4K assets, extra graphical enhancements, superior LOD, at a supersampled 1080p resolution sounds good to me though...
Forza 6 on Scorpio:
Ultra 4K settings with everything maxed out >plus< LOD removed on all cars in order to only run the highest asset models. All on a system only at 80% of full rated power until June dev kit updates roll out... and STILL AT A LOCKED 60FPS AT 88% OF MAX OUTPUT.
Forza 6 on PC:
Ultra 4K with everything maxed out on PC and LOD FOR CARS ENABLED... and a 1070 still can't maintain locked 60FPS. It's more li...
Three Inch,
You just added it, and appropriately enough, they're your words to use. The Turn 10 interview says that they'd maxed out PC ultra settings AND turned off the LOD changes for all the cars and were still only at 88%. This is why you guys are trying to downplay everything else you can ATM... you can't believe that what you're seeing and hearing about Scorpio is real. It's going to hurt real bad come E3 when you see the games.
@ Hyper
It's called the Guide button and it takes you to the Guide. It says Guide at the top of the window when it opens, so why do you assume that I should go to the Dashboard on my XB1 when it's pressed?
Conversely, PS4 has a Home button that takes you Home. That makes the same amount of sense that pulling up a Guide menu does for MS.
Seriously, this is why we can't have conversations on N4G. You mislabel things and won...
Lol at the disagrees when they can't answer the question, "Why do you need to go to the dashboard at all?"
FYI, the Guide has direct access to:
Home
Games and Apps
Store
Gold Benefits
Recently Played
Pins
Only things I don't think you can access is Community and One Guide.
Fishy... It is common knowledge that MS is working to get all versions of Minecraft to be the same so players on any platform can play together, and that's why they've been bringing the different versions closer to parity with each update. MS also stated last week that consoles and portables will get the mods. Your quote is accurate though, at least for now. Infected is also right, because they are putting the PC first.
Infected, you could have just looked up "minecraft mod support" and seen that it is coming to consoles too.
Also, Bethesda has mod support on consoles already, so I'm not really sure how you came to your conclusion.
What???
What is it that requires you to go the the dashboard anymore? I'm honestly curious.
MS is turning their level of focus towards games now too, E3 is going to make Sony look stupid for releasing a console like the Pro last year when they didn't need to, and MS is going to bring the games to back up the power too!
Haters gonna hate though, just look at all the damage control articles and opinions flooding N4G, trying to overshadow the Beast!
Your "recently played" and "pins" show up with one press of the guide button, just like before, but is it really that horrible to have to press the guide, right, and A if you need to?
The guide is 3-4 times faster now so if it was still the old way it would have taken just as long waiting as it does now to get to the dashboard. People complaining are just lazy and don't want to push 2 buttons for that 1% of the time they need to go to the dashboard....
Kionic, If you go back to the article and read a bit past where they talk about PC Ultra maxed out at 88%, Turn 10 clarifies something that people seem to have missed. Something AMAZING.
That 88% is with everything maxed, yes, but it is also WITH LOD CHANGES TURNED OFF for every car in the field and therefore shown at one LOD below Auto Vista... usually an LOD reserved just for the player's vehicle... even if it only occupies 1500 pixels out of the 8m+ pixels on a 4K mo...
John Doe, you mean like how businesses undercut the competition by selling big items at a loss and making money up on increased revenue from the smalls? How do you think Wal Mart sells TV's so cheap? They take a loss on them, and make it up selling clothing and produce, etc. It's not a coincidence MS has Game Pass coming, or that their games play on Windows PC's you know.
Me too. Seeing as how MS has openly admitted that their focus is on gaming now, and they were honest about Scorpio's power, I can only believe that E3 will be great for XB1 owners this year.
ME:A is running in DX11, and Bioware isn't planning on a Scorpio patch AFAIK. The game will always look like crap, play like crap, and animate like crap.
At least they know their priorities and fixed transgender dialog issues and tired faces...
It is a huge leap, because when devs use DX12, the D3D HW takes as much as 50% of the workload off of the CPU. Even though the CPU isn't much better on it's own Scorpio can process up to twice as much CPU data as just looking at the Jag cores would suggest.
Inzo, isn't it obvious that it is, since they stuck with Jaguar cores instead of going with Ryzen? MS modified the system with specialized HW that creates a 50% reduction in the workload seen by the CPU, so they could get the FC for XB1 games and still get modern CPU performance. It's so obvious that this explanation has actually been stated in the reveal.
One promise down, one to go. MS is going to bring it to E3 this year, and the games are going to look stun...
Christopher, it's obvious where you stand now since the best argument you can come up with is that article from two years ago. I won't link articles for you to read because they're here on your site from TODAY, yet you obviously won't read them. FYI, Scorpio has a significantly altered HARDWARE SCHEDULER to handle the vast majority of the CPU's functions and DX12 functions, leaving the CPU free for other tasks. DX12 HARDWARE is embedded into the hardware scheduler, whic...
Why, because GT Sport isn't? Honest question, but it is kind of unlikely considering 1st party GT Sport has a limited VR Mode instead of the full game in VR.
