I take a lot more notice of what Famitsu says than any western publication or the rubbish routinely posted by 'net journalists.

I started importing Famitsu from Japan over 20 years ago and started learning Japanese just so I could get some decent gaming knowledge, as the west had nothing at the time.

Over the years it has shown me that it has the correct balance of opinions to suit me. It doesn't buy into hype like nearly all the west does, and its not afraid to ...

Great! Pixel Junk monsters has had more play time from me, than almost all the 360 and PS3 games I've bought on disc. For £5, thats got to be good value! So another 'tower defense title' is more than welcome as long as the balence is right!

PSN is delievring some really great titles, and I look foward to games like this, flower and fat Princess almost as much as a major new disc based release, simply because many of the games have been so incredibly entertaining.

The guy seesm to have dual personality:

"David Cage and his presentation of Heavy Rain made me, however, even more excited for the title. Even before its release, Heavy Rain has stirred a lot of questions regarding the very nature of interactive art, and that more than well merits excitement."

Everyone should have an eye! The mic is birlliant and beats using a headset hands down! I use it constantly in Home beta - saves the tedious typing. Its also excellent to have video conferences with your mates - and the qulaity in good light is excellent.

Last week was simply a blip like all the other blips before it (Blue Dragon Ace Combat etc).

Given the historical eveidence, did anyone truly expect sales to remian so high when it had never done so before? Of course not, only someone like Bruceongames would thingk a weekly blip would 'crack the market'.

As long as they bring more titles of this ilk to the market there, MS will continue to increase its instal base, and that will be a good thing! But its a slow st...

Thanks for that mate. Looks extrememly good and rather sinister. Lots of little tech touches that are very impressive, something to look foward to for sure.

He's actually hurting his own game now with his attitude.
I was going to get this game, but his attitude and comments are makign me have a hard time. I musten't let anyone else decide for me I know, but this guy is so objectionable I'll feel bad by giving the game a sale... :)

Hey, I'm the last one to cut Bruce any slack, and my previous scribbling has shown that.
BUT he took the time to explain his reasons, and it was a perfectly logical and legitamate explanation as to why you would choose to do that.

As such, his reply should not be ripped to shreds. When you rip on a perfectly accetable and credible reply, you just nullify any claim to objectivity and lose any credibility when you rip on some of the comments that thouroughly deserve it. ...

Ahh..Bruce writes as if he plays games!
Which I can guarantee he doesn't.

How many times has he encountered kids running amok on PSN? I'm willing to bet its never. I'd be surprised if he'd ever even used the service.
Having used both PSN and Live extensively, there IS a service that is prone to annoying teenagers spamming and being a nuisance, and its not the PSN... Only someone with zero experience of the services could get it so completely wrong.

Standard should have been agreed from the very start. I'm glad Sony stood up and did something about it, and equally glad that Ms have followed suit.

Winner = gamers.

Nice of you to pop in Joe.

If you are sensing a bit of disbelief from some, its primarily due to the fact that your view contradicts some other sites points of views that many people have come to trust. Theres nothing wrong with that of course, but a review that seems to buck the consensus is often subject a bit more scrutiny or disbelief than other reviews might be.

Your review is well written, but seems to place a huge emphasis on the Story element of the game....

Dave Perry is a mover and shaker in the games dev world - and a highly respected industry professional who does LOT of work for developers all over the world and is leading force in many game dev coucils and bodies.

You can't dismiss his opinions too lightly, though I'd like to see the figures he basis that statement on. He does go on in the same address to say that the PS3 will sell the most software of any of this gens machines.
Quite how the two statements tie toget...

Not that I condone people's bashing - but this game was held up by the 'xbox faithful' as one of the AAA exclusives that meant the 360 had the best games this year again. Now that its been exposed as no more than 'average game in many peoples eyes' you'd expect the usual trolls to revel in that.

Lets face it, NG2 didn't set most of the world on fire, and neither has this. Given what was being written on these forums just 6 months ago, you'd expect a certain amount of 'crowing'...

I see your argument, but you seem to be forgettimg that by far the largest number of games coming to the PS3 are multi platform titles.

Almost any developer developing for a multiplat arcade style title will design their game with the 7.5gig dvd limit in mind. Of course, first party and exclusive titles will continue to feel unconstrained by space issues, but the fact is, the vast majority of titles will have been designed for the space constrictions imposed by the dvd format. ...

He's lost the plot.

I have sympathies for the game because I really want to love it despite its flaws.

But I've no sympathy for this guy at all, who deserves as much flak as he's gonna get.

6372d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

The whole rumour is seriously far fetched.

If you are talking those kind of figures then you would have to be talking about server expenditure in order to be able to support home, and not just the software dev costs.

He does take himself very very seriously.

I'm old school british me, I prefer a guy to be humble, but thats not his way at all. He genuinely believes he's crafted somthing truley wonderful, and that if you don't think so, you're too thick to get it. I find that a bit distasteful...

20 gig really is too small now that we have so many cool PSN titles and forced installs. Siren alone is 10 gig! :) Any with a 20gig should seriously consider upgrading to a larger drive.

I recommend 'scan.co.uk' for uk sales.

Though any 2.5" sata drive will do, stick with 5400 rpm as there very very little bennifit in speed when using a 7200 rpm drive, yet it uses more power, it louder and generates more heat.
If you need more of a recommendation, go ...
