I wholeheartedly agree with this review. This is a game that is classic in execution. It's very reminiscent of top down 2D shooters of the 80s, but in 3D. Just fire at everything that moves and hope you don't die in the process. Which, as the game progresses, is easier said than done. Making it pertinent that you pick the right weapon for the level you are on... or you will die a lot. In the meantime, they drop weapon upgrades and upgrades to your health. There are a ton of levels, w...

Im hoping Nintendo pulls a rabbit out of their hat and makes a system that not only matches and exceeds current generations offerings, but helps shed the kiddy reputation. I think, a Nintendo system that not only enjoys the plethora of first party offerings, but also gives gamers their favorite third party games that look and run better than the competitions systems would steamroll the market.

BUT... and I capitalized it as a must... They have to come out of the gate letting ...

This is what I was hoping for when they announced VR. Something that would not only replicate your one to one movement, allowing you to move your fingers and pick up stuff in the game, but maybe something that would give you feedback via air bladders or something to make you feel like that something is in your hand.

Great stuff if they can get it right.

I think you may have hit it on the head. I truly think they are playing it down, in order to surprise everyone. In business, its much better to underpromise and overperform, then the other way around. The alternative would be a step backwards for game quality in order to up interactivity. Sony said before that the box did all of the heavy lifting for the reprojection. If the PS4 has to do the calculations for reprojection, games will look like PS2 games if there is a lot of geometry in the sc...

Agreed, and while Unravel is a beautiful looking game… It's not pushing any boundaries hardware-wise. I would like to hear a AAA developer like Naughty Dog, Remedy or Sony Santa Monica tell us exactly what they are doing different now that they didn't at the beginning of the generation and what they foresee in the future on the hardware. Is the difference going to be night and day like the beginning and end of the generation for the PS3? Or, is it going to be less pronounced or notic...

That makes two of us. Cant wait to play them! I feel very fortunate to be able to play the best of the PS3 era(I was an Xbox 360 owner) with modern visuals in tow. Im hoping we see the Resistance collection redo, as it would complete every game I longed to play last gen.

Between these games, Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted 4... its going to be awesome to be a gamer this spring!

You and I both. Sounds like a blast! Part Far Cry(FPS, light RPG) part Age Of Empires( Resource Gathering, building, creating) Part ARK(time period, resource gathering and building) part Thief/ Hitman/ Metal Gear(stealth, finding and executing your target, building skills). It sounds like a dream game for me, combining some of my favorite genres. Im hoping that we can customize the look of our huts and villages, along with have villagers colllect resources and make buildings, etc... like in A...

Yes, yes, yes and yes! While I beat the first two, I never got a chance to play Infinite. Though, I would love to play the first and second game with a next gen makeover. I was hoping for this remake, cant wait to play it!

Good to hear. Thank you for taking the time to post this.

Im hoping theyve eliminated the aliasing and added life inside and around the stadium this year. Day/ night cycles would be cool, also, with the ability to change the speed in which it changes. Id also like to see realtime weather changes, with storms rolling in and out. Changing from sunny to cloudy to rain, then back to sun. Presentation could use some additions. Other than them few things, the game looked pretty solid last year.

Gameplay was also fairly solid last year. Th...

I'll be interested for somebody like digital foundry to do a frame rate test pre and post patch. I've hesitated starting this game until the frame rate issues are ironed out, so I experience it in its best light.

While I agree things need to improve, the models in this game and many games actually exceed what Pixar had done just 10 years ago. While we haven't caught up to modern day, I don't believe we would see that for 10 to 20 years down the line. You are talking about doing full screen realtime ray tracing with every light projecting, hitting and bouncing around the entire scene. Which is what makes the Pixar movies looks so realistic. Not to mention, adding controls and AI and story fea...

There isnt any added sharpness on the Xbox One version, it has a saturation push... but it seems both versions have equal draw distance, AA and texture detail. I couldnt see a difference, other than the forementioned saturation(a difference between the systems video output processors, seen in every game when compared)... which could be easily rectified by changing the color setting on your set.

Any difference is going to be seen in frame rate or v-sync continuity. Which seem...

If DLC packs weren't such a mystery to everybody, I don't think many would have a problem with a price increase knowing what they are getting into with it. I think the biggest issue with most developers DLC and season passes, is that gamers have no clue what is going to be included... And are left at the mercy of their $20-$30 investment and the whim of the developer, just how far they want to go with DLC.

Its why I always wait and see with DLC. If I see a developer mak...

How does this even surprise anybody? PC players have had multiple Star Wars games and MMOs that covered what this game offers and even offered great single player on top of it. To them, this is just a stripped down version of something they've been playing for the past 20 years. Shadows Of The Empire, Republic Commando, Galaxies, The Force Unleashed games, Jedi Knight, back to the X-Wing and Tie Fighter series of games.

I'm a console gamer and this doesn't shock ...

I appreciate your input. Though, by the time Heavy Rain releases, I imagine I'd be able to get Beyond Two Souls for $10 or less... so for the two of them, max, I'm going to pay $20. I'm not even sure if I will get them the second Heavy Rain comes out. As, my backlog is quite huge at the moment.

I do appreciate your input. Not many people would take the time to educate others, so they get a few different points of view before they take the leap and spend any mone...

Awesome! I owned an Xbox 360 last generation and didn't get a chance to play these great, groundbreaking games. So, to get to play them with a next gen remodel... is incredible. People may hate these remakes, but I love them because it gives me a chance to play some of the best, most influential games from last generation looking like they are something that was built and designed for current gen consoles.

Now... give me a Resistance collection and every game I craved to pl...

Dumbest poll Ive ever seen. Poll developers that never tried it and aren't planning on developing games for it and ask them if they think it will be a viable part of the industry. Thats like asking a blind guy to try out your new 3D glasses and ask him to give you his honest opinion on the future of them.

What they showed in the unveiling video was not that of an actual game with AI and controls involved. It was a mock up of what they hoped the final product would look like. I agree that developers need to stop doing this, as it confuses the consumer. It's always better to aim low and achieve high, that way you surprise people instead of disappoint them. Whether or not the unveiling video was in engine or just a prerendered video is up for debate, and whether those assets were actually pa...

This shouldnt shock anybody. You have to look at it from a business point of view. It doesn't make any sense to add effects and higher resolution assets to any one version of the game in order to please such a small percentile of the population. While there are a ton of PC gamers, only a small percentage of those actually own the high-end systems. This shouldn't be a shock to those high-end system owners either, as you have been getting the same treatment for the past 20 years. With ...
