Historically, add ons don't get much support. Vr support has to be built into the games, which means the game will likely need to be 60fps to even consider support. Occulus will run into these problems, and Hololens(AR) faces a price problem in lieu of a a framerate one due to built in processing. I don't see any of these being much more than a niche market.
Reminds me of Sandra Bullock's character in Demolition Man.
I saw this on TV a few months ago, where they said if left unchecked the situation could become one of global proportions. Right now they have no idea where to properly dispose of all the waste currently being stored in leaking tanks and that the reactor itself is still failing, generating unfathomable amounts of heavy water as a result. It's sad that this is all being downplayed by various government groups. If this continues, I fear you're right.
It's not hidden in the options menu, as Kotaku suggests, unless "Power and Startup" is too hard to figure out by description. Also, since you choose what option you want for the console during initial setup, MS clearly gives you the choice to use it or not. Again, not hidden. As far as irresponsible is concerned, we choose to use electricity to power the things that make our lives better in some way, like lights, an air conditioner, or a home theater. 12 - 14 watts is trivia...
Sega Master System had 3D glasses. Anyone remember those?
Funny how a post that is all about Sony in an XB1 article is okay, but telling them to grow up and quit trolling is immature. Ridiculous.
@Blurmobjet
As I said, the title is misleading. The article is about XB1 and DX12 though, which are both MS products, but nothing to do with Sony which is why Cornholio's trolling doesn't belong here.
If Japan keeps stockpiling heavy water from that nuclear disaster at current rates, the only thing that'll be able to live there in the future is Godzilla. So that'll equal 1 PS5 sold if they can't fix the problem, which already makes chernobyl look miniscule by comparison. Talk about market saturation then...
Wait. There's a difference between the two?
I agree with you 100%. The XB1 will run hardware accelerated DX12 so it won't be magic when it gets the modest gains Phil keeps talking about. As Phil has stated in the past that DX12 will make it easier to do some of the things XB1 is good at, we can assume he means things like the eSRAM dedicated tiled resources which runs around 6gb of textures through 32mb of ram. MS demonstrated this tech a few years back so we know it works. That alone frees up lots of GPU resources for other tasks....
Does the extra spacing between your sentences somehow relate to the topic of this article? What does this post have to do with anything besides your usual trolling? The title of this article is misleading but plenty of others, like Dice just tweeted, have said it'll help XB1 already.
PS: Let me add one key thing you missed in your post to help you make more sense to everyone: I hope you grow up.
He won't use that. It won't help his trolling. Good try though! I wonder how much counselling he'll need after he sees Halo, Forza, and especially Gears.
So by your standards, the Powerglove for NES, Sony's Eye Toy for PS2, and the Kinect for 360 were ready for the market because they sold it?
VR launching in 2016 is the gaming equivalent of electric cars 15 years ago, and just good enough to prove a concept is not the same as a "now" thing, as all gaming companies have also proven in the past as well.
Didn't MS just repackage the Kinect for Windows accessory into nto the XB1 product line because Kinect for XB1 was selling really well? Thats what an article here about a week ago said. XB1 needs more Kinect SW for sure, but voice commands for TV and XB1 are quicker than the UI, and Skype while doing something else is great.
This is kind of off topic but about a year ago a couple fell off a cliff at the Grand Canyon and killed themselves... taking a selfie. So they can actually be fatal.
It's good to reboot an old game for it's fans, but make it fresh for today's gamers. Brute Force, Mech WARRIOR, Rallisport Challenge, Crimson Skies, Blood Wake, and Quantum Redshift all come to mind, not to mention aquired IP from Rare.
Maybe you just ate something that disagrees with you...
The TOCA series did it well back in the day. I miss that and Colin McCrae (which sadly became Grid and Dirt).
I think most devs will adopt right away. Getting close to the metal PC performance with one day extra dev time to port to XB1 is a Win/Win situation, pun intended.
I didn't know there was a glitch, so I guess I was somewhat oblivious. Got it day one, stealthed it first, then murdered everyone on a second playthrough for fun.
@foxtrot
Hitman is still my favorite stealh series. I'm hoping for an E3 reveal!
Drive Club looks great for a closed circuit racer, where many objects do not require high LOD as hey are never close up. FH2 looks great because of its open world, miles long draw distance, and real time lighting of every source in the game.
Audio wise they both gathered audio directly from the car, but neither sounds right due to how they are mixed. The levels on the engine, transmission, tires and other factors make both sound good for different reasons. It's personal ...
