Part of it has to do with the Cyberpunk 2077 rumors I'm sure. More recently though it was suggested that PS5 dev kits have been seen in the wild. I'm still under the impression that we're looking at no earlier than 2019 though because of how long game development usually takes.

If it were a problem, then when violent games were introduced to the world violent crimes would have escalated. It was a problem when rock n' roll was "corrupting our youth" too.
