Thing is my friend - it doesn't 'play' at all. Its not a game.
I've been using it, and theres still plety more polish to be applied before it could be called a finished app. Whats there is great for what it is - but I've a feeling a lo of people have unrealistic expectations of it being a game, instead a very feature rich multiplayer lobby, so some people mioght be disapointed.
For my own part - I love it and have alresady made plenty more friends and played and enjoyed most of the silly mini games (which are very basic, but fun anyway)
So far - only the home square was 50 meg - all the other areas have been less than that!
This video shows nothing - pretty much like the last one.
StreetSkaterFU has happilly spewed BS to us before with the non-exsistant TeamIce loader and its rubbish videos before. They seem to do this for hits....
Given the huge number of previous fakes and false promises , from many groups - all accompanied by poor quality faked video's, and given this guys previous as a faker, I'd say theres almost zero chance of this being legit.
Play TV can only bee a Europe thing as its only Europe that has a digital TV standard established.
I can see home getting stupidly crowded already - if you had everyone in the world in the place Its just not going to work!
Its not so much the limit on how many characters can be in an area, its having to retrieve and store all the information about each and every character in the space that limits how many people can be in any one area at once. When you first enter an are...
There should be no question mate - if you have a PS3 already, then definately get a 360!
Its got some great games and theres some great ones coming out.
Any real games player needs all the machines to play the best games..
If you didn't have either, it would be tougher choice. I actually see things pretty similar to the guy in the article, though maybe not as clear cut, so I'd probably prefer a PS3 for the long term from here. But you should have both, as ...
It already does.
The stupid fanboy rhetoric of 'theres no games' is irrational delusionment peddled by corporate supporters with an agenda fueled by blind love or hate.
Lets remember that the vast majority of games this gen are multi format, so many of the great titles that people play on a 360, are also being played by PS3 owners (GTA4, COD4, Soul Calibur,Devil May cry 4 etc etc.)
You can add to that a list of other desirable titles that ARE exclu...
Alek is not Dark Alex and one line on that site proves nothing.
StreetSkaterFU - We know this guy to be a faker and liar. It will take a lot more than a couple of forum posts to make anyone take this seriously.
I was artist animator at bullfrog, worked ona lot of titles there, but hen EA squished all the IP's, took us to some huge horrible building in chertsey and had the teams disbursed amoung stpif football and sports titles. Real waste of a talented studio....
Still, that was 8 or more years ago now!
The bit about it arriving in america next week is true.
I'm in the UK and got my invite two days ago - was on home for a lot of yesterday.
The bit about sharing is Bull though. At least for the UK service. I'll quote the mail I got:
"Note: Promotional codes can only be used once and only the PSN Online ID we sent this email to will be able to connect to Home"
My wife tried using home last night on her sub account. It starts up and trieds ...
Not a fan of lightwave myself..but I know plenty of people are.
Nice environments, but if I can be constructively critical you are getting grainy results as the sample frequancy is too low. Turning it up is what gives you longer rendering times, but you don't get the 'grunge'. I appreciate that sometime the grunge is a nice effect for a static shot, but you often don't want that in comercial work as I'm sure you know - and if you render motion its just noisy, as the grain is not consi...
Well if this is true thats the end of 'Euphoria'.
you saw what happened to 'Renderware when the bought it? At the time they vought it it was the only middleware engine anyone planned on using, but they destroyed that and it dies - just like every company they ever buy!
If I sound bitter its because I was part of Bullfrog and had to watch them destroy it! :)
Absolutely mate. Not only has every BS story of a PS3 hack been utterly fabricated, but this guy has a long history of doing this.
I had to laugh when the first thing he claimed was Running War hawk of a HD. ITS A DOWNLAODABLE GAME AND RUNS OFF OF HD ANYWAY!
The problem is, that the net is full of gullible people who will believe this.. "theres no smoke without fire " they say.
But this is BULL.
This coming from a guy who's hardly been on the site and never made any constructive contribution to the site, ever?
Fortunately, not every user on here is as totaly pathetic as you, and I have an entire PM inbox of mails from other dev's on the site and users alike, thanking me for the insightful posts I make, and urging me not to take any notice of the blithering idiots like you.
How can a brain dead 'Gamestop' sales person know even the first thing about 3D ma...
Radiosity is indeed very cool.. but its stupidly expensive compared with normal raytracing techniques, and can increas the time taken to render a single frame by at least a factor of 10.
I use Vray to do proper light scattering radiosity rendering. If I can render an environmental frame in the 3D max or Maya default renderer or mental ray in about 60 seconds, it would take at least 10 minutes to do a full radiosity render, and that factor increases as the complexity of the scen...
I do pity you poor kids! :)
I had a 360 long before I had a PS3 and have played more games on that system. I still do and I still enjoy it. But only the infantile pretend the PS3 has 'no games', daft little mummy boys who obviously can't persuade their parents to buy more than one machine.
People who's balls have dropped and like to actually play games, will concede that all the machines have some great games and its worth owning every single one of them. I'll be first...
I got my invite yesterday. Its an email from 'playstation'. I'm in the UK.
If people wish to know what the invite really reads, I'm happy enough to reproduce mine here:
"

Whilst I concede you are making some good generic points, this article is purely about an attempt by a publisher to grab a slice of the pie from second hand sales of physical goods, and I re-state that they simply cannot do this.
Your assertion that this would lead to full games becoming download only, seemed to suggest this was going to start happening now, when in fact, this will certainly not happen in this generation, and unless theres a huge pipeline increase in the next f...
Games to be downloadable only? Certainly not in this generation, or I suspect, the next.
MS sells more arcade models than any other sku. No hard drive. Most 360's with a drive have a 20 gig one with just 15 gig available for storage, as I do. Thats just two full games, and not enough for even one JRPG.
The PS3 situation isn't much better. At least they all have hard drives, but the bulk of them are 40 gig drive with about 35 gig available. A game like Siren takes...
Theres a limited feature set implimented yet - some options don't have even a single option and you can't put up photo frames or TV's yet.
Also a lot of beta testers haven't visited all the stores and grabbed all the extra decor items that available there, which give you many more options. Currently, everything in the stores is free - including a nice summerhouse to go along with your appartment!
My only gripe is that my toy robot won't stand up straight on my display cabinet wi...
