It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Nintendo needs to drop the Wii U, desperately. They also need to replace it with something useful, like a console peeple want to own or a double decker couch!

Getaway? Am I going to have to find a wall to lean on to heal now?

Bioshock was one of the worst AAA games series I can remember playing, ever.

Take the first Bioshock. Nearly everything about the gameplay was copied from somewhere else(mostly Doom but with magic), the story was poorly written, enemies you beat the crap out of suddenly went super beast mode so you had to play Pokemon Snap for a while, and plenty more.

Ken, "Would you kindly" create a game that lives up to your capabilities and make it both unique ...

Which is better,

A pound of rotten fish or an ounce of fresh sashimi?
A tricycle or a bicycle?
A Star Wars marathon or an all day meeting?
More ignorant or less?

More is better is a completely baseless agrument. As far as MS not bringing about change, it would take too long to list how much is different about the console today than just one year ago. Those changes are seeds, planted to grow over time and yield results. Things like BC,...

I hate to break it to you, Andrew, but your reading comprehension needs some work.

I never said multiple ACEs weren't in computer GPUs before XB1. I said that the new design for the ACEs, that now support 16 threads instead of 8 are. GCN 1.0, with 2 ACEs, came out way before the 8th gen did, and the move to 8 ACEs was a part of GCN 1.1 which is what Sony followed. MS has GCN 1.2 features and probably beyond, but we'll have to see more about what GCN 1.3 features are...

Demon, you claim you don't care, but you post and ridiclue facts as moonspeak? GTFO of an article related to DX12 and how engines desined specifically to support it are more efficient as they scale up then. MS, AMD, Samsung, and others got together and created a road map for changing the PC at the hardware level in order to significantly increase their performance-per-watt.

The XB1 has hardware based off of this idea, and in turn, new PC GPU's are using technology o...

PS4 sells 2 to 1 over XB1.
Gains 3rd party exclusive support.
3rd party support must be the reason for its success.
Sarcasm.

It does help because it means more reasons for customers to choose a particular console, but it's no more important than any other time in history. It's always been important.

Shloobmm3, I guess I still don't understand what castillo was alluding to then. In re-reading the article, it does say he was working there during CDs' formative years though. Oh well, whatever, thanks for clearing that part up though.

Game,

•You confirmed through independent research that the XB1 has 2 ACES with 16 threads each, just like the ones AMD will be using in it's upcoming cards.
•The XB1 already supports both HEVC and 10bpc, which you can enable in settings.
•The known specs of the XB1 list a video output of 4GB. AMD confirmed display port 1.3 for 2016 has the same output, due out in 2016.
•The XB1 Pix tool, staight from the XDK leak, shows the XB1 supports XDMA, which...

SE = Screw Everybody

Only way I'll change my mind on this is if all of the Final Fantasy spin off games have their stories incorporated in some meaningful way, so as to create a story greater than the sum of it's parts.

More interestingly, the devs say that the Nitrous engine is one of the only engines out there reinvestigating how to render a frame. Is it coincidence that the only company using a native DX12 engine is able to use proportionally less power as they scale up the detail? Maybe efficiency in software(and hardware design), and not raw horsepower, will prove to be more effective as the generation goes on?

AMD keeps introducing things into its 2016 GPU line up that the XB1 alread...

What will make VR a success is when the device can be totally self contained and portable. When the system itself is the VR and it is not an option for the hardware to support it. An accessory is just that, an accessory, and only serves to divide the gaming segment between gamers/devs who support it and those who don't.

PSVR is an experiment, as is OR, Vive, etc., which is just barely able to function well enough to provide a proof of concept. If VR takes off, we might...

Simulating anything is never "just as good" as running it natively. If that was the case, people wouldn't have been pissed at the whole Killzone reprojection debacle. PSVR is passable, but it will fall way behing OR due to hardware limitations that PC hardware won't suffer from.

Going by your logic, every XB1 game I own runs at 1080p because it gets upscaled and is therefore just as good as native 1080p, and since I get 120 fps on my TV because I enabled th...

S2killinit, so you're getting OR then, right? That way your proper device can hook up to a PC and run everything natively, will improve alongside PC hardware improvements, and won't require an extra box to try to make up for the shortcomings of the hardware with interpolation and other tricks. XB1 would have to have support from an external source as well, just to get OR to run VR using similar enhancement technology to that of PSVR(or perhaps the cloud).

Let's see if a peripheral can actually be successful before we all proclaim that PSVR is going to fundamentally change anything about gaming. Historically, hardly any peripheral that changes the function of the hardware has ever been a success, except maybe the PS2 internet adapter. Even the Kinect, which sold somewhere around 20 million units didn't take off in the long run, so it's best to keep expectations realistic.

Additionally, PSVR will require continued ...

I don't think Sony could afford it, or anyone else for that matter, when Kojima spends something like $80 million on MGSV and still can't finish the project.

Actually, MS has plenty of money to throw around. They bought Minecraft for $2.5 billion, right?

Why is Final Fantasy listed as an exclusive? We don't know where else it will end up yet, but it's never advertized as an exclusiive either.
