.
Attention to learn? Theres a few combo's and a couple of extra customisable powers. The few options there are, would have been enough if there was any way of blocking. But there isn't, so the combat in this game is an endless serious of you trying to deliver as much damage as possible with no other options except a roll evade which is pretty useless as the opposition have you surrounded again before you ca...
The point is extremely simple to understand.
ALL consumer good are cheaper in the US than they are in Europe.
Sony's games are no exception, and neither are the titles for the 360 Wii, DS etc. Most TV's are almost half the price.
This is not due to a pricing policy of Sony's, it true of all sellers of consumer goods, so to argue that this is evidence of 'Sony shafting Europeans' is to miss the point entirely.
Your attitude and agression seem...
I think you've got to give them credit for trying, their perseverence is a true sign of commitment.
However, this price positioning seems similar to what happened in Europe some time ago, when they cut prices so that the arcade skew was cheaper than a Wii.
I'm afraid it didn't make much of an impact in the European territories, so I don't expcet it will make a huge difference in Japan.I guess time will see.
On the contrary - It was excellent twitch play 32 player death match action, and was very satisfying, and very popular.
Of course I hope for improvements, but I don't agree with you about the original title - which was particularly brilliant for a launch title.
I'd rather see some gameplay than an opening movie, but I'm always up for another 'ninja style slasher and will await more details on this with real interest!
I'd like to think your right.
I'm not having a bad time with this one, but its frustrating they didn't fix some of flaws to make it a 'AAA classic' instead of what it is.
Its bit frustrating to read dyaks defense of the game though, as according to him, the criticism of the game is completely unfounded and anyone not acknowledging its brilliance simply doesn't understand it. This doesn't give me hope that he will take on board the issues and improve the game for ...
Geez - I know everyone has different tastes, but to state that such a classy game as Mass Effect is not any better than this game clearly shows you don't have any ability to judge at all.
You can say you have a great time with this title, or even that its better to you, thats simply your tastes. But Mass Effect took interactive story telling to anew level that this definitely doesn't. Despite the glitches, Mass Effect was a beautiful game and this is not.

I still feel NG2 was a beter exclusive title this year - peerless combat mechanics despite some other disapointments.
Not that this is awful - its just not ultra-brilliant for the majority of us!
Its a little misleading - the headline that is.
Ultimately the hardware will start making a profit, but maybe only enough that its clawed its losses back by the end of the cycle.
But thats not the important part. The business as a whole makes a lot more money from software sales.
I was surprised to read that the software is already making so much profit:
" We are already making more money with the games than we are losing with the hardware.”

This is simply what will happen everywhere.
There's limited bandwidth on any system and increasing demand for it. In order to cater for the majority of users, they will penalize those few thats over use the system.
Its been like this in the UK for years. Most packages here have a monthly download quota averaging 30 to 40 gig for a month. But even if you sign up for an 'unlimited package', if you use a lot of bandwidth (say over 80 gig) then they profile your line and reduce you...
In the US only? NPD clearly shows PS3 is outselling the 360 for this year.
The margins are pretty small though, so given the enourmous lead in instal base for that country, if sales stayed at the level they are, it would take a very very long time for PS3 install base to match or surpass 360 install baser in the US. It's already done it in the other territories, and has already established itself as the number 2 console outside of the US.

Its simple spoiling tactics.
It makes no sense to talk about standards higher than 1080P. All you do is confuse the consumer. At the size of screen that most people will use in their living rooms, 1080P is an extremely impressive resolution that is as much as the vast majority of consumers will ever need.
At a time when the vast majority of consumers don't have an internet bandwidth that can serve up the compressed 720P offerings of the current download services...
I think your wromg to think Dyaks pompous attitude is responsable for the reviews this game has got.
It's got very patchy reviews because its a very patchy game! Anyone who has spent quality time with the finished product knows that it is far from the 'complete article'. Your final overall feeling is pretty much based on how much the level-up loot collecting pull grabs you. For some people its enough to make it an enjoyable experience, and I just about count myself as one of t...
It IS already over-hyped.
Many people think its a game, and act like its going to be the second coming of Christ!
What it does, it does very well, and its compelling and enjoyable. For those that like community meetings and launching multi player games with friends and such it will change the way you can use your PS3. But if you don't play much online - it will be a novelty that will soon wear off.
I'm one of the lucky beta testers and I do really ...
Hmmm. this sounds really interesting. I'm gonna check this out for sure!
