Correction: It was Phil Harrison who worked for Sony.
Godmars... Forza 6 is running PC Ultra+, on unfinalized dev kits, and it isn't even maxed out yet.
Phil promised a true 4K machine, and it is. Even 3rd parties are having no problems getting their games running in 4K on Scorpio. What Scorpio promises did Phil make that need more time to be proven?
Shadowrun on the genesis was freaking awesome! If MS could capture the essence of open-world apocalypse like Fallout and add the tech-noir aspects of Deus Ex, it would be a masterpiece.
Of course, excecuting that concept would be extremely challenging for any devs not already familiar with open-world RPG's, so having someone like Bethesda or Obsidian would almost be necessary at this point. Coincidentally, Bethesda has several unannounces AAA games in the works right ...
He lived up to his Scorpio promises and he says MS is focused on games now too. I also hope he can restore your faith with the E3 presentation.
Honestly though, wasn't Phil the head of talent aquisition for developers with Sony before coming to MS? If there's anything Phil should excel at, it should be games.
Ironically, the difference between Pro and native 4K can still be seen on a 1080p screen.
You're right though, it won't affect gameplay or fun, which is why I like BC so much. So many fun, classic games to play!
World of Tanks already had 4K textures, but remember that it only took Turn 10 two days with one employee to get Forza 6 running in 4K. The amount of native 4K games from 3rd parties is going to be insane.
Right, Rain, but I didn't say it would be exclusive. I said it would work really well on DX12 HW, which is designed to run physics and lighting. DX12 doesn't make Havok effective, it makes it more effective... or did you forget what a HW accelerator is?
Also, you're really going to call what Nvidia showed at GDC rudimentary math? It is the beginnings of CG quality physics being rendered in real time, and it's far more advanced than any other physics rende...
Good point, I forgot about Build. 👍
And the idiot of the year award goes to... Yao-Bling, for their outstanding ignorance towards the the fact that Sony launched their mid gen console last year! Scorpio isn't a reaction to Pro. Period.
In your ignorance, it seems you're suggesting that MS announced Scorpio last year, architected the 60 modifications made to the parts, tested every single XB1 game running on it, put dev kits into the hands of developers, and managed to get Scorpio launch titles ready?...
Really, Tank? If it just works, how come you have the option to turn it off when it's just doesn't?
Just works simply means it's an automated process, and it also wasn't a cheap shot at Sony like Moldy suggests. They literally just answered the question about having a boost mode.
If anything, Sony's Boost Mode is the cheap shot, not the fact that MS did things right with Scorpio. How can there be more CPU power, higher bandwidth, ...
Sony has PS+ and they have PS Now... subscriptions on top of subscriptions. As far as EA Access goes, ask Sony why they wouldn't allow consumers to have the option to subscribe to it on a PS4. Sony is the most consumer friendly, "for the players" system though, right?
BTW, I am buying the games I want, play them as much as I want, and don't pay any fees to do so on my XB1 right now. Oh, and that also includes 360 games. How is playing PS3 discs in your ...
And XB1.
DX12 HW is designed to be really efficient with advanced physics and lighting renderers, so it looks like the aquisition of Havok was merited after all. Nvidia corrobotates this, saying that their new physics and lighting rendering solution works best on DX12 HW. Scorpio development is supposed to make XB1 games look better too, according to Turn 10, but you're right about it likely being announced at E3.
Switch is number two alright, and sales will die soon enough.
@ Godmars
How is it that MS is asking 3rd parties do do things for their system?
How is having shown Forza 6 not considered showing what can be done already?
Can't you understand that MS is also going to be showing what the system can do at E3?
We, as fans of the originals, talked about the lack of depth the whole time the first one was in production. The list of things from the first two Battlefronts that didn't make it into the game was longer than the things that did, and all DICE did was create excuses instead of content.
Now all of the sudden they know what fans want? Bunch of money grabbing assholes is what Dice are.
What about rabbit punches or donkey punches?
Which begs the question, "Why revisit a part of the war from a past game if WW2 has so many stories to tell?"
Kind of telling of the COD community if you ask me. I thought it looked predictable, bland, and contrived... worse than any other recent COD campaign. On top of it being a rehash of part of WW2 we've already seen, it looks like it isn't going to be that good at all. Hopefully the MP is more traditional for fans of the seies though, because that's all that ever mattered with the franchise anyways.
Ironic, you asking us to ignore the ignorant. What would that make us if we did that?
Lol at the correction disagrees... are you people really that daft? Phil Harrison was the Executive Vice President of SCEE before working for MS. Sorry I got the two of them confused, but it was several years ago for crying out loud. I looked it up when Ninsigma pointed out that I'd made the mistake, so the least you guys could do is educate yourselves too.
