It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

The jag CPU has been modified to the point that it cannot even be considered Jaguar anymore, according the recent articles, so the CPU has already been confirmed to be far beyond anything upon which it is based. MS made a total of 60 changes to the function of the parts inside the Scorpio ( maybe they were just asthetic changes... or MS lies? /sarcasm).

I guess if MS had simply demonstrated their 6tf machine outperforming a GTX 1070 by using a real XB1 game like Forza 6 ru...

It even has checkerboard accelerators, similar to Pro, for devs who want to take advantage of the reduced overhead for better performance elsewhere.

MS has had a long standing relationship with Toshiba, going well before HD DVD.

But on that note, I'm out! ✌

The cell processor was good for streaming media... like Blu Ray... which is why Sony made all of you believe Blu Ray was necessary for you... when it was really necessary for them to make sure they didn't lose to HD DVD. HD DVD had a better codec, more features, and better sales. As soon as PS3 launched, HD DVD was dead, and everybody (including MS who didn't put HD DVD into the 360) knew it would happen that way.

WTF, Rude-Ro, you can't be serious right now. MS made 60 improvements to the GPU based off of how EVERY SINGLE XBOX ONE GAME RUNS INTO BOTTLENECKS. You are right that there is a huge difference between Pro and Scorpio, it's just the opposite of what you contend.

As for 12 (I assume you mean DX12), it continues to evolve as far as game engines go, and new features like SM6 and Nvidia's physics and lighting renderer will perform very well on DX12 HW. Nvidia say...

Sony waited a year to launch the PS3 and the 360 still outperformed it. Using your logic, I guess that makes Sony "stupid"?

XB1 has 4K support too... how many XB1 games are native 4K though? Pro has 4K support, sure, but none of Sony's 1st party studios are supporting native 4K. If Guerilla or PD can't hit native 4K, who will? Hardly anything on Pro hits native 4K and that's the way it will stay because Sony built for checkerboarding.

Consider the 43% Scorpio advantage on paper, and then factor in the 60 improvements that optimize efficiency over the pure power specs. Scorpio wi...

Well, this explains why we can't seem to get rid of certain PS4 fans from trolling this site. Cockroaches aren't smart... they're just hard to get rid of!

Gameplay first, always.
Gameplay + graphics is an asthetic bonus.
Graphics - gameplay is totally worthless (unless it's a movie).

That's why I like to go back play older games that have great gameplay (like Resident Evil, Turok, or Freedom Fighters). To prove my point, look at what happened to COD BO2 when it launched on XB1 BC; its player count is about the same now as Battlefield 1's because gameplay matters more than graphics.

FYI, replays don't have to account for AI, physics, etc., so they use the extra power for image enhancement.

It's actual gameplay? Nope, it's actual replay.
It's rendered from the engine? Yes.
Buddy, what are they then? REPLAYS, not GAMEPLAY.

See how easy that is?

Tech demo... using the retail release of the two year old Forza 6, upgraded to beyond PC Ultra settings, on dev kits that only output about 80% of the final specs of Scorpio. Forza 7 is going to kill the tech demo.

I know it's hard to believe, and I still don't understand it completely myself, but Turn 10 said it will...

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens to multiplats running new, native DX12 engines over the next 12 months or so. If 3rd party XB1 games come close to parity with their PS4 counterparts then it would be confirmed.

6tf ≠ 1.4, which means they're different. Scorpio is PART of the XB1 FAMILY.

According to Turn 10, the way that games will be developed now that Scorpio is the lead platform means that DX12, with native DX12 engines specifically, will finally be adopted by 3rd parties and the benefits of reduced CPU overhead will be realized in future releases even on OG XB1. No more patches that only take advantage of some features. SM6 has a lot to do with DX12 performance, and few...

^ This.

If you want a visual representation of the overall quality of ME:A, just look at a picture of Ryder... She's similar to a human being but slightly off in a number of ways that just make her ugly. Same thing here, because ME:A is just an ugly game.

"Around Forza 6, we knew that in the future we were going to have to move to DX12."

Yep, and look at what DX12 is doing for Forza 6 on Scorpio. Turn 10 even states that designing for Scorpio will make XB1 games look better (hint: because XB1 also has the DX12 HW). So much for all the DX12 won't help the XB1 arguments.

A five year old could improve it, TBH.

3347d ago 15 agree4 disagreeView comment

It's simple. The article says MS is helping Sony and Sony is helping MS, but there's more.

MS and Sony are abandoning traditional console generations. MS and Sony are both implementing more methods of digital distribution that doesn't need branded HW to function. There's more to it than this too, but you get the idea that they are working together on more than just VR.

I just wanted to point out how hilarious it is that I say the same thing in both my posts about the Scorpio renders, but down here I get two agrees and above I ended up with 5 disagrees.

Not really concerned, TBH, because "no one gets left behind" and Scorpio is part of the XB1 family... not an "Xbox Two" or whatever we may call it. Scorpio is the lead platform for development, that's all, and it will help the Xbox One I own to look better too. When something replaces Scorpio as the lead platform is when XB1 support may dwindle.

I'm just curious to see how DX12 game development will affect the XB1, now that devs will use it to ...
