Without the USA, you would have been playing Metro 2033 in your own back yard by now. Show some respect.
Genuine User linked in another thread a tweet suggesting PS4 sold a bit over 1.5 million. Since Greenburg says 2.8 Million total between XB1 and PS4 that means XB1 was around 1.3 million for November. Not a bad month for either company!
Wii U, OTOH... ouch.
Pringlec, you need to understand that 2 years into a console's lifespan I shouldn't have to play a game on a last gen engine. If it was on a new engine like it should've been it would be even more capable than you described. Not downgraded instead.
"Success breeds arrogance and greed."
Dr Fraud, you're so right.
Look at PS Now and PS2 emulation.
Does anybody find this article kind of weird?
Why is it that we get news that states that NPD data says who won, but it doesn't release the actual numbers? We get this kind of article all the time, and rarely does it include the actual data it alludes to when it says who won. Did they win by 1 console or 1 million? My gripe is with these articles though, not the data.
Anyways, congrats to Sony! The price cut and marketing deals paid off along with the ...
Hopefully on a new graphics engine. That way they don't have to patch the game to make it look worse just so it will run smoothly.
Truthfully, in 20 years we may have commercially available quantum computers like the Google and NASA just built, which are currently the size of a refridgerator and 100 million times more powerful than a desktop.
I played it on practically everything, PC, SNES, 32x, Jaguar, N64, Xbox... I love it every time!!!
I can appreciate that sentiment. I just can't understand the choices Bungie has made so far. Launching with no meaningful story, having a year's worth of DLC with no real story, then releasing a story that if you don't buy won't let you do all the things you've already paid for(like limiting raids with a level cap).
Nix, I responded you because your post says that some companies really do care about their customers, added to the fact that you seem to be quite fond of bashing the XB1 when you can. I just put 2 and 2 together and assumed you were suggesting that Sony was that company. The way Master C says it is decidedly more neutral.
You can see that my post was neutral as well, picking on the shortcomings of all 3 companies. I apologize if I misunderstood your intentions, but judging...
Lennbox, I don't think the next Xbox will abandon the ancilliary functions of the XB1 console, but will simply make sure that games come first. I'll give you one example of what I mean.
The Kinect, on the 360 was self contained, with all the processing built in so it didn't tax the system. The kinect on XB1 relies on the console's processing in order to function, which means less power for games.
If this is how far tech has evolved in 20 years, just think what another 20 will do for the industry...
Consoles were never more powerful than PCs. They were more efficient because the platform components were always the same and devs could program with lower level access than a PC. With DX12 finally providing low level PC access like consoles have had for years, you'll be guaranteed never to see a console outperform a PC again.
In 25 to 30 years, however, I contend that games will look so realistic that the extra power won't even matter anymore, but even then a PC wi...
Agreed. They need more exclusive IP, which they have in the pipeline right now, but they need more than 2nd party studios too. They should buy Remedy, for example.
This whole article was a joy to read, full of interesting facts and great potential, but you know what the biggest take away from all this is? Zombie Bunny MMOs may one day cure cancer.
Destiny's next story?
The Taken Consumer
Nix, which company is the one that cares?
Is it Nintendo, who is too stubborn to make a console that people want to own, put out underpowered products that are way too expensive for their performance range, and spam new handhelds practically every two years to rip off families with children to stay solvent?
Or is it MS, who rushed 360 to market and suffered the RROD fiasco, and had the plan to make the XB1 online only with DRM and a mandatory Kinect sensor? ...
Game, seriously, just stop. No one suggested that the XB1 and the PC run the same versions of anything. Besides you. The principles of each version are exactly the same in spite of their differences. Win10 adds WDDM 2.0 to each version because DX12 requires it in order to operate. You can easily look up this fact at sites like anandtech. Additionally, why would MS wait until Win10 hit consoles to add DX12 if this were not the case? Furthermore, the article you're here commenting in m...
Game, listen to what you're saying for a second. You're suggesting that Windows doesn't need WDDM drivers to operate on XB1? The XB1 runs on Win10, which saw the kernel upgraded from WDDM 1.3 to WDDM 2.0. Matter of fact, DX12 requires WDDM 2.0 in order to operate, which is why it can't run on the older OS in the first place and also why the guy in the interview says not all DX12 features worked well when implemented in DX11.
Edit: I just looked it up, and WDD...
The Edge browser sucks worse than IE did; it crashes all the time and I still can't copy/paste. I use it a lot, going back and forth between games and the net when I need help or even to post on N4G like I am right now. I do love my Chat Pad though!
Uth11, thanks for clearing that up! I don't care that much about sales so I didn't realize that data was private.
