I wonder if it is going to have mouse/ keyboard support on the PS4. I know it is an option and some games support their use.
To the article, Wrong! The game is actually good. It is fun and relaxing to play. An interactive movie that allows the player to be absorbed into the game world and control the outcome. Could there be improvements? Sure, you could say that about every game. But, I think this game more than any I can think of in history, has been subject to overbearing and unnecessary scrutiny since its initial announcement. Click bait fodder for overzealous "journalists" and system fanboys, just wai...
*1080p will always look better than an upscaled 900p image
* 900p shows more visual flaws using the same effects across the board compared to a 1080p image(more aliasing as pixels are estimated and arent in the original scene to be counted by the hardware, they are added post GPU and not calculated in any way) color also tends to suffer, as the added pixels arent perfectly color matched and are more blended, adding desaturation to the overall scene. Detail in background items is lost ...
Im playing the game now and it isnt bad. Yes, there are a lot of cinematics and some QTEs, but its made to present an interactive story. The visuals are incredible with an atmosphere thats second to none. If they add more reasons to explore and larger areas to do it in, they have a hit. The gunplay is solid and fun.
As others before me have said, some tweaks here and there and it would be amazing. As it is right now, Id easily rate it a 7.5-8. Its something that fills the gap...
No, they are using a dynamic resolution. Basically when things get heated on screen, they can drop the resolution to keep the frame rate running at a constant clip. I'm wondering if this is actually noticeable while you're playing. It's actually cool they can do that, because at times when you're just walking around and there isn't much going on, You can explore and enjoy the world in the highest resolution. When things get tense on screen, the resolution will drop, which ...
Holy god, does that look good. The color fix and realtime lighting, truly add a new feel to the presentation. I like the added atmosphere, too. The beach balls and birds flying around, just gives it a fun, spring/ summer like feel.
Cant wait to play it!
Peter Molyneux's issue is... he doesnt understand technology. He has these wild dreams of what could be, but doesnt stop to think what is actually possible at the moment due to hardware limitations. He is like a child, full of dreams and aspirations, that doesnt fully understand what it takes to actually fly to the moon or mars. He talks about it, like a normal person talks about driving to the store and buying milk. As if it is truly that easy. The problem being, it never is and he ends ...
I've been gaming since the pong days and actually do think that leveling up is one of the most important aspects of any game. It allows you to believe that you're affecting the character and the world around you. Your character just doesn't remain the same throughout the entire game, your actions are causing changes to that character and they are growing as a result of it. Allowing you to accomplish tasks easier, as would be the case in the real world as you got stronger and more ...
I hope "opportunity" doesn't ultimately mean yearly installments... its how great franchises turn to good, then repetitive and stale. Ask Ubisoft. EA suffers from it also. Madden does not need yearly installments, it should get yearly DLC updates that include graphics, players, gameplay fixes, etc...
What these big corporate developers should have are franchises that hit every two years, that they can cycle between. That way, they give their employees enough tim...
I agree with both of you. GT6 holds its own against a game running on hardware many times more powerful. The reflection pop in PCars is ridiculous. Ive never seen another game that had reflections pop as if they were a part of the LOD... Which is suggesting to me, that they are pre baked and not realtime.
I still, to this day, cant believe we are playing games that look like this. How anyone can bitch about next gen visuals, after seeing these, is beyond me. And... This is just the tip of the iceberg! The end of this generation is going to be truly amazing.
This PC/ console argument is a moot point. Of course PC is more powerful, the problem is... Only a handful of PC owners own the most powerful of those machines and it doesnt make sense, financially, for every developer to harness that power. Considering youd be doing that work for a very small population of PC owners. So, you develop for mid range PC owners and then allow high end gamers to crank up AA, resolution, Draw distance and AF. You essentially get the same game that artificially look...
This video just sold the game for me. I truly thought it was just a Gears Of War clone before this. The way the character moves along with zero aliasing and high poly character models just makes this look like a high dollar CGI movie. I think it helps that the game takes place in such an interesting period of history. With some of the most distinguished people from our science and history books.
Should be a fun play through. Im not sure how much replayability there will be, b...
Im not sure what everyone expects to happen in less than a years development time, but considering they went from baked to realtime lighting and shadows then color correcting everything to look picture perfect, while improving and adding animation and AI routines and are still able to achieve 1080p and 60fps is amazing! Thats on top of all of the other tweaks and additions, both visually and gameplay wise.
As the lead on the project said... When a new generation of hardware l...
So texture pop and LOD issues are the way that you do mountains? Because if that's the case, almost every developer has got them down perfect. :)
Since it's taking place in the era of episodes four, five and six, I would want it to follow the story of the movies with the ability to change the outcome of those movies. When if Luke actually turned to the Darkside, or Han Solo decided not to help and just continued pirating? I just think it would be cool to be able to change the history of the movies or follow them, if youd like. Allowing players to play them out anyway they want to and travel from planet the planet to planet doing so...
This is one series I wouldnt mind seeing a GTA like remaster done to, to spark interest for a true sequel. I never got a chance to play any of the original games, owning an Xbox 360. This is the series I was most jealous of last gen. That one I wished was on my system. I find it a bit peculiar that these, of all games, werent some of the first to be put on PS Now.
So I imagine that there is a remaster on the way, then a proper sequel. Or at least, I hope. :)
I agree wholeheartedly. Anyone who didnt play Red Faction Guerilla and still has a last gen system. Buy it. It can be had for $5 at Gamestop used. You will wonder why every games physics engine doesnt behave like this and then wonder exactly what is next gen about the current gen games that have released so far. Other than visuals. Because no developer has come close to mimicking the awesomeness of what this game accomplished. You didnt just shoot enemies in the face, you could take out a bui...
The fact that they reference Red Factions dedtruction, has me intrigued. I still consider Red Faction the only NextGen game of the last generation, as its use of physics were beyond any other game that came out during its time and even after it. If they pull this off with Just Cause 3, I will be one happy camper. I think physics is one of the most important aspects in a game environment as it allows the objects in the game world to behave realistically, with real world attributes. Making tak...
Im going to agree that it has to do with the upgrade system. Looks like an early, less powerful version of a fire spell.
