it seems there are many conflicting reports on this. Nobody knows who to believe. You can look at 10 different articles and get half of them saying you need one and half of them you don't. According to the people who work for Fanatec and Logitech, you need a chip for full functionality and their legacy wheels will never be supported.
The reason some PS3 Thrustmaster wheels work, is because they supposedly already had the chip in last gen.

Accessories need a Sony made security chip installed in order to work with the PS4. It was Sonys way of ensuring that the PS4 doesnt get hacked by third party accessories. Which is why the G27 will not work, via firmware upgrade or anything else.
Long winded attempt at bringing morality to what is meant to be a fun pastime. Gaming is a getaway from the hard choices each of us make everyday. Not something that is meant to portray the way, we as humans, live. Fantasy worlds that allow us to become superheroes in otherworldly places. Do things we never could in reality.
Anyone who tries to draw a line between reality/ human morality to videogames, needs to take a step back and examine their own lives. Figure out why they...
This is one of my most anticipated titles. I just hope the Friday The 13th like feel translates to fun gameplay. The AI of the killer has to be top notch, in order to create a constant threat for the player, as a counselor. The same goes for counselor AI, which has to differ from person to person and make for a fun time trying to kill each of them.
If these are in game screenshots, then it looks incredible. I grew up watching every one of the Friday films, as many times as I ...
Im not seeing anything mentioning force feedback on the box. I imagine it has to have it though. Translates to only $207.73 US Dollars(though Im guessing the retail will be $199)? Wow. If force feedback, its a hell of a deal. Especially if it compares to the Thrustmaster T500(both having a clutch and add on shifter, the T300 requiring purchase of new pedal set for clutch).
Yeah, the difference is UBisoft releases games that are not finished. Projekt Red released a finished game with some bugs. Which happens with almost every game ever released. I can remember as far back as the Xbox and having issues with UBisoft games. Save files corrupted or deleted after dozens of hours of gameplay, commercials portraying in game visuals that never come to fruition, game breaking bugs and glitches that testers couldnt have never missed if they did their job correctly.
I generally dont participate in threads like this, as they are just cannon fodder for fanboy banter. Though, I find it comical that the Brand that is ahead... Needs to prove something. Sony has sold twice as many systems on the backbone of third party releases, with very little first party support. What do you think is going to happen when those games finally do come?
The thought process and denial that one must go through to write an article like this, is mind boggling. Micr...
As others have eluded to, this just goes to show how much Projekt Red optimized each version and made the best out of each systems strengths. The PS4 version looks very close to the Ultra settings @ 1080p. Though Im sure the differences become much more pronounced when you get to 4K. The biggest difference I see is the ambient occlusion. Which gives the PC version a bit more depth to the textures, due to the increased contrast. The texture resolution is also a win for the PC, but only by a sl...
While I appreciated the video, it is too casual friendly to be informative. I want to hear the technical details of how the streaming engine works and how it forgoes the usual pitfalls that even some of the best games couldnt. Like draw in and shadow pop. The Witcher 3s LOD seems to have dozens of states to pull from. Allowing it to slowly fade detail into the scene without the player noticing it. There isnt the normal line in the sand that you can see 10 or 15 feet in front of you where low ...
The best statement Ive seen here. Im convinced the people who make the most noise, both console and PC, spend more time trolling the forums than actually playing games. Play the game on your system of choice, enjoy it and have fun. Isnt that what gaming is supposed to be? Fun?
This constant bickering on whos system is faster and plays better games, is ridiculous! Let me end the argument with this:
Console = cheaper... lesser, but decent visuals, though faster...
PC people will always defend their overpriced rigs and kick and scream like children when developers don't meet their expectations. They expect the gaming world to cater to their needs, because they spent more money. Putting fingers in their ears when the truth is spoken about them being in the one percentile of people who actually own these ultra PCs. The very fact that developers fail to make games that cater to their needs, doesn't stop them from going out and spending hundreds and...
Looks incredible. I hope these visuals translate to gameplay and arent just super lit photo mode models. As they finally look real and as if they are using some of the procssing power of the current gen machines.
Lets hope all of the great modes from last gen are reinstated with some better presentation that makes it truly feel like a Sunday broadcast. If so, it should finally bring Madden into the next generation and be the football game fans have dreamt about for ages.
The author of this artcile obviously didnt know the deal between Microsoft and Projekt Red. It had nothing to do with CD Projekt Red favoring Microsofts console. Microsoft simply wanted the rights to produce the card deck and include it in their LE version of the game, along with a cloth world map, to give gamers incentive to buy the Xbox One version of the game. In return, CD Projekt Red got a monetary sum. That is it. It had nothing to do with advertising or pushing the game on Microsofts c...
This is my dream game, though I am worried that these guys may never consider it done and we may never see it released. How do you tweak so many planets, to look interesting and not have flaws that keep you from traversing them? They obviously cant go planet to planet and physically fix everything, but they can tweak their equations to better define what they are looking for in its render and consistency. But, in doing so, they may cause other issues. Which is why Im worried that this may bec...
Yeah, it sounds like this article was created for the sole purpose of making controversy to garner hits and get attention for the website and magazine. Not rating it bad enough to draw negative attention, but creating enough controversy to get people to react. In my opinion, what they're saying is they would rather have lesser visuals and world interaction, then to have a few loading screens. But, its that world interaction which is what sets this game apart from other RPG's. Your act...
LoL. We didn't make enough stock to supply stores around the world with the game, so we want people who aren't happy with the bugs and glitches to return it, so other people can play the game and find the same bugs and glitches, to return it so more people can play the game and find the bugs and glitches. Ridiculous.
Truthfully, it is the most laughable thing I've ever read in my life. I keep reading it over and over, thinking Im missing something.
I can understand Projekt Red wanting to protect the story and surprises from being broadcast. You want people to experience the game for themselves and not through the eyes of another gamer or early reviewer, that may ruin plot points meant to drive the game and story forward.
Im glad this restrictions in place, because with the game releasing so soon... I dont want to be tempted into ruining anything, before I play it myself.
You bring up good points and Id also like to interject that weather and time of day are dynamic, constantly changing... which makes screenshots moving targets, as far as trying to match A to B. To get the exact same lighting and weather situation, would take a very patient person. Sitting and waiting for the perfect storm of lighting, weather and shadows, in order to do a 1:1 true comparison.
Its no wonder gamers are so jaded. The gaming press made them that way by making new...
First off, I find these comparisons unsettling. The game looks as good as it does, better than anything else on the market, and people have to find fault. Secondly, quite a few of these shots are taken at a different time of day, with different lighting, so whos to say it isnt said lighting that is causing the difference in the look of some textures. Some shots claim lower draw distance, yet its unknown whether the fog is there for effect or LOD draw. Im not saying things havent changed... bu...
When people start reading to much into anything, what happens? They lose interest, it becomes more of a task than an adventure. You lose what was meant to be to what if? I agree that some games have contemplative stories that may mirror our own existence, but even then... if you look to far into them, arent you chipping away at the very reason you sat down to play it? A getaway from everyday. A moment of peace and tranquility that is yours, that allows you to be someone else in some other pla...
