It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Scorpio is going to stupefy so many people around here with it's "plain old, underpowered Jag processors" running 3rd party 4k games with no problems at all. Plus, it's so simple to get an XB1 game up to native 4K that it only took one guy 2 days to do it. I wouldn't be surprised to see any game that already has 4K assets on PC get an upgrade since it can't cost more than a few hours worth of dev time to do it.

Big Pappy, Death, and Playable Games are speaking the truth.

Tyasia, OTOH... You must have missed when MS cancelled Fable and Scalebound when they weren't meeting expectations of quality (means they care about good games and gamers alike, or they would have released them anyways). Or the point when Phil said that now that Scorpio is wrapped up and the XB1 features and services are so robust, MS is putting that same level of focus into making games too. MS has been hon...

I guess if you like Dishonored or Bioshock it looks okay. Honestly, it looks a bit bland and unoriginal ATM.

A new Devil May Cry perhaps? Dino Crisis? Maybe a new IP? Should be interesting to see what Capcom is up to.

You're right, and I've been saying the same thing as 343 about the cache size. I went back and looked, and it was the >GPU< L2 cache that quadrupled. The CPU cache stayed the same size, but I wonder if they are running full speed cache now instead of the half speed cache normally found in the Jag cores? MS hasn't revealed all its' Scorpio innovations yet, and this could be one area (of 60) that has been improved.

Either way, MS is hitting their nati...

I just assumed it had one. Nintendo's specialty is portable consoles, so why wouldn't they have included a headphone jack in their new portable system?

My mind is blown right now...

S2Killinit, do you actually believe what you typed?

The answer to your question is any dev who signed a contract, has pride in their workmanship, and wants to continue be successful. If there are devs out there who behave as you suggest, they're not going to be around much longer when their lackluster games produce lackluster profits. Basically, they'd be tarnishing their reputations more than they'd hurting MS and wouldn't be able to pay their bills.

I agree about declining profits through HW sales, but most profit is actually made through SW and services. Using Sony as an example, they would have 25+ million more people to sell their games to on Xbox consoles right now. That alone would be more profitable than any profits from console sales they might lose. Also, a monopoly couldn't form because the consoles would all be using the same architecture to process games, but with different features just like Blu Ray players. With or w...

Brothers in Arms is the way WW2 is supposed to be told. The four F's is the way battles were fought.

COD is a cross between Michael Bay movies and Rambo.

It would actually be better if consoles were able to play all software, like dvd players. Then we could choose the features and manufacturers we prefer for our technology but still enjoy all the games with only one console purchase. It's hard to justify a second console for a few exclusives when I barely have time to play what I want on one console.

It would also be better for devs, who could code to only one spec per generation. It would even be better for 1st party...

Seriously, Forza physics and Hot Wheels cars/tracks go together way better than I'd imagined when I'd read the headline, and I'd thought it was going to be cool to begin with!!!

I also agree that PG does have a good staff, I hope their new dev team and game studio pulls off this type of magic for their upcoming "not Forza" game too.

Actually, if you read between the lines, I think 343's got something else cooking up right now. First, there's been no hype around a new Halo at all, which is weird on its own. This is really the first bit of news, and it sounds like they're just starting to focus on the story elements. Since story creates the foundation for the locations that artists need to create, this suggests that 343 is finishing up work on something else... something in development at least since Halo 5 ...

Did you like the Duke? Some of my friends were Duke diehards... I went with the S and never looked back.

Ironically, the kid in the picture has hands that are almost too big for the Switch controller already.

OG Xbox needed smaller controllers than the Duke, otherwise controller sizes are just fine. My son has been playing Xbox since hes was four without any problems. Leave the micro controllers to the 3rd parties instead.

Id is finally working on a "core neutral" engine. Hopefully, other 3rd parties get off the old engines and do the same because wee need to move on from last gen programming in order to exploit XB1 and Scorpio. These engines will also help PS4/Pro to a lesser degree.

Matter of fact, many devs were still unhappy with the power of PS4 and XB1 when they launched.

The article is about a job listing to hire people to work on the Avatar system, so Rare is not involved in this project.
