It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

@ Foxtrot

The points I made are directly towards the topic of the article, which is who cares more about their consumers. Do you consider my points to be pro-consumer or not? Do you consider them to be accurate? Honestly, if what Sony is doing offends you, maybe you should do something about it instead of turning a blind eye and crying fanboy when people like me point out that Sony isn't perfect.

I can still see aliasing in a 4K game, so I can see the interaction of the pixels even at 4K resolution. Seeing 4K pixels is largely dependent on how big/close the srceen is too. If you meant that you cannot actually see an individual 4K pixel, then I apologize for misunderstanding your post.

IMO, 8K will likely be the upper limit, because then even a 120" tv will still have excellent pixel density.

Genesis had double the speed of the SNES and could handle larger sprites an more objects on screen. Snes had a color advantage of 256 colors to Genesis' 64, and it had a better (Sony-made) audio processor though. In the end, Genesis was more powerful than Snes.

No, he's saying PS4 broke the trend of less powerful consoles always selling better.

@ Foxtrot

What's the point of not providing evidence to support your view if you believe MS isn't the most consumer friendly?

I guess consumer friendly means removing PS Now from devices already sold to consumers? Banning accounts after consumers get refunds? Not honoring PS4 repairs on infested systems when they designed the PS4 to be a roach motel? You've got nothing which is why you say nothing, so move along and be done with it.

Those are the engines that XB1 and Scorpio are deesigned to exploit.

PS4 is winning right now with no chance for MS to catch up, so the answer is yes. The real question is what does it matter who wins? I play games, not sales.

The lighting and cars look good, everything else... not so much.

Conker with a british accent and a monacle was priceless!

Seriously though, DKR was leagues better than any Mario Kart. Story, boss battles, arena multiplayer, multiple vehicle types... pure awesome.

Why not just make a COD zombie apocalypse game? I think many people would love the hell out of it, and they wouldn't even have to copy their competition or potentially rehash their old plots.

The truth is actually unknown, but the interviews about the tech in Scorpio and the Forza 6 demo seem to contradict the "truth" of this opinion piece.

Both of those are based off of historical accounts of the same situations though. FYI, Gearbox was so thorough with the historical research they compiled while making the series that they worked with the History Channel to create a documentary on the subject.

That said, Gearbox hasn't been that good lately. They need to get back to Borderlands and BIA again.

Because 480p is better than 1080p? 🤔

Really, though, when has Activision not been reactionary with COD lately? They copied Titanfall, they copied Halo, and now they copied Battlefield. COD is a me too shooter trying to follow the trend while still pretending to be the leader.

First it was Morpheus, then it was Neo, now Sony is secretly working on PS Trinity, woah.

The CPU is 50% faster than it's specs indicate as long as the DX12 API is used to target the accelerators in the command processors for CPU offloading. The "Jaguar CPU" also has 4x the cache of a standard Jaguar CPU, along with a decent boost to the clock speeds. There's roughly 60 improvements made to Scorpio vs. off the shelf parts, so...

What you should have said is that you want to agree with him, but your standard ommissi...

• Nintendo made a portable system like the PSP, which can dock with the TV, so they won't change the home console space. Nintendo is stuck on trying to create niche products with unique gimmicks and they only end up with 1st party support and Japanese 3rd party support in the long run.
• Playstation is successful enough that they don't need to change what they're doing; they represent the current console space already. Strong 1st party and 3rd party support on a console...

Very well put, Septic! Some of you other guys, not so much. For example:

Random One, what did Septic say (or not say) about the PS Pro that prompted your post? Septic's post is quite neutral because he's complimenting what both companies are doing, so I'm not understanding your frustration here either.

Roweeson, it shows MS' willingness to change their "ignorance", not to continue to be. MS is putting the past behind them, and...

XB1 has the same DX12 HW as Scorpio (but Scorpio has other HW that XB1 doesn't), it's just that the proper engines to run DX12 code that are finally arriving with Scorpio. Turn 10 even stated that making games for Scorpio will make them look better on XB1 too. I prefer if you don't believe... it'll make it that much funnier when XB1 games have parity with their PS4 counterparts.
